Needs to be more allergy aware but good hotel

The hotel is kept clean and in very good condition. Reception staff are friendly and very accommodating. Our dining experience was ruined by the lack of attention to allergies they were notified about. This became a long torturous dinner experience as children were involved too. After informing them of my daughter’s allergies which include egg at booking and when sitting at our table , they brought out a dessert ice cream that clearly stated may contain egg. They were not sure which brownie had been put on her plate, whether it would accommodate her allergies. After sending the dessert back to the kitchen we waited nearly an hour just to be served the same thing without taking notice of the mistake. The kitchen manager’s excuse was that it was a vegan dessert but ignored the fact that it contains egg. Truly disappointing especially with the status of the hotel.

It was okay.

The place looked lovely and on arrival was booked in by a very pleasant receptionist. Even though I had sent a message they hadn’t booked us a dog friendly room but this was quickly sorted, though it wasn’t the same level as we booked. Breakfast was very disappointing. Cold plates, ran out of different items and lukewarm, which put us off eating on the night time, as I felt if they couldn’t get that right! Did ask about a pudding in the evening but they had forgotten to order and had run out, so not so fresh food. Would I stay again, maybe Would I recommend, not sure.

Everything was all just above average, expected far more. Having stayed and played at this groups properties in the past and many better ones. My small gripes are too numerous to mention. Such a shame that what could once compete with far better properties, doesn’t quite reach its potential.

Outstanding Hospitality – A Memorable Stay

From start to finish, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind, professional, and truly went out of their way to make our stay better. Their warm hospitality made all the difference! The hotel itself is beautiful, located in an ideal spot with plenty of parking and a super-efficient EV charger. The restaurant and breakfast were both excellent, offering great variety and quality. The gym was clean and well-equipped—perfect for staying active during our visit. It’s easily the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ll definitely be coming back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay overnight at Oulton Park Hotel. The staff were very welcoming, the room was first class and the evening meal was brilliant. The only problem we had was getting lost - perhaps not a bad thing in such a lovely hotel. We will be back!
