Oakridge Resort Lake Wanaka

Situated on nice grounds close to town and Lake Wanaka. Small bathroom with a shower that has strong awesome pressure. The shower leaked onto the main bathroom floor under glass door. The toilet seat was annoyingly crooked. The washing machine broke and flooded the bathroom floor too. I'm assuming this was not the first time as the wooden door frame was swollen and repainted at the bottom section. We called reception and hotel staff acted promptly. They couldn't fix the machine however they washed our clothes and cleaned the bathroom floor. Also the hotel room was not serviced on our first night. Walls not insulated from sound. We could hear neighbours conversations either side of us and could easily hear movements of guests in hotel room above us.  We stayed for 3 nights in a studio apartment. Comfortable enough but did not have a good sleep. We enjoyed the full kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher etc. Staff at reception not overly welcoming, seem straight to the point check you in, check you out, ask for payment and that's it...

Where do I start? An international visitor and given a room with stairs to lug up suitcases for a start. Very small room. Very difficult to get to the fridge as it's in a closet and can barely open the fridge door to get the milk out. The worse thing is the state of the drapes. Absolutely filthy dirty is all I can describe it!! The king bed is no more than 2 singles put together. My itinerary stated that we had paid our travel agent for a full buffet breakfast, but upon enquiring, no it's not included. Rooms quite noisy. Can hear the room next door quite clearly. Would not recommend at all and would never return.

Really good here They have a heated pool and hot tubs and a pool that is not heated .Also sauna the restaurant was good go an evening meal Only here for one night but glorious great views staff excellent

Oakridge is a lovely resort with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and lovely outdoor pool and spa area. The rooms were modern and spacious with plenty of parking. Its on the outer edge of Wanaka but still only 5 mins drive to shops/restaurants etc.

The resort itself boasts loads of facilities for the guests; hot tubs, pools, sauna, gym, restaurant, spa. We spent time out by the hot tubs and pools, was a nice area and plenty of seating, the staff were attentive and came to ask us if we would like any drinks or snacks. We saw someone testing the waters of the hot tubs as well which is always reassuring with cleanliness! The resort is big, we had a room with a balcony which was just a typical hotel room. My biggest bug is that we booked for a double bed but we had to singles pushed together - I guess it’s a common thing but it’s just an annoyance. The room was standard, nothing special, the bathroom was clean and had a big shower which was powerful. We went for dinner at the resorts restaurant, wasn’t to bad at all. Cheeseboard starter was divine and a great start to nibble and drink to whilst the evening began. I had a ‘roasted vegetable stack’ which wasn’t what I expected at all - being root vegetables and mostly tasting of sweet potatoes it was very rich and overtly sweet that I couldn’t enjoy it - the waiter was nice enough when he came over to see if we had finished apologising for not checking on us sooner and giving a small creme brûlée as an apology. It’s a lovely resort for the facilities, great staff and really clean through out.

Beautiful apartment with 2 bedrooms and a ground floor garden. Stayed here for 5 nights as a base to go to Queenstown, Te Anau etc. Beds were very comfortable and the apartment was spacious. Great kitchen and living areas.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment over looking the lake and the mountains beyond. The view from the balcony was stunning. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean - suited our needs. The pool area complete with spa and gym was excellent. Totally recommend this place for few nights.

This hotel is more like a motel, the room was small unappealing with two small beds bedside lights that was too heavy so fell over when trying to switch on. The bath room was small and dated would have been better if the bath was removed and then it would have given a little more room. We had breakfast included tinned fruit! As your fruit option very poor selection of food. This hotel is well out of town. The best part of this stay was the leaving

Stayed in Sept, for spring snow. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. It was clean and reasonably well maintained. Beds were comfortable, as was the whole apartment. There was a gas fireplace as well as a second electric heater, that kept the whole apartment warm and cozy. There was also great view of the mountains surrounding wanaka. Practical aspects were taken care of - washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave and cooker/oven. The kids loved the heated pool and hot tubs. They seemed well maintained. We didnt eat at the onsite restaurant, but did try Jack Rabbit which is a short walk. It had the most ridiculously big pizzas I have ever seen. Tasty too! Close to town, but you will need a car or bike, as it is simply too far to walk (about 3km). Overall a 7/10. Not five star, but it doesn't try to be.

My wife and I booked this last minute. Not really knowing what we were getting - it looked nice and it was affordable so we just booked it. After staying there we were impressed. The staff were nice, its location was a bit out from the main city centre of Wanaka (but we had a car - it was only a 2 minute drive). The room was small but comfortable, it had a quite a nice bathroom and a large TV. We were a bit aways from the main reception area so the WiFi was not great (this was the only let down). We had a great view of one of the mountains from our window and balcony. The thing my wife and I loved most were the amenities, it had a heated pool, gym, a swimming lane pool and 7 hot tubs. The hot tubs were fantastic after a day of hiking at Rob Roy's Glacier. Definitely recommend this place.
