Set in a pretty medieval village with spectacular views, this newly built modern three bedroom, two bathroom house has everything you need for a special holiday. There is a 6m X 3m (out of ground) swimming pool, gazebo, terrace and BBQ.

Vecchia Scuola has been beautifully restored and modernised to a high standard. The main house features a stylish, well-equipped dining kitchen complete with a dishwasher, and a small yet comfortable living room with a TV. Also in the main house are two bright double bedrooms. The third bedroom is located in a separate sun house, which offers an en-suite twin bedroom with a sitting area and glass patio doors fitted with privacy blinds.

Set in the village of Sassorosso, with spectacular views, La Vecchio Scuola is an easy walking distance to 2 restaurants.

Garfagnana: Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With its stunning scenery it is the best area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities. We have close ties with an Outdoor Activities company who offer many international class adventures.

Castelnuovo, the nearby market town, has many restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets and all other types of shops. There is a tourist information office and a weekly market selling a wide variety of fashion, household goods, flowers, fruit and vegetables.

There are many small villages within 5-15 minutes drive from the house. There's lots of restaurants in the area. This is a great base to explore Tuscany.

Mountain biking, hill walking and horse riding are all available locally.

There is an excellent pre-arrival shopping service and cooked meal service which we can help you access.

Barga is 30 minutes drive away, Lucca is only 1 hour away, Pisa 1.5 hours away, Florence 2 hours away and the Cinque Terre is 2.5 hours drive away.

The village of Sassorosso has been nominated as a world heritage village due to the unusual pink stone and marble used to build the homes and other buildings.

Within easy distance of the art cities of Lucca, Sienna, Florence and Pisa this is an ideal location for a visit to Tuscany.

Staying in Sassorosso you can visit the nearby natural park of Orecchiella and enjoy a relaxing holiday discovering the beauties of Garfagnana.

Only 1 hour from Lucca it is also excellent for visiting the Tuscan cities of art, without giving up the beauty of nature and the Tuscan mountains.
