Stayed here for our trip. Situated in the Hernals district away from the city centre. Good sized rooms and a superb choice for breakfast. Transport to the city is easy by using the excellent tram system, the stops are outside the hotel and will take about 15 minutes to the centre. Suggest you buy the transport tickets so you can jump on and off the trams or subway.
Beacuse of serious illness in my family i had to cancel my booking in hotel. As, i was late few hours in cancelation, they didnt allow me to do that. It speaks a lot about them, as they dont care!!!!!!
The hotel is near to the U6 metro stations, so it's well linked to the city centre. The neighborhood it's multicoltural but not noisy. In the hotel the public spaces and the rooms are clean and the staff is very kind. The rooms were not big as I expected, especially the bathroom was very small. Very good breakfast.
Will definitely recommend this hotel.. good service from the initial checkin where they let us check in a couple of hours early. There seemed to be a nice coffee bar in the reception not that we used it however. The room was smart, clean and it was spacious. We had the maid come round in the mornings to make the bed which was a nice touch. It is about 20 minutes walk down one road to get right into the centre of Vienna which was ideal. The wifi was very solid here.. enough to steam Netflix in the evening no problem.
Me and my husband stayed at "Exe Vienna" and felt happy to write review for this lovely hotel. Location is good just couple of minutes walking distance to the nearest underground and connection lines. Rooms were cosy and comfortable, staff smiley and helpful, breakfast versatile and delicious! Gym and swimming pool are extra benefits!
I stayed in Hotel Exe Vienna with my dad after we had spent a few days in Graz. We had stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it so decided to return. We encountered a small problem with the 44 tram being out of operation due to works on the line. My dad has some mobility problems and it wasn't ideal to climb the steep decent from the U6 to the hotel with heavy suitcases. This obviously isn't the hotel's fault but we may have considered a different hotel had we known of the closure prior to our trip. On arrival, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and had excellent air-con facilities. The flooring was beginning to chip in places but didn't detract from the overall quality of the room. The hotel have also improved on the complimentary toiletries which I thought was a lovely touch. The pièce de résistance is the swimming pool. It is absolutely stunning and one day I got it to myself for half an hour which was utter bliss. The only downside was the flooring, after showering and walking out onto the floor, I fell with significant force. I am not a clumsy person by nature and I feel this could have been prevented if the flooring had something with a bit of surface tension rather than flat smooth stone but it did not put me off returning the following evening! The breakfast is of high quality and nice variety with very efficient staff. The free wifi is also worth a mention, it has a strong stable connection which can sustain a brief video call which is great for a free service.
My boyfriend and I had booked to stay at their more budget chain of hotels (Hotel Mate Independence) down the road from Hotel Exe Vienna. We arrived at the very worn hotel with low expectations due to trip advisor comments and the low price but was delighted to find a note on the door saying all Hotel Mate guests were to stay at their sister hotel (Exe) due to refurb. We were warmly welcomed at Hotel Exe and basked in their air conditioned entrance. We were very early to check-in (10am, check in is 2pm) but they said to come back at 12.30 as they will try their best to have our room ready quickly and said we could leave our luggage in their secure room whilst we explore the city and go for breakfast. To our delight they had our room ready dead on 12.30. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is a twenty min walk to the centre, downhill. Only minor negatives I would say is that although a mini fridge is provided there were not any coffee or tea making facilities in the room, also the pillows were so flat they felt pointless. I must give the staff credit though I requested extra pillows and they were brought up within a couple of hours with no fuss. I also requested an iron which was brought up within ten minutes however rather oddly, they do not have ironing boards.. Overall a fantastic hotel, the staff were most accommodating. We did not have breakfast at the hotel and cannot comment.
So glad we chose this hotel for our recent stay in Vienna. The Hotel Exe is in a great location just 5 minutes walk to an underground station with fast frequent connections to the city centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet. The room was clean and comfortable with lovely fluffy soft towels. The indoor pool and gym were an added bonus. Definitely a hotel to recommend.
We booked 2x twin rooms spending 6days in Vienna. Site states 4*hotel but I would not believe all you read. Also says just over a mile to city centre, but with the no. 44 tram not working at the moment it's a little more time to get into the centre. Location of the hotel is on a street/ area with a very small number of places to eat and no shops. To get to the Big bus tour route you have to take 2 trams or walk for over 25 min. The hotel rooms have mini bars but no tea coffee making facilities. Breakfast buffet has a good choice but was very busy running out of plates etc often. Staff are helpful. Small pool and very small gym. Rooms are in need of a paint and new floors. Hall way carpets are stained and tired. Bathrooms are in need of a facelift I would say 3* hotel.
It is a good hotel in Vienna. It's little bit far from centre but ease to get there by metro. Room was clean and tidy. There are elevators in hotel. And we had a very nice view from the window. Breakfast was just normal.
