This modern hotel had bright public areas that you actually do want to sit in. The outside terrace is delightful, being right on the river, and although very close to the shopping areas and the theatre, it feels quite rural out there. Reception staff were professional and friendly as were the bar staff and servers. One odd thing was you only get one bathrobe and slippers per room...that wasn't an issue, I just found it strange. The room was comfy and spacious enough. One gripe is that, although there is good air conditioning you can't open the window, which is something I miss. Parking was easy, even though we didn't park up till 4pm, as had been out and about beforehand, and at no extra cost. It was fine to leave the car there after check out too, to do some final sightseeing. I went for the bed and breakfast option as it was only £10 more than room only and breakfast was easily worth £5 each. There was all the usual continental breakfast stuff, with a hot food buffet station and you could order off a menu too if you fancied something cooked to order. Couldn't fault it.
Came here to celebrate my mums 85 th Birthday. She is disabled and in a wheelchair. The hotel is disabled friendly it has plenty of access all over the hotel with plenty of ramps and flat surfaces. The staff were excellent friendly efficient and nothing too much trouble . The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast. The hotel was situated smack bang in the middle of the town and an excellent location. We could not fault anything. Had an amazing stay. Would definitely return.
This is probably one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. We were welcomed on arrival and our room was immaculate. All the staff are extremely friendly. As we arrived late afternoon we decided to use the restaurant. The food was first class as was the breakfast next morning. The operation manager was ever present and maintains a high standard. Would definitely visit again.
We hadn't booked accommodation in Stratford Upon Avon and got a great deal at the Crowne Plaza. Our rate included breakfast and a 23 pound dinner credit for the two adults. Our room was very spacious (a separate area for our daughter anda bath!) and the hotel is in a great location, we walked over to the boat hire and ferris wheel. We loved our dinner in the restaurant overlooking the river. The food was very good. There are lovely outdoor seating areas too. A relaxing stay.
We stayed here as part of a conference week tour. They catered well for4 our large (>70) group. Food was ok, drinks expensive, but what you expect to pay in tourist centres such as this across UK & Europe.! Room was functional & quite comfortable, given the time we spent in it, which was really only to sleep. Internet WiFi was ok for me.
Situated right in the heart of stratford. Parking on site. As we are IHG members we checked in early around 1pm and had a courtesy late check out the next day. The hotel has recently overgone a refurb. Every area looks pretty new. We had a king size room. big bed. seating area. large tv. full sky tv. usb charging points. stocked fridge. ironing board. hairdryer. air con. thick curtains giving god black out. Bathroom had walk in shower. Very nicely decorated but room quite small and shower looked good but didn't really deliver enough water. Large patio terrace area overlooking the river. Great club lounge for IHG members. Hot and cold drinks all day. Wine from 5pm with nibbles. Large screen TV, books, games. Wifi good throughout every member of staff you pass acknowledges you with a smile and very attentive. Breakfast usual buffet fare. plenty of it but not very hot and not fantastic quality. Streaky bacon instead of back. Cooked tomatoes were more raw. Scrambled eggs were very bland and cold. Even baked beans were lukewarm. Few options for gluten free just rather large roll that you had to ask for. But overall great place
Just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel.. its in a perfect location right in center of stratford. Staff very friendly and helpful.. the room was spacious and clean bed very comfy and huge.... very quiet no noise at all... Lovely bar area and outside seating over looking the river. We dined out in the evening.plenty of pubs and resturants in the town to choose from.breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Set you up for the day. My only criticism is we weren't staying longer.. we will definately be back.
We arrived early and dropped a bag. Came back around 21:45 to check in. we were allocated room 2088 on 20 June 2017. Tired, we opened the door and without turning on a light I went to open a curtain. It was my wife that spotted someone's luggage opened on the floor. We then saw some car keys and other valuables. We exited and returned to reception. Confused and apologetic we were given room 2063. I would have thought they had all day to sort us a room. We could have walked in on people who were in bed. It was a good job they were out. Our room was large and comfortable with a king size bed. I slept very well. There was some staining on the room carpet under the TV. The lobby area is very welcoming and although we didn't use the bar it looked like a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink. It was a very warm evening and there is access to the riverside which we didn't take advantage of. The breakfast room was also good with plenty of choices. We didn't experience any great service from the staff. Many of whom are non British. There was a slim oriental girl in the breakfast room who was quite rude and ignored us when we asked about skimmed milk. Another staff member helped us and commented on how horrible she is to work with. I would stay again though if in the town. We arrived by train and if parking there is a £5 charge.
Just spent a couple of nights here and found the room was excellent with a good air con system and excellent blackout curtains. As other reviewers have said the bar service is poor, not enough staff, no real ales except a single choice of mad goose - they obviously have heard of craft beers. The swimming pool is tiny more of a plunge pool but rest of facilities good hence 4 stars.
I have stayed here many times since 2010, with my husband, with friends, with visiting relatives. We all love the location by the river, a short walk to the RSC, our usual reason for visiting Stratford, and the pleasant terrace, the best place locally to have a late night drink ( but beware the kitchen is shut by then, so no sandwiches or snacks). This was my first visit after the hotel upgrade to a Crowne Plaza. The room was more expensive to book, the hotel didn't look different ( a good thing),the rooms weren't notably improved though the toiletries had been "upgraded". Unfortunately, there was a change. The staff : at check-in, the receptionist, who was on placement, was a little brusque, and not entirely sure what she could or could not do for IHG Priority Club members. She had no requests listed on my booking. I had, in fact, made special requests, I said. After a certain amount of persuasion on my part, she was helpful. The next day, at 11.30, shortly after check-out, there was no-one at Reception at all for a good 10 minutes ! When, eventually,I asked if they could book me a taxi for a specific time, the young man at the desk handed me a card with a taxi company number so I could sort it out for myself. I was surprised that this was considered 4-star service. The previous evening, after an early dinner, the bill had an incorrect item on it. The waiter accepted that this was the case, but as the price was the same of the food we had ordered, no matter, he thought. I hope this isn't a slippery slope for an otherwise good hotel in an excellent location in Stratford.
