The building on the outside looks tired but inside the bedrooms they are fine. Comfortable and clean and fairly well equipped. I would suggest two towels per person would be better than the one but that's the only negative on the room. The food however is another thing. We had the evening meal of the day and we had two of the four possible selections. Small portions and dried up looking like it had been microwaved. The worst part was been charged 6.5 euros for half a pint of beer! We were going to have breakfast but decided McDonalds up the road would be better quality and value. Stay here for the room only.
Overnight stay on road trip to Southern Spain. More of a motel on the edge of Poitiers by a trading estate. Saying that, it was comfortable, had very good facilities and the rooms were quiet and away from the road in a deceivingly almost rural setting. Good English spoken by staff (better than our French!) who were very helpful. Has its own restaurant which served a good range of food including daily specials, and the continental breakfast bar was very well stocked and replenished. Ask for a room at the back of the complex - we were able to sit outside them in perfect peace and watch the birds flying round - and the bats as the night drew in! Basically it had everything you need for an overnight stay - well recommended.
This is a cheap and comfortable option for an overnight stay, it reminded me of an American motel. There is plenty of parking and the reception and restaurant are in a separate building to the accommodation. The rooms are basic and decorated in a functional style but are perfectly clean and comfortable with a good quality mattress and a good shower. Unfortunately the walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbours' conversations really clearly. If you are on a tight budget and are not planning to spend any time in your room other than for sleeping then the Campanile should meet your needs. It is located in a retail park and there are a few options for dinner nearby as long as you are happy with chain style restaurants.
This was our first stay at a Campanile chain hotel. We will probably try them again. We were in room 014. The room was 59.00E plus 9.90E each for breakfast the next morining. Parking is free, USA style and non secure. This is a very basic hotel, probably for traveling sales representatives and budget conscious people on holiday. It fits a niche similar to Motel 6 in the USA but is MUCH nicer than any Motel 6 we've used. The room is smallish but well organized and with adequate room for our luggage. The bathroom is very basic but clean and well maintained. The beds are clean and comfy. The key lock is a bit finicky and took a little practice to unlock the door. Slide the key, turn the handle quickly. If you wait for the green light it will probably relock. Perhaps this is only on our room. WiFi was free but slow. It was quicker in the room than in the cafe. The office is remote from the rooms. This is a two story hotel but has no lift. Our room was ground floor but we still had to use a ramp down to it. The evening clerk at the desk, and also the server in the restaurant, was friendly, helpful and she had good English. Our dinners were tasty, well prepared and service was good. Breakfast was adequate. There were not as many choices, especially of cold cuts and cheeses as at a Novotel, but it was also 5.00E cheaper, a fair trade off. We would stay at this Campanile again. We would try another location also but only after checking Tripadvisor reviews as the chain seems to have spotty reviews.
I was looking for a pet friendly hotel for an overnight stop and came across the Campanile on a booking site. Situated very close to the motorway it was easy to find and the staff were very welcoming after a fairly long drive from the Hague. The room was basic, but clean and tidy and a reasonable size for two adults and a chocolate labrador. We had a room on the ground floor at the back of the "accommodation block" and there was a good sized grassy area where we could walk the dog. We decided to eat in the hotel and I was surprised at the range and quality of food on offer. We started with small goats cheese salads, followed up with hamburgers and fries and finished with the dessert buffet and sampled a number of pretty delicious deserts. With 4 glasses of house wine and a large bottle of sparkling water, the bill for dinner came to eur 82, which I thought was a little expensive (the hamburgers were 12.50) even though the food quality was pretty high. Price for accommodation was eur 68 plus an additional 5.00 for the dog. Poitiers is a good place to break my journey when travelling from Holland, so I will probably stay at this Campanile again, though I might try one of the nearby restaurants next time.
Functional, clean and easy to find and park. This was a good motel- especially for us travelling with a dog. The restaurant was also good. Sadly they were having some problems with electricity and the power kept going on and off. Staff could not have been nicer. Would definitely stay again - really convenient.
I have stayed at this hotel many times & will do so again. All the staff are very friendly & the rooms are very comfortable. Free wifi is an added bonus. We always have dinner & breakfast here & the quality plus choices of the food are very good.
Our regular stop en-route driving down to the costa del sol.bJust a mile off the main drag Dog friendly and a vast lawn to exercise the pets. Decent restaurant with fast service and reasonable prices.
We spent a night here on our return from the UK. Efficient welcome and all fine in the room. The hot water took a long time to come through and the shower made the bathroom floor pretty wet. Beds very comfortable and management had done a lot to enhance the gardens and disabled access. Tried the new Chinese restaurant next door. Quite an experience, but will probably revert to the Italian one three doors down next time.
With a tomtom 6200 with European maps this place was not recognised! Nevertheless we did find it eventually after two false endings. Reverted to incar satnav. It is located close to the airport and in an industrial area. We were there on Saturday night and Sunday. Saturday afternoon traffic was nightmarish and if you couldn't locate the venue by line of sight difficult to determine which carriageway you should be on as there is a dual carriageway directly in front. Once there, staff friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with orthopaedic mattress making for a comfortable night. Not normally a fan of such mattresses as I have found them to firm but this hit the sweet spot for this 109Kg silver haired gorilla. The restaurant was on site with own chef who is accomplished. You could go a la carte at reasonable prices or you could buffet which was all you could eat. One French couple who insisted on sitting next to us despite wanting our privacy! went six times in the course of our a large carte two course and continued when we relocated for a pleasant glass of wine in the adjacent "lounge". I was embarrassed for the French. I can eat, but this couple made me look positively mouse like with my pickings. Still we have similar in the UK. Getting away to Ouisterham was no difficulty at all. Overall great stop over.
