We were there for long weekend with friends. Hotel needs update. The place of hotel is top. The beach is right by the hotel. The seawater is clear and smels great. There are sea urchins that tells that the water is clean. But sadly we had bad experience with services. The serving stuff aren't nice. I understand that the season is out, but we are also guests, and we need vacation. The good was fresh, but not serve with love. We'll not come again.
I have just returned from a stay at this hotel and, having read previous reviews, was wondering what i had let myself in for. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a hotel and what it had to offer. My room offered a beautiful view of Vis bay, it was picture perfect, we had air conditioning, which was fully functioning and easy to use, even for my techno phobe partner, Simon. The bathroom had a shower that was as powerful as any jet wash and a well used toilet. The drainage smell was a bit much for me but Simon didn’t mind it. The beds were comfortable and easily pushed together and there were ample hangers in the wardrobe, including the old fashioned wooden ones! The bar had an amazing variety and stock of most drinks, both local and international and the barman was very pleasant and polite and always laughing. We only ate at the restaurant in the morning and it was fine. The selection was reasonable, including eggs both boiled and fried, cheese and ham, bread and yogurt. The coffee was nice and strong and kept me awake all day, and there was even Tetley tea bags and HP sauce there, if you knew where to look!! The lobby was large and spacious and we even had someone playing the piano one night, which was nice. The location was ideal with easy access to the town and local bars and there were plenty of taxis available outside the hotel, Joe (the local tour guide) always sorted these out for us. The beach opposite was clean and the water was crystal clear and there was plenty of swimming and diving off the jetty, which was really fun to watch. The only downside that i can think off was someone had been a bit ill at the bottom of the stairs, but this was cleaned up immediately by the helpful staff. Apart from that i was pleasantly surprised by our stay here and Simon and I are considering staying here next year with our motorcycle club.
First positive things, hotel has nice waterfont location and easy acess to the city of Vis. Staff working at hotel is super nice especially at the restaurant, they go up and beyond to accomodate your needs. Now the negative part, rooms do not have mini fridges or air con(ours did'n) which is real nag during hottest months. No wifi in the rooms just in the lobby. No propper matrimonial bed just 2 simple beds joined together with wooden frame coming beetwen. Very bed isolation so you can hear plumbing and talking from next door. Forget sleeping in in the morning, noise from the doors and housekeeping is too much. Food is decent enough but avoid peek hours because it is too crowded.
Dirty room, has not been cleaned for a months. The hotel has not been renovated since 1980s. Staff not so helpfull. Beach is close and the restaurant was OK. View is beautifull, but we will not stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is a little jaded in the rooms, no fridge. The reception area is fine and the restaurant has a good choice of menu. The hotel staff were really helpful ordering cabs, finding out details for ferry etc. Visited the Island Of Vis for a family wedding. Small and quiet Island, excellent location for the wedding which was held in an old fort overlooking the ocean. Apart from the wedding which was really memorable, there isn't a great deal to do, ideal if you just want to chill out. Its approx. a 2.5 hour trip on the car ferry or just about 1 Hour on the catamaran. But be aware if its is windy or a bit rough the cat can be cancelled at short notice, so if you have a plane to catch don't rely on this go for the car ferry which is more reliable.
This is like a Soviet hotel for low grade party members. The staff is kind and helpful. It is clean. The food is edible. But it is ugly and cold. The water across the street is astoundingly clear and swimmable. It is great as an inexpensive bed in a very beautiful place.
As the title says, this is a hotel that's very much typical for the era it was built in, which is to say the 1980s, with very few of the later-era amenities, apart from very spotty wi-fi. It most definitely has its charm, and some of it looks nice - I have a soft spot for places like this, the absolutely-not-for-people-with-special-needs staircase entrance, the classic '80s entrance/lounge with a piano, the slightly dated look of everything. No magnet cards here, just a regular key, the functional, but slightly cramped bathroom and rooms, no fridge, small tv perhaps that we didn't even bother to turn on. Comfortable beds, a little balcony - luckily, we took over most of the hotel, but it might be awkward for some to know that a) someone could easily and pretty safely walk from their balcony to yours & b) that the sound carries just slightly too well between walls. No extra features in the regular rooms. Okay but slightly distant service - though it might be understandable as the hotel's apparently not in a great situation financially. Solid but mostly very much basic breakfast. The beach's just a stone's throw from the hotel, which is definitely a plus. It's not that far from the town center, but it can get a bit annoying if you have to walk to the Kut area of the town - but that's generally the fault of the town's layout. It's an okay place, I just hope it gets the investment and the makeover / touch-up it desperately needs. Vis deserves more.
Hotel is located very close to the center, stuff is really kind and helpful. It looks a bit old but for me its freally interesting place for art and nice rest. I stayed there by accident on a project and i had a really nice time.
I was there 7days. Everything was ok. Food and people were very nice. All rooms were cleen, but there were no AC in rooms. This is big problem when there are high temperatures(35 +). Also after 6 pm beach is in shadow so if you want to have sun you have to move to another beach. Maybe the beds on beach are too expensive for one day. Also wifi is sometimes weak and there is no wifi in rooms.
Knowing where I m going, i didn t expect much. And that was what I get. Old 1970' s hotel, with dated furniture and looks. Everything is falling apart. In the main hall Air coditioning is leaking, so you have to be carefull when passing by. Waiters and recepcionists are sooo slow. The breakfast is basic. One great thing is the beach. It is located across the street, and a plenty of space. It is a bit rocky, but the sea is crystal clear.
