The Neighborhood: Penn Quarter is a neighborhood in the East End of Downtown Washington, D.C. north of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Its boundaries are not well established, but they appear to extend along F Street NW from 5th to 10th Streets, and approximately H Street on the north where Penn Quarter abuts or partially overlaps with Chinatown. Penn Quarter is southeast of the Metro Center shopping district. Penn Quarter has been rejuvenated over the past several decades, stimulated first by the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation (PADC) and later, following the recession in the 1990s, by the Verizon Center, a sports, concert and event arena that opened nearby at 7th and F streets in 1997 as the MCI Center. Amazing apartment, great location! Everything we wanted and more for our vacation stay and it includes a view from a balcony that was such an unexpected bonus of the experience. (Included photo from the balcony at night)The parking garage is a tight fit getting in out, so small vehicles only, we were driving a RAV4 and got in and out just fine. The parking garage has a separate fee that you pay at the front desk and then there is a convenient elevator that you can use from the garage that goes to your floor. The apartment was clean, quiet, spacious, and accommodating. It had everything we needed to feel at home while away, full kitchen, laundry services, and they even provided some starter essentials like toiletries and coffee and had all the dishes that we needed while we stayed. The balcony goes from the kitchen over to the outside of each bedroom. We had very few interactions with staff and when we did, they were all very friendly. There are two elevators conveniently located and allowed access to different street entrances.The pool which is an indoor 4 foot deep lap pool was refreshing the hot tub was located in the same pool room. The garden area they have was a nice natural sitting area that we could have used to grill. The location of this apartment was a key highlight for us as we parked when we got there and didn't take our car out again till we left. It was so conveniently located downtown and we walked everywhere. This is not a place for loud guests
