The hotel is situated on the edge of the inner city. Its location was perfect for our plans. The nearby Johnstrasse U ban station was only 15 minutes away from Stephanplatz which is in the heart of the old city. The 49 tram passes the door and links perfectly with the inner circle 1 and 2 services. The hotel reception gave us very helpful advice about the bargain travel pass, only 16 euros for the 4 days we were there for all types of transport. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and facing a quiet side street. The breakfast was very good and the staff in the dining room were pleasant and helpful at all times.Just round the corner is Heidingers Gasthaus whose shabby interior is full of character but a lovely staff serve huge plates of scrumptious food of a traditional Viennese type. You would find it difficult to better this hotel.
When you book a hotel please try to book which is nearer to city center, this hotel is far from city center or any other places of visit you end up paying more to taxi service when you visit this place as traveller you hardly have time to travel by tram or metro so in my view this is not the hotel for tourists who's visiting for a day or two.
I definitely recommend Hotel Lucia when you go to visit Vienna with your family. I was impressed by the polite and friendly staff at the reception and at the breakfast. The rooms are very clean and with modern furniture, breakfast has a wide variety of options for everyone. Very important, you can easily reach all places you want to visit. You have tram, buses, underground nearby that can take you where you want in almost no time. I look forward to come back at Hotel Lucia at my next visit in Vienna.
Can catch underground train or tram to city centre. Eating places handy. Shopping centre handy. Reception staff were very helpful. Rooom was clean and tidy and was ready for us on arrival. Car parking is very limited at the hotel, so you should book a spot in advance. Cost was €11 per day.
We would come again in your hotel ,because it was very good and with a good ratio price /quality and we would also raccomend it to other persons..Specially the persons of your service were very kind and helpoful at any moment.
We can recommend the Hotel Lucia. The room was clean and quiet, the staff is very polite and helps whenever one has a question about the city, how to get downtown or about sightseeing. The breakfast room is tidy, staff there also looks after the guests in a very nice way. We will come again when we are in Vienna - we can really recommend this hotel.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights. Our room was big and very clean. The breakfast was excellent! The hotel staff were professional and helpful and spoke excellent English. Ideal location for the station, buses, trams.
Booked a single room with Austrian Airlines 2 weeks prior to arrival as a solo traveler. Journey from VIE airport is quick and efficient, with different options of travel including the U-Bahn U1/U3, Vienna Airport Lines bus or a booked transfer (which can be organised by the hotel for a fee). Reception: Upon arrival, check-in was swiftly dealt with and luggage stored until 3pm (when rooms are ready). It was evident in that moment that the hotels biggest asset is their staff, who were more than accommodating and always readily available and wanting to help. The reception area casts a large array of leaflets and guides about Vienna, but I would recommend speaking to reception directly for a local insight (for example, they organised an evening at the Opera -- which saved time and hassle). The reception area includes a single computer, a mid-sized seating area and a drinks machine (tea/coffee could be made free of charge). Room: The hotel is split between 2 buildings, with my room being in the rear. At first, I couldn't find the second lift (it is hidden behind a door at the end of a twisting corridor), but the receptionist was helpful and showed me -- even taking my luggage to my room for me! Each "mini" floor holds 6 rooms, which is beneficial in keeping the noise down to an absolute minimum. In the room, a large TV is available catering for a wide array of nationalities (inc. BBC, ORF, CNN etc.) alongside a wide desk area. The wardrobes are fitted with lots of hangers, a wide-length mirror and a free-to-use safe deposit box (instructions found within a welcome booklet). Too, in the bathroom there is a powerful hairdryer, hotel supplied shampoo/shower gel and daily-replenished towels. Air-conditioning is provided in every room, with 4 different settings -- this is only activated with the key card in the holder switch. Free WIFI is also available in all parts of the hotel, and worked the majority of the time (except in the dining room). Catering: The hotel hosts a small breakfast area to include a decent selection of fruit, bread, cheeses, cereals and mini delicacies (e.g. croissant, muffins, doughnuts). Note how efficient staff are in clearing tables, welcoming you and creating genuine conversation. It is also a plus of being a small hotel that you can speak to other guests freely without it being intrusive or over-compensated. It was overall basic but more than would be expected for a hotel of its size. Area: Lucia is located near to all-forms of public transportation, including U-Bahn U3 line / Tram 49 stop Johnstraße which can take you directly into the city centre -- if you exit left from the hotel you will find these alongside a Mcdonalds, Spar and the road taking you to Schonbrunn Palace. Please note that there are no ticket machines for the tram, however undercover inspectors are in operation at all times. It is also possible to walk into the centre if you exit right from the hotel, taking approximately 40 minutes at a gradual pace. This walk passes the Westbahnhof station, renowned shopping street Mariahilfer and takes you to the Museum Complex. Overall: I would be useful to include a minibar in the room (especially during the summer months), but this can certainly be overcame during a short city break. I would certainly choose to stay at Hotel Lucia again. It is perfectly situated not directly in the city centre, but close enough if you did want to stroll in from a late evening or travel.
Spotless hotel, extremely helpful staff, enjoyed the little garden Staff helped with all our arrangements including wheelchair access numerous times. Quiet and peaceful felt very safe Thank you so much
This hotel is my recommendation for a short weekend trip to Vienna, especially if you are visiting for a concert in the nearby city hall (Stadthalle). The biggest advantage is the perfect connection to all the public transport, and plus they offer additionally a car parking lot. The room was spacious and clean. Still you can hear (noisy) people out on the floor. The breakfast was typical “fast and basic” size. As a man with an eclectic shaver I missed the socket-outlet in the bathroom...and a mini bar.
