Superb location. Within 10 minutes walk of most of the tourist attractions in Vilnius' Old Town. Many great restaurants are located nearby. Single room was a bit of a squeeze but comfortable and with a very nice view of St. Anne's Church. The staff at front desk and in dining room were exceptionally polite and helpful. Breakfast, especially the eggs dishes, was superb.
Really centrally located, very friendly staff. Each room is uniquely decorated to represent the person it is named after. Comfortably laid out, home made biscuits in the room .Breakfast was amazing - lots of choice. Couldn't fault anything
Three night stay whilst we explored Vilius and could not have asked for a better hotel. Comfortable, great location, amazing breakfast and wonderful staff. We stayed in the Charles Dickens room and had everything we needed. I was expecting a larger room but that was no big deal. Nice touches - underfloor heating in bathroom, the view from our room and a packed breakfast for our early flight at the end. Would recommend to all.
The themed room was fabulous, I really liked the idea. However I struggled with how warm the room was. The lovely gent on reception had to show me how to open the window. Not my finest hour. The breakfast is all that, yes really. It was great. You can pretty much chose what you want and it is cooked fresh right then. The staff were so friendly and it was an excellent experience. My only other complaint was that I couldn't work out where the bar was in the evening. I didn't want to disturb the guests having dinner. The restaurant looked good, but I would have felt a little underdressed. Maybe next time? Fantastic place, well worth a stay.
Quirky was the most frequently used word to describe this boutique hotel. Each room is different so it is the luck of the draw how large or what en suite arrangement you end up with. They do not have twin beds, so if not travelling solo or as a couple you may want to look else where. If you have vision or mobility problems the unexpected steps between rooms and access to dining areas may be problematic. Service is good, food is excellent and location in the old city is fabulous.
This is a boutique hotel in superb location – in the heart of Vilnius Old Town on the quiet side street but few steps away from the busy Pilies walking street full of restaurants cafes and attractions. The hotel does not have room numbers – they have names instead: Mark Twain, William Shakespeare etc. in the historic house. The rooms are extraordinary spacious, interiors are tasty and beautiful – you can feel history on every step. The breakfast was amazing – only a ‘la carte in a beautiful hall. The menu was generous: you could find about 10 titles of different eggs, pancakes, etc. The choice of coffees was also very good: espresso, cappuccino, normal etc. Important advice for customers – you must have enough time to enjoy all this. It was impossible to grab something and run to the conference or meeting as there was no display of food. However, there was an option to make pre-order in the evening. I certainly recommend – an excellent hotel.
A real gem in the middle in the old town. Urgent building with amazing rooms named by authors and a bright nice stairwell with lots of green plants. A quite place were you can feel harmony. Helpful staff (we were treated like Queens), comfortable beds and a fantastic à la carte breakfast. Magnefic. We loved it!
Really enjoyed our stay at the Shakespeare. It’s extremely handy for the Old Town and Cathedral Square. The staff are terrific, breakfast is great and I would recommend to any travellers to Vilnius. Great trip!
We had stayed at this property in July 2017. Easy to find, very centre located. Every room has a name and specific authentic design to it. If you are looking for something boutique and with a style , than it is a place you must stay. All good things has some minuses too. Don't be surprise if you enter this hotel with your rucksack, staff will look at you without any hurry to help. Check in will take a bit of time, but do not ask many question (especially about your bills) - They do not like it! Once you will pass a check in , wait until you get in to restaurant next day.. Seems like serve a customers it is a nightmare for them. All breakfast menu is Ala carte. Good choice and a food is tasty ( well done Chef). Did not have any dinners or drinks at the bar, just because we were not happy during a service at the breakfast.
The location in the old city of Vilnius, the good choice for breakfast, the very quiet environment, the clean amenities, and the professional staff - who could be smiling a bit more! - all of this makes many like me coming back to this hotel. The beds however (or at least mine) are a bit tired. It is very good value for money!
