The hotel is located right next to the parlament building and close to a lot of atractions in the heart of the city. The staff is very welcoming and helpfull. The people at the reception showed us where to go and what to do and all of their suggestions were wonderful. The room was very clean and modern. I loved the mirrors in the bathroom. Overall a short but excellent stay.
The hotel is a renovated building that still reminds of the old times, having some furniture and equipment that reminds me of a time long ago. The key to the room is an actual key (i.e. not a magnetic card), so perhaps not very comfortable a solution for persons staying for longer periods. Staff is very nice and really tries hard to make your stay comfortable
Good hotel in good location. Staff very helpful. The only disadvantage was the toilet layout. The washbasin was too close to the toilet seat. It was so close that it was not possible to comfortibly use toilet seat.
This Hotel is well situated near the parlement and not far (10 minutes walk) from the pedestrian city centre, first the staff is very cool and helpful, as there is no garage in the hotel, they gave me a card to access a garage not far from the hotel (5 minutes walk) the room is amazing and well decorated with nice view on the parlement building, very clean with all I need. I had no problem with Wifi so may be the hotel improved this compared to other people who experienced that but the problem with the lift is difficult to solve. the breakfast was excellent and it can be improved. I highly recommend this hotel.
Unfortunately only that since November 2017 fully Non-Smokers. Top Staff - cool place. Considering corporate contract. Will come again. Beware of the lift. It takes ages😂. However the front desk people make it worth staying - the literally help out with everything...
I’ve been informed that Accor turned the traditional Excelsior into a Mercure no more than a couple of months. Following Mercury standard, location is the strong characteristic but I had a few problems regarding absence of s plumber and lack of training. Feature to Jelena and Iva at the reception desk. Then goes a tip: the hotel must be prepared to receive Le Club guests. It was look like I would be there alone but I travelled with wife and son.
I visited Belgrade for business and got pleasantly surprised to see Excelsior now operates under the Mercure franchise. Personally I don't care much about this 3* vs. 4* thing - what matters to me is too feel good and comfortable in a hotel. Excelsior fully met this expectation. Got a spacious room with a lovely architecture, view on the side alley, properly refurbished bathroom and a brand new a/c system. Enough space for an armchair and working desk. Excellent bed + good amenities + perfect central location. The whole place is quiet and clean, staff very professional (they did all the paperwork very quickly and also allowed me a late check out after a single look at their screen). Special plus goes to breakfast which is definitely above the standard of similar hotels in Belgrade (even some countries in Europe). Plenty of choices, including some traditional Serbian stuff that is not easy to find nowadays :) One recommendation from my side: marking all food made of pork could be useful as foreign guests might find this information important. After I checked out I asked in the bar if they had any fresh tea (not teabags). The lady replied they only had teabags but she offered to boil fresh mint leaves that have just arrived! Needless to say the result was amazing and the whole thing really made my day. I would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the hotel last week and was very happy of the room I got (702, nice view on the city and nice setup). But despite this positive impression, there things which can be improved. THE WIFI IS NOT USABLE AT ALL (impossible to get a steady connection with decent speed), so it is impossible for professional travelers like me to work in the room (a pity in such a nice room). The lift has to be reviewed (more than 5' wait in the morning or evening to go up to and down from the room).
Belgrade is such a fascinating and amazing place to visit, and this hotel is right in the heart of it. Easy walking distance to all inner city attractions. It is right next to the Parliament House, the GPO, and two royal palaces from the 19th Century. One is now the Presidential Palace, and the other is the Town Hall. Plus lots of museums, galleries, theatres, restaurants, etc. Kalemegdan is also a must, and it is just 2 km away. Also very safe and relaxed. Highly recommended!
Lovely big room with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was disappointing as although it looked good, albeit small, it didn't work well. There was nowhere to put any toiletries, just the bit of space on the sink next to the taps. The toilet made a loud noise for a long time after flushing and then a pool of water would leak from it all over the floor. Good location for train station and city centre.
