The Space:
Morning light spills across the valley as mist lifts from the hills, and the quiet feels expansive, broken only by the sounds of the forest. Steam rises from the hot tub while stars emerge overhead, making it easy to slow down and settle into the rhythm of the mountains.
Nature’s Edge is a newly-renovated yurt set along a mountain ridge in Wardensville, West Virginia, surrounded by wooded acreage and wide-open views. Thoughtfully designed for comfort in all seasons, it blends the simplicity of yurt living with the everyday conveniences that make a stay relaxing and easy.
Sleeping arrangements
The yurt sleeps up to four guests in a studio-style layout. A king-sized bed and a sleeper sofa share the same open living space, making the setting ideal for couples or close companions. Above, a loft offers a quiet spot for reading, games, or simply enjoying a change of perspective.
Comfort and interior living
Inside, you’ll find a full bathroom and a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals, along with a Smart TV for evenings in. Heating is provided by a pellet stove, creating a atmosphere during chilly months, while air conditioning is available for warmer days. Fast WiFi supports streaming, video calls, and remote work, and a dedicated workspace makes it easy to stay connected when needed. Thoughtful touches like board games and comfortable seating encourage relaxed, screen-free downtime as well.
Outdoor living
Step outside to experience the setting that defines Nature’s Edge. The hot tub is a favorite year-round. The deck offers space to take in the views or fire up the grill. Access to Lost River is located about half a mile down the road, adding another layer of connection to the surrounding landscape. Free parking on premises and street parking is available.
Location and nearby experiences
Nature’s Edge sits just a short drive from both Wardensville and Lost River, where you’ll find local restaurants, cafes, and art studios. Lost River State Park, about 15 minutes away, offers miles of trails through dense forest. Seasonal conditions shape the experience here, from quiet hikes to scenic drives through the mountains. Please note that a nearby state route can carry some noise, particularly when trees are bare in winter; a sound machine is provided to support restful sleep.
Perfect for…
This yurt is well-suited for couples, solo travelers, or small groups looking to unplug, explore West Virginia’s mountain scenery, or enjoy a retreat with modern comforts. Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub on a night, working remotely with a view, or venturing out to nearby trails and towns, Nature’s Edge offers a calm and memorable base for your stay.
Note
While you are surrounded by 35 pristine, wooded acres, there is a state route to the north that can lead to noise, especially in the winter months with no leaves on the trees. For this reason we have a sound machine on the bedside table for a great night’s sleep.
During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
