Great location and lovely room

Lovely double room. Staff were lovely. Didn’t realise breakfast was inc so this was a bonus. Eggs were well cooked for eggs Benedict but still enjoyable. Great location. Couldn’t get parked in grounds so parked across the road near the backpackers digs.

A nice, basic, clean accommodation close to the lake front, shops and restaurants. Room was on the main floor and incredible noisy - heard everyone's coming and going and all street traffic but did not disrupt sleep at night. Staff was nice and offered home cooked scrambled eggs and bacon and a nespresso machine as compliments to the room. Not the Ritz for those who rate that as 5 star but Pleasant and convenient, I would stay here again.

Adequate parking when the adjacent lot is included. Arrival check-in was confusing with limited parking around reception. Variety of breakfast options and access to hot tub were a plus. The biggest drawback was the lack of outdoor lighting. Steps at the front of property are challenging to navigate at night. Excellent location for nearby dining and shops. Large room with nice amenities.

Te Wanaka Lodge is in a nice location (short walk to beach, shopping, restaurants). It has adequate parking, and the wifi worked. Breakfast was good.

👍 Like my review! We had a 2 night stay at "Te Wanaka Lodge" in Wanaka, New Zealand as part of our journey across the country. We chose the location because it was close to downtown, the lakeshore, eateries (including tons of food trucks), and even an awesome cinema. The checkin process could be improved since parking was difficult but earlier communication of a nearby public parking would be helpful. Nevertheless, the staff were lovely and kind showing us several of the rustic common areas (including a hot tub); then we settled into our room. Our room #2 had comfortable twin-sized beds and pillows, communal patio, desk with chair, accessible bathroom with key amenities (conditioning shampoo, body wash, hand soap, heated towel rack, ventilation, heating lamp, hair dryer), several outlets, television, iron and ironing board, and closet space. Since there's no private fridge, there's a communal fridge that is first come first served. There is also a washer and dryer on site for a fee. The internet can be slow at peak times but sufficient for email and navigation. The highlight was the delicious breakfast (included for a fee) where we had eggs Benedict with bacon on toast the first morning and scrambled eggs with bacon the second morning alongside a spread of bread, jams, peanut butter, museli (granola), yogurt, tea, and coffee! There was fruit in the afternoon along with coffee and tea. We would consider staying here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Friendly hosts. Modest rooms but do not book if the breakfast is a selling feature for you. Bad coffee, undercooked bacon, white toast and canned fruit - felt like stepping back in time to the 80s when we didn’t know what a good breakfast could be. With so many good options near by for eating, focus on doing one thing well (good coffee!) and let that kitchen be for guest use instead.
