Stayed in this hotel for 7 nights during Easter week and it was a very pleasant stay. Location is perfect for walking all around the touristic sites and for all modes of transportation. Metro, tram, taxi, boats all right at the door! Good restaurants close by. Breakfast was very nice with good quality food. Staff very pleasant. The only suggestion I would have is to offer bath robes and slippers. We had a superior double room with nice balcony at the back of the hôtel. There is less of a view but it is quieter. Bed are comfortable but are very firm.

A bit of a caveat before I begin here, I hate being a solo traveler and hence some of you may find my reactions over the top. On reaching the hotel, I was a bit worried about the choice I made. While it didn't have completely run down exteriors, the aesthetic didn't appeal to me. I felt that the pics of the building itself may have been misleading. Since my non reimbursable booking had already been done, I had no choice but to brave what was to be bestowed on me. The check in experience changed my view completely. Ana welcomed me with such a big pleasant smile that I was immediately at ease. In addition, the contemporary modern decor in the small reception area was quite nice too. I had made a single person reservation which is a great option for solo travelers but I was honestly worried that the room would be too small. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked into my room. Though compact, it was very smartly designed with nice contemporary aesthetic choice of interiors. My reservation had breakfast included. The restaurant is quite small and doesn't seat too many people. However, the breakfast team were turning around tables quite quickly. It was fairly crowded the first day I arrived for breakfast so I timed my arrival to beat the crowd the following days. That idea did work. And with breakfast available all the way up to 11 am, it gives you enough choice to pick a time that suits you. I need to compliment the breakfast team, they smiled through service despite the large crowd of guests. Eggs are to order (which is really good and tasty) and there are enough cold breakfast options too which work buffet style. I'm not a coffee drinker but I have to say that the coffee I had at breakfast here was very good to say the least. In the evenings the restaurant would serve complimentary crossiants, cake and coffee too. I never was in the hotel to try it but I was pleased that option was available. The location is great. Literally a stones throw away from the underground train station and the tram stop. Enough public transport options to choose from. St. Stephens Cathedral is about an 8 minute walk from the hotel which is the closest tourist attraction. Pretty much all other tourist attractions are walking distance from St. Stephens Cathedral. Also, the City Airport Train stop is a 12 to 15 minute walk to the hotel. Reception desk is super helpful if you need any tips or advice on sightseeing. If I ever visit Vienna again, no doubt, I'll stick to this hotel. A big thumbs up! I didn't give them 5 stars because I don't think any hotel in the world has reached that level of perfection. There is always scope for improvement. I'm signing off as a very pleased customer!

We received a warm welcome on our arrival and again when the same receptionist was working on the breakfast shift next morning. I can honestly say that the employees are some of the friendliest, happy and courteous we've encountered on our travels. We reserved a standard room with breakfast. Our room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage for a long weekend. Although our room overlooked a busy street we slept very soundly. Capricorno's location was great, plenty of places to eat nearby, efficient and reasonably priced public transport on your doorstep. Handy place to be if you simply like to wander. Housekeeping standards were excellent, our room was spotless as was the bathroom. The shower was fabulous, consistent temperature and pressure. I'm being picky but I wasn't a fan of the hand soap and shower gel, take your own. Breakfast was super. A good selection of continental meats and cheeses, tasty pastries, freshly cooked eggs and good coffee. We felt that Capricorno was excellent value for money and would highly recommend it.

Thanks much Deanna to serve my wife and me on our stay, she is a funny lady and always take care about what we need. It is great to gain a good service and good smile from the hotel staff on the morning, also we love much the breakfast and it is wonderful on enjoying it. Also, really thanks much all the staff that help us on our stay! Moreover, the hotel is a central hub of the City and easy for us to go everywhere. We can even walk for some famous sights from the hotel.

We picked the hotel as it looked a good location - about a 10-15 minute walk from the main Viennese train station and 2 minutes from the underground - and were not disappointed. Due to an early morning flight from Edinburgh we arrived a couple of hours before the advertised check-in. We planned on just leaving our bags at reception and doing some exploring but we were told it wasn't a problem to go to the room straight away as it was ready. This was our first interaction with staff and over the course of the three-day stay every other one lived up that degree of friendliness and professionalism. The room was modern, well-decorated, and the balcony view over the water was excellent. For anyone staying in Vienna I would heartily recommend this hotel.

We just stayed at this great little 4* hotel on Schwedenplatz at the edge of old town. The rooms are large by European standards and the bathrooms are wonderful and modern (I wanted to bring the shower home). We reserved a superior room with balcony, so the room had lots of light. There was no noise from the street--the sound insulation was great. The breakfasts are delicious, lots of choices, and the staff is really welcoming, always friendly and smiling. We could get anywhere in Vienna very quickly because the U1 metro station is right there, and all the sights and restaurants in old town are within a 5-10-minute walk. The ferry to Bratislava leaves from right across the street.

We loved our stay. Excellent location to city center and right on the Danube. 20 steps away from the metro station and close to the airporter pick up location. The staff was great. Super friendly and helpful. Deanna on the breakfast team was awesome. Remembered our morning coffee orders and asked if that's what we'd like as soon as she saw us. Great breakfast selection. Our room was also great. Nicely decorated and very comfortable. Highly recommend staying here when you visit Vienna. Thanks for a great stay!

Great, friendly, helpful staff! Location is perfect.... steps from the subway, right on the Canal (which is the best place for a later afternoon beer in Vienna) and a 5-10 minute walk from the main pedestrian areas.

Have just come back from staying at the Capricorno for a few nights and cannot praise it enough. Location is fantastic. Easy to walk to main sights, which we did, metro station just outside where we went one stop then changed to the CAT airport train, restaurants and bars close by. Perfect! Staff were very nice and breakfast was a selection of pastries, eggs cooked different ways and meats, cheeses etc. Room very clean and comfortable for a city break. I take objection to the gentleman who reviewed the hotel below saying that people who gave good reviews probably stayed in student accommodation. That couldn't be more further from the truth. As to it being a graffiti strewn area with drunks then has he never visited other cites? Barcelona, Paris, Venice all have these problems too.

Very nice small hotel, fantastic location to walk anywhere you want to go in Vienna, staff are very helpful and speak English. The location, comfortable room, and good breakfast are really a great value for the affordable price. It's super easy to get here coming from the airport, take the city train and then it's just a 10 minute walk and you're checked in and ready to start touring.
