We stayed in a standard double room on the second floor, the room was clean however the air conditioning was so noisy we couldn't sleep with it on and found the room quite hot at night. The bathroom was a shower over the bath with tGood location within walking distance to the town centre and attractions. As a regular visitor, we normally find the experience excellent, this visit was for my birthday and we found a few things lacking this time. Check in wasn’t as friendly as usual, we did get there 25 minutes early and felt like we were made to feel like a hindrance, so we were told as we had the VIP lounge on our booking we could just go and sit in there and have a drink and wait, this isn’t the first time we have had VIP lounge but this was the first visit we were told we could use it any time of day, in the past we have been told it opens at 6pm. On our first day the jacuzzi wasn’t available, our second day the pool and jacuzzi was out of order and with all the work going on with the decking we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the late September sun, we really feel disappointed with our recent stay and are off the opinion you should give guests advance notice of any planned work or outages. Overall we didn’t find some of the staff as welcoming and friendly as usual and a few people in the VIP lounge were saying the same things about their stay.

Fantastic hotel & staff highly recommended

On arrival I had an issue with my booking(my own fault not the hotel’s or hotels.com)…the manager resolved instantly and beyond my expectations phewww. Hotel is in a great location/in the centre with its own parking(£12 per 24hours), stunning rooms and interior. The staff really couldn’t do enough for us. Amazing thank you(chocolates delivered) and would definitely recommend.

Don’t waste money on lounge upgrade

Stayed here several times . Unfortunately the pool now has many damaged sharp tiles which is not good, especially for kids ! Leisure staff don’t acknowledge you when you enter - too busy talking ! Paid extra for lounge access , this opened 45 minutes late , by which time most people had gone off for their evening meal . I mentioned it at reception , heard no more ! Not as good ac it used to be . Many beautiful features but the room was a tired as are several areas and service
