We spent four nights in Hotel Alpha recently. The Airport Bus stops at the back of the Rathaus, 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is in a very good area of Vienna with several restaurants nearby. Our room was quiet with a comfortable bed, a good shower, safe and refrigerator. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of cereals, cold meats, cheese, fruit, yougurt and bread. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Trams and underground connections to the city centre are within five minutes walk. Travel to the centre takes about 10 minutes. We will certainly stay at Hotel Alpha if we return to Vienna.
Stayed four nights in two rooms as had teenage kids. Really was a good choice, clean, friendly and helpful staff and free wifi was great. We could help ourselves to tea and coffee whenever we wanted which was nice. We had a small fridge in the room and there is a spa supermarket just minutes walk so as it was hot the kids could have their coke etc without paying in cafe all the time. One cafe charged 12 euros for two waters and a coffee! Would certainly recommend this hotel.
I stayed in this hotel for Christmas, it was very warm and the staff were welcoming. They offered me one night because I arrived earlier during the night, so I thank them for that. They have a very good breakfast and coffee at your disposable all the time. Rooms are modern, altough they need to improve some things. The first one is cleaning the carpets, second some power outlets didn't work and third there was some weird noise going on all night (ventilation I guess). Very central and near the tram station.
The staff was very helpful. Location is good and within the walking distance from metro station and all major tourist attractions. Its located on a quiet street just beside the restaurants. Room for solo traveler is small but sufficient with all provisions.
This hotel is a bit tired and is in need of renovation but in saying that it was very clean, staff helpful, continental breakfast was very good lots to chose from. Found rooms very small including the shower, pillows were the worst. The doona didn't cover the bed, they really need to upgrade. Air con worked fine and had a small fridge. Train station nice and close, easy to work out only three stops from the main centre. I was travelling alone and felt very safe at night.
We stayed here for six nights in July - the height of the tourist season in Vienna. It offered a serene, air conditioned retreat. The hotel is in an ideal location - close to the Ring, a short walk to galleries and key sights and yet just far enough off the main drag to be extremely quiet. We were placed in a very spacious room with a small sofa and chair, with an excellent bathroom and beds. The breakfast is first class. Staff is helpful and pleasant. We really enjoyed the local restaurants that surround the hotel. This location is very good value for the money - highly recommended.
Good friendly hotel with nice and friendly staff. Affordable rooms and good breakfast. Location of hotel nearby rathaus and metro 'rathaus'. In hotel frre coffe and tea for guests during whole day. Air condition in the room available.
We stayed here for 5 nights during very hot weather in July so were very thankful for the air-con which ran day and night and was controllable within the room. We were on the 4th floor and had no trouble with noise at night. The room was a bit tired - stained carpet and bathroom could do with being re-tiled but everything was spotlessly clean and the shower was good although on the small size. There was a fair bit of storage and also a fridge. Free wi-fi is available throughout the hotel - reception will provide passwords etc for up to 4 devices per room. There is an elevator from reception to the upper floors. Reception and breakfast staff were all very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very good - plenty of choice including scrambled eggs and sausages - there was also bacon one morning. Coffee and tea are available 24hours from a self- serve machine in the guest lounge and no- one objected to it being taken upstairs to your room. We found it to be a fair walk to get to most of the main places of interest so tended to stay very local for meals at night to save another walk down the same streets. ( Marienhof Restaurant -very good traditional Austrian food, iffy service at times - is at the end of the street if you turn left from the hotel). I would recommend this hotel but if you want to be really central it might be worth paying a bit more.
My daughter and I spent three nights here in June 2017. We choose it for its location and good price. We reserved through the hotel website-no problems. Reception staff were very helpful and informative. Check in was easy and in fact we arrived early at 11am and only had to wait about 30 minutes for our room, which was nice after an overnight flight. The room was very comfortable and clean. Wifi was strong. Breakfast was included and it looked great, but we aren't breakfast people so we passed. We walked just about every where from our hotel except the Schonbrunn palace, we used the metro. There are restaurants and cafes nearby the hotel. The only downside was the noise one night, we were on the street side, so we heard some late night revelers and some early morning trash pick up. I would stay here again, in fact I will be in Vienna at Christmas for the markets and will book this place again because of the location.
Really nothing to object about in this hotel. The prices are good. I stayed in a single room which was quite small but the double rooms look larger. The air conditioning works really well. The staff speak English. There is a good breakfast. Also one of the stops on the Airport Bus, Rathaus/ Frederik Schmidt Platz, is quite close to the hotel. Only note of caution is that the hotel isn't that close to any sights and walking to the sights isn't that pleasant or feasible. (You can walk to the Hofburg thru a garden in 10 mins and that is quite nice.) So budget for a public transport ticket.
