Perfect stop off location

We were actually booked into a different hotel in nearby Le Boulou, but as this didn’t have aircon and the temperatures were around 40c we decided to find alternative accommodation and weren’t disappointed. Lovely clean hotel, very welcoming staff and a lovely pool to boot. Close to the picturesque village of Collioure which I highly recommend

it is a descent hotel. I would recommend it. Fast internet, friendly hotel staff who offered a mini breakfast after breakfast hours even though I did not ask for it.

The hotel is a little isolated but we like that. Staff is friendly. The bar was closed all day till 7h in the evening, it would have been nice to have a sangria at the pool, in the afternoon! No mini bar in the room, it was broken and they do not replace them... No hooks for the towels but they replace them every day and leave them on the bed. To get the water lukewarm in the shower it took 15 minutes at each time; not fun and what a waste of water. Food okay.

Cela Alenya Hotel Las Motas

Probably chose the wrong night to stay here! On arrival the hotel was preparing for an evening wedding so restaurant closed. They recommended a 'bistro' in the small village but more of a cafe. So had to travel 20 mins by car to eat. Obviously very noisy that night with a connecting door from lift to rooms banging ( no hinge). On checking out not told a 'car boot sale' in village which was not visible on entering village so had terrible difficulty getting out past all the stalls. Not a pleasant stay. Staff ok but not helpful.

A surreal experience

The hotel is of circular construction, divided into segments separated by heavy metal security doors. Every bedroom has the same type of door. Our elderly parents couldn't manage them, and excluding the bedrooms, there were 6 such doors between our room and theirs. (We were able to get rooms closer together on request). The building might have had a dual-purpose, as hotel or detention-centre. The grounds are lovely, relaxing for the inmates! Security guards, present on our arrival, looked very beefy but reassuring. Attractive dining-room, but breakfast bread and coffee not nice. The fresh fruit was better. The silent fitness instructors do a good job at clearing the tables. Hot water reached the parents' room in good quantities, ours only intermittently. Telephones didn't work. Insufficient lifts - there appeared to be only one for the whole building. But even if there had been more, guests would still have had to manoeuvre luggage through those many heavy doors. The hotel is poorly signposted in the town - surrounding roads looked alike. One or two extra signs on the approach to roundabouts would have been helpful. It's as though the small town (Alenya) doesn't want to acknowledge the existence of the hotel/detention-centre on its outskirts. With hindsight, if we had declined to take meals with our family staying in a nearby rural house, and instead invited them to stay overnight at Las Motas and dine with us on the terrace, we would all have had a super time.

We stayed at this hotel for only one night and really enjoyed it. It took some efforts finding it. Besides the bedroom and bathroom, there was also a sitting area. In addition, there was a patio outside every room. The decoration and the fixtures were quite tasteful. The pool was large and quite clean.

Las Motas, Very nice!

We stayed for 2 nights in Oct09, hotel had around 3 other guests. Hotel is new, modern, clean and very well kept. Friendly staff who were able to arrange taxi's for us and help with bus information. Rooms were a good size with new bathrooms and the bed was fine, windows overlooking the court yard. Breakfast was fresh bakery's and ham/cheese/fruit selection, very nice. Hotel is actually a 3 star (and a good one at that). I would stay there again without a doubt!

Vacations are what you make them. This hotel helped make ours fabulous. Need a car, but we had fun driving the roundabouts (which are everywhere!)

great layout for a hotel with outside walkway. high spec rooms but... double beds only (a bit lumpy ), no twins which is a pain for families. one of our rooms had no door on the bathroom/toilet area -designed open plan. there also seemed to be rather than piped music, piped aromas, akin at times to being in a "lush" shop. great if you like that sort of thing but too overwhelming for us. dinner a bit limited salad, main course and (fruit) salad for 20 e. shame spa entry was extra and not inclusive for guests but despite the array of smells intentional or otherwise, not a bad place to break your journey.

hôtel correct sans plus . le sol était sale malgré le passage quotidien des personnels de service. les tiroirs de la table de nuit couvert de crème de jour a notre arrivée. serviettes bien changée régulièrement par contre si vous le demander. calme pas d animation pendant les 4 journées que nous avons passé la bas . point de chute pour notre part entre l espagne et notre domicile. manque un frigo dans les chambres. les lumières de dehors restent allumées jour et nuit pas tres eco responsable. sinon personnel agréable pour le peu qu on les ait vu . un peu cher pour un hôtel qui a besoin d être rafraîchi.
