Hotel was centrally located, parking outside, payable on the street. We had a disabled room at the front of the hotel with a Juliet balcony, nice and big room with air con - great! Hotel has a nice lobby with free tea and coffee. Breakfast is ok, typical French fare, but terribly noisey with lots of families. The hotel does not do evening meals, but there are lots of restaurants around the square.
Great location, nice room view, easy to access everywhere and easy for parking. Next to a park so very quite sleep during night, a Japanese restruant in walking distance where I also liked a lot. Worth to come back when my next trip!
Verry friendly staff. Clean rooms. Big bathroom Private parking. In the middle of the town. Near nice restaurants. Perfect for stopping to get to the south or Spain. I will from now one always stop here. Much better then a novotel/ibis👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍
Hotel is located in the center of Villefranche-sur-Saône. There is a small parking at the back of the hotel, which you have to know. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is better than in average French hotel. Several restaurants and bars in the close proximity of the hotel.
We are from Canada my husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel back in early October, we enjoyed it very much it is a great place overall, rooms, breakfast, extremely great staff! Everything, from shoppes, restaurants, banks, groceries are all whithin walking distance. This beautiful city really is worth seeing! We so much enjoyed it all great place to stay, we would for sure stay here again!
Homeward on Road Trip 2 and we arrived here after 9pm aware that French restaurants aren’t open as late as Spanish. Surprisingly straightforward coming off the motorway, 3 roundabouts and a few roads later we pull up in the hotel’s small private parking area, the gates were locked after we arrived so it was nice and secure. A lovely chap, Cam-Minh checked us in and told us that there were two restaurants nearby still serving food. And they were very near too! Ayers Rock, an Australian bar, was practically next door but we wandered down to Brooklyn, an American diner which was fab. The hotel room was spotlessly clean, electric shutters provided privacy and quiet, with an immaculate bathroom and separate toilet and a lovely big double bed - extremely comfortable and lovely sheets. Match of the Day on the telly too! We had a great nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was 11 euros for the full works but we opted for the 5.50 euro “express” breakfast which was more than we needed - orange juice, coffee, toast, cold meats and cheese, croissants, yoghurt and cereal. Again spotlessly clean restaurant and a lovely waitress to show us everything. Lovely receptionist on check-out too (Guoda? - a lovely manner). And no-one laughed when my schoolgirl French turned into Spanish. We didn’t see the town at night but saw it was a charming French town in the morning. We will definitely stay here again - it was a dear little place with enough near the hotel to satisfy any taste in food (another restaurant, typically French, was across from the Brooklyn). Really impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the hotel and thank you to Cam-Minh for his help in getting us to a great restaurant.
Stayed over as a family of 4 on the way down to Med. We were expecting it to decent but fairly 'ordinary' as is the norm with a Best Western. The reception area was really nice, looking like something from a class above. The receptionist showed us to our room which was in a separate (older) building at the rear - our hearts sank initially, but then we go in the room and it was superb. Very contemporary and over 2 floors with the sleeping area upstairs. The basics: fantastic air conditioning, good (free) wifi, and we got a secure (garage) parking space on request (plenty of free on-street parking and also in the hotel's own open air car park). We didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on that. Good location -on the edge of the town centre with a few bars & eateries nearby. Would definitely recommend this hotel for someone who wants quality at a bargain price.
Our first praise must go to the fantastic staff member who checked us in. He was very friendly and polite - unfortunately our visit coincided with a holiday in France so many local restaurants were closed and the hotel does not have a restaurant... The reception staff kindly recommended a nearby burger place (which was excellent!). The room was very comfortable and had been cleaned to a high standard. Our room featured a balcony that looked out onto beautiful vineyard hills and parts of the town. Breakfast was good quality (I often judge a breakfast by the standard of the coffee, which in this case was great!). Whilst it was a little bit tricky to find the hotel initially by car, I would say that the location is fine. I would also say that it is worth traversing into Villefranche for this hotel because it was a great stay.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights when we were in the area for a wedding. The hotel staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. Check-in and check-out was efficient. Staff spoke a multitude of languages. An iron and ironing board were provided upon our request. The hotel’s location is very convenient to the main shopping street in the area, although we visited during summer holidays when many of the shops closed for a week or two and just left a sign in the window. The room and bathroom were immaculate - the housekeeping was consistently excellent throughout our stay. Wifi worked well. Parking was easy to come by, and there is no cost if spots are available in the courtyard. While the hotel has a single elevator, it moves quickly and never caused us any delays. Only a couple small things that could be improved: first, the bathroom amenities consisted only of one soap in a dispenser and a small bottle of lotion. While the soap is meant to be shampoo/hand soap/shower gel, it just seemed out of place in such a nice room to have such minimal amenities. Second, the television channels were very limited and the reception was spotty. This isn’t a place that you should need to watch much television, but we found it somewhat frustrating when the connection would often cut out during the evening news before bed. Overall, a very comfortable stay.
The staff were exceptionally organised, friendly and helpful upon our arrival and there was plenty of parking available. The rooms were a highlight - spacious, stylishly decorated, an incredibly comfortable bed, and shutters that ensured an undisturbed night's rest. Only stayed one night, so didn't have a chance to use the gym. Restaurants within walking distance, and a lovely park across the way to enjoy. Breakfast was pretty standard, with a good selection of options available. I would definitely stay here again.
