Great little hotel

A lovely small hotel on outskirts of village. Very good restaurant. Breakfast first rate. Pool very small Room difficult to keep at right temperature. Overlay a great base for a few days to explore interior of the Island.

Hotel has under gone some refurbishment although it still feels a little dated. The staff aare very welcoming though and the facilities were fine. Disappointing that there was no fresh orange juice for breakfast. The only place in our entire 2 week stay which didn't have any.

Little Gem!

This is a great little hotel and we lived it! For what it is and the price it commands it is excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and nice and could not do enough for you. Overall a great experience.

It was very lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The room was clean, cozy and comfy. Would definitely good option to stay here as you are planning hiking around.

Didn’t stay here in the end as we received message the night before arrival the hotel does not take kids. My baby is 1.5yrs old. Unfortunately I didn’t get the details nor was I asked to cancel my booking so was charged full price. Hotel.com site does not mention this hotel does not accept kids!!!

Comfortable well located hotel

We stayed in this hotel in Vilaflor for four nights. The hosts were helpful in planning local activities for us and made us feel very welcome . Our room was s[pacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were served individually and were freshly prepared. We ate our evening meal in the hotel for three nights and the food was very good. Would stay there again if we return to this area.

A lovely rustic hotel on the in the mountains and close to Teide National Park, finished to a high standard and run by friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent and what we needed for our days walking in the surrounding area. There are several nice local bars within walking distance but the hotel also does a tasting menu at a reasonable price. A great place those who want a genuine island experience.

This hotel in Vilaflor, at a 1400m elevation, is quiet and the downstairs rooms have delightfully high ceilings. It works fine in the summer without aircon. The “homey” dinners in the local restaurant are excellent (served until 2100 and can be pre-booked as half-board); the house wine from a local vineyard is very good, too. Breakfasts are also very good, with excellent filter coffee, decent wi-fi.

Great value for money!

We were holidaying in the south but wanted to do some walking/hiking in the Vilaflor area. We booked El Tejar and arrived to a welcoming smile from Lorenzo, the owner. He instantly made us feel very welcome and advised us of a few walks in the area. The hotel is placed a short distance from the pretty square so is quiet and peaceful. The accommodation was just what we needed, very clean and comfortable. Lovely fresh breakfasts were cooked to order every morning, served by Suraya, Lorenzo’s wife and set us up for the day. We ordered paella in the restaurant on our first night and really enjoyed that too. All in all a lovely couple of days ………………good value for money. We will return!

Quiet, beautiful, friendly

El Tejar is a very nice and customer oriented hotel, very friendly staff and fresh Air with beautiful View from the room. If sou Wish to stay quiet , far from touristical life, encoding the local,.... best option. Further a walk to paisaje Lunar walk, I recommend the 3,7 km path (right way) and back the other way. In the morning alone and with changing countryside aspects, is the easy and for me a bit too comfortable way back a holiday walk.

A quiet hotel, simple but with everything you need

A convenient location if you want to have a base for a range of hiking trips around and near the Teide volcano. Piece and quiet - a perfect place to rest after a full day of hiking.

Tranquil place to relax in middle of nowhere

Excellent jacuzzi, though it shuts too early at 6pm. Disappointing poor breakfast, I have never seen cornflakes served with a teaspoon in a tiny bowl with a volume of three spoons. No pastries, cheese, fresh fruit or variety of bread or rolls. There was a pancake machine which makes stodgy pancakes, it was like eating dough.

Laurenzo was extremely welcoming and we very much enjoyed the "cooked to order" breakfasts and the very reasonably priced but delicious home cooked evening meals especially the El Tejar chicken.

Family run hotel in Vilaflor

El Tejar is a small family run hotel. We found it be very clean, quiet and friendly. The restaurant provides freshly cooked Canarian/ international food and caters very well for vegetarians and special dietary needs. Ideally located for walking and trips to El Tiede.
