found this hotel very dated . We had two rooms booked one for us as a couple and a accessible room for my elderly aunt only to find our rooms were adjourning and having an accessible room on the third floor seemed to totally go against health and safety regulations in case of an emergency, especially when the access was only one lift in working order . Found the rooms very dated and over cluttered with things that needn’t not be in there so were rather cramped as they were not large rooms anyway .The only good thing about this hotel was the room service we received for our aunt who took her evening meal in her room couldn’t fault the restaurant manager for having this organised within 20 minutes but must hasten to add the restaurant was not busy so maybe that helped a great deal. Overall I would not stay here again if in the area as being part of the ihg group this hotel needs updating to give it a personality as I have stayed in plenty of there hotels over the world and only have had good things to say before
Visited the crown plaza for a 2 night stay and stayed in an executive room with access to the club lounge which was a very nice room with soft drinks ,tea and coffee available through out the day and from 5-9 a selection of alcoholic drinks and canapés ,as well as books boards games and internet and television access ,which made the stay even more enjoyable. We had breakfast the first morning which was £12,which was also very good with a wide selection of hot and cold food available. The executive room was very nice with a theatre view and a walk in shower, the shower was not as powerful as I was expecting but none the less was perfectly acceptable,we were disturbed for a couple of hours the first morning by maintenance power washing the canopy roof at the entrance to the hotel but this only went on for a few hours and obviously this is not done every day so was not a problem I understand maintenance needs to be carried out The lobby of the hotel is light airy and welcoming and the staff were friendly and welcoming Fantastic location close to the lovely town centre and River Avon. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely return and stay here again
Have stayed here before when it was a Holiday Inn but now it has changed to Crowne Plaza. Have stayed at Crowne plazas before and tend to go for the Club rooms if possible which is what we did here. Overall the hotel seems unaltered, perhaps a few details here and there. The room itself was fine, nice shower only problem we had was with the air con which was working but not sufficently to really cool the room down!As with other Crowne plazas, if you book a club room you also get access to the Club lounge, which was on the ground floor and accessed via key card.Refreshments, alcoholic and non alocoholic were available as well as nibbles.Good range of drinks, White and Red wine,Prossecco and Rose, together with bottled lagers etc.Nibbles were chicken skewers, olives, cheeses and meats..very nice. Breakfast for club room members was served in the same club lounge and unfortunately we felt that the variety of food offered was not up to the usual standard of Crown plaza club lounges..maybe they will improve. As this is a large hotel, catering for travellers and also business functions we found that the bar can get very busy but as the town is five minutes walk away this isn't really a problem if you want a quieter place to drink. Car parking is still charged! Overall a good hotel, just needs tweaking!
Stayed for one night in a nice spacious room on the third floor. Good property for a quick getaway from the city life, set in a calm, tranquil environment and offering a variety of services. Stylish and modern lobby and common spaces, well organised leisure club. Shame that the spa treatments are not available on a Sunday! Would have definitely taken advantage of that. Although I haven't used them, I have noticed large and modern event spaces. We had dinner in the restaurant, although we would have loved a more varied selection of starters, the sirloin steak was very nice and cooked perfectly. Alicia was very pleasant serving our table at dinner and Daniella was very helpful too. Breakfast is good and offers a broad selection of sweet and savoury. The quality of coffee is also great. Good stay!
We booked this hotel for a short stay in Stratford Upon Avon, and upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. You are welcomed by a well decorated and vast reception area, with helpful staff waiting to help you. The room itself is very well furnished, with a safe, sky tv and lovely little bathroom space. We had booked the deluxe room, but the bed itself exceeded expectation with a very large and comfortable bed. Breakfast was also amazing with a wide range of food on offer, we were at the hotel on a Saturday morning (likely there busiest day) and didn’t really have to wait for anything. We also had access to the club lounge which turned out to be a massive plus for the hotel, free snacks and soft drinks throughout the day - great if you’ve popped back to the hotel to chill out for a little bit. And in the evening free beer/wine and canapé style snacks. Perfect before heading out for dinner or a show. The only minor comment is the cleaning, this is being quite picky, but we did have a few hairs in the bathroom - in the shower, draws right in the crevasses... perhaps something the cleaners could look out for in future. All in all, a great stay! Thank you Crowne Plaza
An overnight stay here was special! The terrace was stunning next to the river, the food very good and room stylish. Loved the bar and lounge areas. Great value for money for a lovely stay. Just a short walk to the town and the riverside boats. What a stunning place! Only problem was the fire alarm went off just before we booked out and it was rather chaotic. Everyone got outside, if was a false alarm but we were not gathered outside to be told that.
We really enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel. Conveniently located, very comfortable rooms, elegantly decorated, nice touches, friendly staff, etc. Our only point of contention was that there was a sudden fire alarm while we were checking in. Impressively, the staff all moved very quickly to don their emergency vests and to follow their pre-arranged emergency routines. But they just totally ignored us and the other guests who were in the lobby so that we had no idea if we should have left the building immediately or if it was safe to stay where we were. A word or two of reassurance would have been very welcome.
A fantastic venue for an annual conference. Beautiful decor, excellent service, scenic and stylish. Well organised. Wonderful and supportive staff. An excellent lunch, lovely refreshments during the coffee breaks. Big, functional rooms for the events hosted. I can recommend this venue without any reservation!
Amazing localization. Walkable to the principal attractions of the city. Excellent service and confortable amenities! My first impression of the hotel was made by Jitka and Luke, very friendly and professional receptionists that solved all my little problems. :) Secondly, the dining area was relaxing and beautiful. But what made our dinner was Liwwi, a proactive young girl always prepared to help and satisfy our needs, as well as making us laugh with her positive attitude. Well done Crowne Plaza!
Being a regular business user of hotel chains I was particularly impressed with the staff at Crowne Plaza , Stratford upon Avon. They were clearly very well schooled in their corporate ethos but this does not detract from the visitors feeling special as a result. Well done IHG !
