Visited here for lunch (Cast Iron) and what a stunning place. Beautiful surroundings and think it was THE best burger and fries I've ever had ! Obviously not as cheap as a quick fast food burger but well worth a visit here. Staff were all very helpful and polite.

Lovely day and night spent at Hanbury Manor. Course was immaculate and the hotel was very welcoming. Breakfast service was brilliant and the staff were very attentive. Parking was a little far from the hotel, but nothing that was an issue as they have dedicated and obvious signposts.

I stayed at Hanbury Manor for 4 nights with my family. The hotel was good but the noise from the nearby road was annoying. The restaurant food and service was OK but overpriced. The spa was excellent.

Don't even THINK of taking your kids to this hotel. Despite being placed in a family room in the "family wing" of the hotel, ALL the rooms around us were given to single men. We had drunken guys banging on the door after midnight, constant loud voices in the corridor, slamming doors (43 times in 5 minutes at 3am!), pictures knocked off walls, pint glasses littering the hallway and a party in the room opposite at 3.20am. We were up most of the night with the kids (9 months, 5 and 7), totally ruining the next day. I complained bitterly to the night manager at 3.30am and the noise finally stopped at 4am. Their offer of compensation: two continental breakfasts - for a stay costing over £200! An absolute disgrace: DON'T DO IT!!

A fabulous stay from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Check in was first class, very efficient and the two ladies could not have done enough for us. We stayed in a Prestige room, which was nice had good facilities and was a decent size but I do prefer the older style décor to the new refurbished modern rooms, I think it is more in keeping with the age and style of this magnificent building. The room was quiet and overlooked the golf course. We had a lovely meal in the Restaurant and an excellent breakfast delivered to our room. We have been coming to Hanbury Manor for around 12 years and as always the service is first class, but we have noticed over the years things gradually being cut back for instance this is the first time we were not offered bread before our meal and also the orange juice served with the breakfast was cheap and watery. I would rather pay a little extra and keep things to a high standard. Saying this we had a lovely stay, the staff were brilliant and we left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

This should be a lovely manor house hotel, with a 4star service and experience. Unfortunately, it's turned out not to be. Without doubt the grounds are lovely, and they have a great golf course. Parking is away from the reception, so I guess you get wet if it rains, because it’s only at reception you understand they have buggy to take you to room, if you’re not in the main house. My room was in the Orchard yard, someway away from the main house, you need the buggy if were cold or wet to get to the restaurant The room was tired, the bathroom needed maintenance such as sealing around the bath, and the shower tap was far from easy to operate. Had to get maintenance to fix the TV, which when off again, so no TV! no air conditioning just a small fan, bed and pillows were soft. No signal for phone, poor Wi-Fi. The final disappointment was the staff, who were indifferent to our experiences and other guests. Received and witnessed poor service both at reception and at the restaurant in the evening. I guess I filled a room for a night and that’s all they wanted.....it should have been better for the price paid

First impressions on arrival were amazing. Old country house on grounds to die for. Check in was a little haphazard but I was early so no problem. I decided to go for lunch in the Grill to which I had a salad and enjoyed every mouthful. My only problem here was ordering drinks which was very painful. Waitress could not comprehend what I wanted and came back and forth to check. I had to go out before I had fully checked in even though I was issued with a key. On my return many hours later I was delighted with the room size and decor but horrified that it was a warm night and no air conditioning but a tiny desk fan. The beds were also very soft. Breakfast was ordinary with very few healthy options. Walking the grounds made for pleasant exercise after breakfast and sitting on the terrace was a pleasure. Lunch on the other hand was very disappointing. £29.50 for Sunday roast which was Luke warm and very salty. Overall a very nice place that should not be falling down on school boy errors. Wouldn't take much to make this place a real 5 star property.

I had a lovely one night stay whilst attending a charity golf evening with my husband. The event was great and the Hanbury staff were very professional. Whilst my husband played golf I visited the spa to check their availability and the ladies on reception couldn't have been more helpful. My massage with Mandy was perfect. The Hanbury Suite was huge and had an amazing view of the golf course. The only negative thing I have to say is, that on this hot July day, the room was very warm. This is due to the age of the hotel and there being no air conditioning - we were provided a fan which helped.

It is decades since I last stayed here and it is a shadow of it's former self, but with the premium price it no longer warrants charging. At check in, I received a disingenuous welcome, they tried to push dinner in the restaurant but I was not asked if I would like a newspaper. My room wasn't ready so I went to the bar, past a room of hen party ladies. There was an empty table and when I went to sit I was abruptly told I could only sit there for 45 minutes, I explained I was waiting for my room to be ready, the waiter walked away and I had to wait for a lovely smiling lady to come and serve me. The noise from the adjoining room of hens was distracting, particularly that of a young, screaming baby that seemed very distressed. It cried incessantly and I yearned for the mother to comfort it, not only for the enjoyment of everyone around it, but for it's own wellbeing. The room was hot and a small table top fan was on, about ten feet from the bed. The decor is dated and tired, furniture in the room broken and stained. The hotel in need of total renovation. I had a premium room but the facilities within the room were budget hotel standard. Within a broken piece of furniture apparently housing a 'mini bar' was a fridge empty of all but two small bottles of water, possibly complimentary, nothing to indicate if they were. Alongside is a tray with I assumed complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits (2) - the barest provision, not even a spoon....suggesting their clientele could not be trusted. I went to the pool, there was nowhere to sit, the pool was full of excited children, this was not the 'spa' experience I had imagined. I returned my unused towel and was told the best time to enjoy the pool is between 6am-7am. After an uncomfortable sleep, craving aircon, I showered using what remained of the toiletries from the night before, the room had not been serviced or checked to see if items need to be replenished. I made myself a cup of tea, I had to place the kettle on the floor as that was the only position given the length of the cable to place the plug in a socket. Health hazard and hardly what you would expect at £225 for the night. On my way to breakfast I went to the minimally stocked shop to buy a paper. I could have whatever I wanted so long as it was the Sunday Times.....I passed on the paper. For £225 per night I would expect the room to be at least as comfortable as my own home and offer some nice facilities. Instead I feel like I've been mugged by the Marriott group who are laughing 'Sucker!!!' as I leave. I would not reccomend this hotel nor would I consider staying here. The market is very competitive and this chain should take heed of the standards set by independents such as the Pig Hotels. I feel better for sharing this!

Stayed here this week looks very impressive on drive up. Reception was very pompous and took ages to go through every thing. Was in a garden room which is a long way from any facilities. On arrival at the room seemed nice and big. Problem a hot day no air con they had s little fan plugged in?? No use. The windows did open but can't leave them open as it's ground floor and the window stays don't work. Would not leave them due to all the warnings about car theft. Bathroom shower in the bath no none slip mat and the towels thin and like card board. Meal in the restaurant was disorganised took them ages to get the order correct and seems very little training in service waiters leaning over you etc. Ok for an overnight stay but no longer in warm weather. On mentioning at reception told no air on as it's listed but the garden rooms are not new build in comparison.
