The Marcus Whitman is easily the premier hotel in Walla Walla, especially if you enjoy being in the hub of the vibrant downtown area. The staff were delightful, the recently renovated rooms are lovely with excellent beds, and their Marc restaurant was delicious at both breakfast and dinner. The only off note is they’ve moved to a pricing structure which is not aboveboard. In addition to the advertised price, you are charged $25 per night for an “amenities fee”. This fee covers things like WiFi and parking that were previously included in the base rate. This practice feels underhanded and is unworthy of such a fine hotel.

Nice updates, but some of them look too modern for the period style of the Marcus Whitman. Our room was recently updated and very nice. Housekeeping did neglect to fulfill a booking request, but that was remedied after we asked. We did miss the free breakfast buffet the hotel used to offer. probably too expensive to maintain.

There was a guitar (think loud rock/blues) festival in the conference room on the floor below us we could not hear it! Nice, large, quiet rooms that are well-appointed, and staff were all polite and helpful. We also really enjoyed our nightcap and dessert in the Marc restaurant bar/lounge area. All in all, a great stay.

Amazing service, comfortable and welcoming. We had a wonderful time both in Walla Walla as well as in the hotel. We were treated to a fabulous piano player in the lobby one night, enjoyed the excellent espresso in the mornings, and still didn’t want to leave the room.

In the Marcus Whitman is in the heart of Walla Walla easy walking distance to all of the wine tasting sellers. Beautiful lobby with fireplace and lots of comfortable couch seating to hang around with your bottle of wine after dinner or mid afternoon.
