Friendly 24h reception, ok breakfast. Large Nice superclean rooms, ok beds. Nice bathrooms. No traffic noise. No smoking rooms available. Located in old typical large wienian style apartment, and rokoko-Like furnished.
The location can't be faulted, it's definitely very convenient. There are other charms to the hotel such as the lift (quite a novelty), and the spaciousness of the rooms. However, we booked this as 4 star accommodation - it's not. The facilities are 3 star at best (pay for water the room, the only tea/coffee facilities are at an extra charge at reception, no safe in room, no shelving for clothes - just hanging space), the bathroom in our room was tiny meaning the towels were shoved in under the sink, the bathroom is higher in level than the room, except that this isn't noticable as the step is mirrored so just reflects the carpet around it. The area around the lift and staircase is dirty - marking all over the walls that show it's clearly not being maintained. There was a dirty tatty rug outside the door to our bedroom wing - this had no rubber edges or base to keep it in place for people walking over it or rolling a suitcase, so it was basically just a trip hazard that would be better off in the bin. The bed was okay, but my partner found it on the small side due to the bed having a footboard. Overall the accommodation was okay. Didn't feel ripped off, but don't think I'd stay there again or recommend it to others.
Bad service far away No air conditioner loads of no disrespectful guests and scorn I complained about the noise in the morning when their parents offered me breakfast the next day and did a refurbishment on the room wall I asked for a refund
My wife & I are at present staying in a spacious room in the Baronesse. On arrival we were greeted with a huge smile from Olanna & Darcy on the front desk. They explained the hotel layout clearly and have been very helpful with any questions we had. Apart from our huge clean room with free Wi-Fi, large comfortable bed, and lovely shower the whole hotel is extremely clean. Breakfast was served in the most beautiful room and very yummy with lots of choices. There are excellent restaurants around and only a short stroll and you are in the centre of Vienna. Well done “Baronesse” we are having a fantastic holiday. This is a "Hidden gem in Vienna", stay here and you won’t be disappointed.
Disclaimer: I actually have not stayed there . and have not even seen the place. However, I have made a reservation for an 11 day stay. A week before the trip I checked with them to see that all is set (including reservation number which showed up in Tripit app) and they told me that they never heard about me. So I scrambled to find a different hotel only to find out later that Baronesse charged me $135 for not showing up! None of my emails to them answered and I brought it up with credit card company.
Friendly staff, good location, stylish rooms; no AC, just fans in the room, Billa supermarket around the corner (doesn't work on Sunday), you can go to the hotel from the airport by train ( Praterstern) and tram number 5 after that, very good restaurant (Centimeter) only 7 min by walk.
Our first time in Vienna and we were recommended by friends at the University to stay here. The reception took great care of sending a car to pick us up at the airport (for less than we hear the metered cost!) and did their best to take care of us during our stay. We had a large room at the front - 113 - which involved tram traffic but nothing too worrying or sleep-depriving, for us anyway. We stayed during a heat wave and there was a fan but no a/c--again this was fine with us since a/c can be a real problem. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was very up to date and cleaned daily--though it has been a while since we've seen a loo with a shelf to assist inspecting what you have produced. Breakfast was good value all around--fresh fruit, really decent coffee, fresh eggs, yoghurt, more bread choices that our 4 days allowed us to sample, and the usual cold meats and cheeses. The wifi wasnt working until the third day of our stay, but this is an urban problem everywhere. There were too many places to eat in easy walking distance--a wide selection from Spanish and Indian to Italian, Greek and Middle Eastern--and lots of cosy bars too--while the transport hubs were just down the street. Perfect. We will stay here again next time we find ourselves staying in Vienna!
Pension Baronesse stands out as a very convenient, not pretentious choice. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is generous and, people working there are really helpful. The location is quite, safe, very central and well served by tram, metro or by feet. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend Hotel-Pension Baronesse, as it provides all amenities that a traveler would wish for in a small hotel. The best parts in my stay was the fact that the room was super-clean and also, the location. The hotel may not be in the center of the city, but all the museums and the city center are within a walking distance. What is more, there is a tram stop just around the corner that connects with the subway, this option proved helpful in the rainy days.
Location is great - near the rathouse and U ban station. Rooms are big and tidy. Staff is friendly. Hotel is located in the authentic building in the historical center. Elevator is awesome. Rooms needs to be a bit renovated.
