Wanaka is such a beautiful spot and having a beautiful place to stay while visiting is the icing on the cake. The views from the huge windows in our bedroom were spectacular - particularly in the morning with the sun slowly kissing the mountains. Our hosts, Paul and Bernie, were extremely welcoming and helpful. They provided information and advice on everything from where to eat, where to ski, where and when to collect gear, how to get to the next destination and anything else we cared to ask about. They managed all this without being pushy and with an easy charm. The rooms were cosy and I wish I could take the bathroom home with me. The heated floor was especially welcome. The bed was easily the most comfortable we had experienced on our trip so far. Breakfast was standard fare but generous and very nicely prepared and presented. In all, I can't fault or stay here in any way except that it was too short.
We booked a second night because we loved this lodge so much. The couple who owns this accomodation are incredibly helpful and friendly. They guided us to the best use of our time during the short stay we had in the area. The room was fresh, beautifully decorated, and incredibly cozy. I have high standards for beds and this place exceeded them. It was hard to wake up in the morning because it was so comfortable. But I did pull myself out of bed to enjoy the wonderful breakfasts which surpassed any other place we stayed at. The living area has a cozy chateau feel with a fire place. I wasn't planning on staying in Wanaka, but so glad we landed here and got to explore this area and stay at this lodge. This place is a gem! I loved the personal touch unlike you would get at a hotel.
The location of this place is perfect. Across from a lavender farm, not far from the adorable town of Wanaka, it was a absolute gem! The food was also quite delicious! Grateful we were able to book last minute as this detour was unplanned.
We really enjoyed out time here. The Owners made us very welcome. The afternoon tea is a real joy!!! Lovely grounds, with great views in a great setting! The rooms have all that we could ask for...! It was also lovely to sit outside, in the late afternoon....and the spa was great!! The breakfast was amazing. The Owners were very helpful with trips. Look forwards to coming back...!
Whilst taking a tour around the south island, we stayed here, sadly just for one night. Terrific welcoming couple, spotlessly clean, and exceptionally comfortable beds, and large modern bathrooms. Time didn't allow, but sitting outside, wonderful views, just needed a good bottle of wine! Breakfast terrific, and honestly, couldn't fault it, and I'm fussy! Location just outside of town, so gives you convenience and peace. Wonderful place.
We stayed one night here in early March. The approach to Maple Lodge is clearly signposted and we drove down a beautiful tree-lined drive, the house is in a stunning location. There was plenty of parking space. Berny and Paul came out to welcome us. There is a large guest lounge and dining room which is spacious and relaxing. We had the Kowhai room near to the main entrance, all the rooms have native tree names. The room was lovely, there was a little terrace where we sat enjoying the spectacular views across the garden and the breath-taking mountains beyond. Berny served us afternoon tea with scones and jam, we certainly felt very welcome here. Everything at Maple Lodge is well-thought through, guests' needs have been anticipated in considerable detail and there are the highest standards of comfort, cleanliness and hospitality. They don't serve evening meals here, but they recommended a good local restaurant in nearby Wanaka (Mazunga - we loved it!) and even made the booking for us. No alcohol is served at Maple Lodge due to local laws for B&B, but guests are permitted to bring their own. We enjoyed our overnight stay and highly recommend Maple Lodge.
Paul and Berny made us feel most welcome. Very comfortable accommodation and spacious, quiet grounds. Each room has it own patio looking out over the gardens. Afternoon tea is served every day, if you wish it. Delicious breakfast. 10 minute drive from the centre of Wanaka. We used a taxi to take us out for dinner in the evening.
This B&B is out of town but not far. The benefit of the location is its tranquility and surroundings. The overall ambience is very good. Our room was very well-appointed and we had an enjoyable stay. The host is obviously proud of his Trip Advisor rating. Well worth a visit.
Berney (from Coventry area) and Paul made us feel very welcome in their seven bedroom boutique bed and breakfast set in countryside 10 mins from Wanaka. Our room was spacious with quality fittings and an outside seating where we were served an afternoon tea of scones jam and coffee.Their property is adorned by a vast quantity of lovely maple trees, lawn. Lavender area and a hot tub. Our breakfast consisted of cereals, fresh fruit and a good cooked menu. This is a superb place which comes We would stay again without any hesitation.
Beautiful room, elegant details, spacious bathroom, fancy shower. Tasty cooked breakfast. Fresh fruit. Afternoon tea served with homemade scones. Green meadows all around, vegetable garden, good herbal smell. Remote and peaceful farm-like location (car recommended). Highly recommended.
