We book one day jeep tour and one night in the camp. It was my favorite experience in Jordan. The whole organization was perfect, no hurry, the food was amazing, the camp so peaceful and our guide Auwdeh (Audi) is very charismatic, always ready to joke, a real entertainer. I hope to go back to the desert for several days.
Yes, I think it was a very good choice. The whole process of booking a trip to Wadi Rum and accommodation perfectly arranged earlier on e-mail. As for me, the best individual trip option for two people. Our Audi guide took care of our comfort and peace in discovering the desert. No rush, no tourist crowd and with so much time to get to know what we wanted. Hospital tea in every bedouin tent with time to catch your breath. We were 2 weeks in Jordan but it was the best time. Dry, hot, beautiful, amazing places. The picture will not show this atmosphere. Overnight in an amazing place surrounded by rocks gives a sense of security and privacy. A meal in the evening and in the morning a hearty, tasty and sufficient. Only a few tents, canteen, bathroom. Clean and in the best order. I recommend, peace and quiet. If someone wants it at dawn, you can wander through the surrounding rocks and the desert. Thank you for your hospitality this was our best time in Jordan. B+A
My friend and I stayed one night at Bedouin directions camp, did a half day jeep tour the first day, and hiked Um Ad Dami the second day. Our 2 days in Wadi Rum was our favorite part of our Jordan trip! The tour guides were great, and the camp is amazing. It's secluded and very clean with a great view of the night sky and the food they prepared for us was delicious. Mehedi was great about coordinating our tours and very flexible when it came to our tailored requests. Bedouin directions embodies the hospitality and generosity Jordanians are known for. Insha'Allah we will see you again one day!
We chose Bedouin Directions for our visit to Wadi Rum, and couldn’t be happier. We did a one-day Jeep tour with a 30 minute camel ride, and stayed overnight at the camp. Everything was great. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable, the camp is in a great location, and the email correspondence is good, too. The desert itself is spectacular, and you really get a feel for the traditional Bedouin lifestyle.
This was my husband's and my favorite part of our Jordan visit, Bedouin directions is a great team with very nice people, a great secluded camp and a good cook. We had the best time and really enjoyed ourselves, in this camp you really get to know the Jordanian hospitality. 100% recommended, I hope we can come back one day
We took the eco budget 3-day pure hiking tour. We walked through the Wadi Rum desert for 3 full days in private with our guide Ali and it was the best "tourist tour" experience I ever had. The biggest reason for this was that we didn't feel a tourist at all, we felt like coming into a Bedouin family and just started wandering through the vast landscape. Only occasionally we passed some tourist spots and they were not half as beautiful as the true Wadi Rum. If you want to get off the grid for a few days, take this tour. And if you have Ali as your guide, you won't have a guide with you, but a funny friend. We didn't expect a lot of the infrastructure in the camp because of the low price, but wow what a surprise! The tents were perfect, the toilets and showers were nice and clean (you have to remember you are in the desert of course). The camp is also surrounded by rocks, which protect it from wind and sand (you can easily walk on the rocks for the panoramic views - 2 min walk) The food was also amazing, including some traditional dancing in the evening. I WOULD REALLY RECOMMEND THIS! The price is super low for what you get and you will really feel the desert, not only see the desert. Greetz to Ali and Mehedi from Michelle, Lenny, Jurian and Yngwie!
As a student, I and my friends wanted a good experience of as less money as possible and it was worth every penny! We booked a three-day hiking tour and loved every second of it. As photographers, we took a little bit more time than was planned for the daily hikes but the guide made no problem of it. Every day we got a great breakfast, lunch to eat during the hike and in the evening an amazing cooked meal! The camp is surrounded by tall rocks where you can easily climb to see a beautiful sunrise in the morning or the stars at night. The people are so kind and love talking to their guests. I'll always remember the last night we stayed and danced around the main tent with the people who work there and the other guests. I couldn't recommend this tour enough! You certainly won't regret it!
On the Jeep Tour you can visit many nice places in Wadi Rum, you have time to walk and the driver explain what do you can see. The lunch was excellent and I think, we had the nicest place for the sunset and also for the moonrise. The place where we slept was so beautiful and quiet. The tents are very comfortable with beds and plaids. The cooker cooked an excellent dinner and the drivers talk with us, how do life the Bedouin’s. After the dinner we danced on the fire with them, they are very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this Beduine camp. Mehedi was also very helpful for the organizations for the Taxis from the border to Petra, from Petra to Wadi Rum and then back to the border. The communication was very easy and he was already answer me if I had a question.
We had emailed Mehdi for reservation, he was very kind, easy to deal with. He sent us a detailed email to what exactly to expected and everything went as planned. We did a 6 hours Camel tour that was very unique and I was actually amazed by how cheap it was compared to any other camel tour out there. we went to the camp after which is in a unique spot surrounded by the mountains, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner was served at 6:30 (I thought dinner was overpriced but on a second thought it's not. they had to get that food all the way out there, the food was delicious and you do save a lot of money on the tour and stay compared to other camps around that area). The tent was very good compared to a previous experience where the tent made a lot of noise because of the wind this one didn't. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of blankets. It's a real Bedouin experience with amazing people, would highly recommend it.
I booked with Mehedi as a Solo Traveller. He was very kind and gave me a lot of information in advance. The communication and preparation via email was great. I got the opportunity to be on a shared tour. Just ask for it. Mehedi will do his best to arrange it. The camp is amazing. It is a bit further in the desert than other camps. You can walk around and have beautiful vistas. The food was great. The evenings were lovely in the tent together with the Bedouin and other guests. Toilets and running water - everything was working fine. The tent is cozy, you get plenty of blankets so you will not get cold during the night. I definetly recommend to spend 2 days there. If you are in good health condition it is absolutely worth it to do a hike up the highest mountain in the desert. I hope I get to return to Wadi Rum in the future and I would definetly book with Bedouin Directions again! Thank you so much for the good time and memories.
