best stay, nice rooms, taking care of enviroment, best food and nice selection, totally recommended and nice staff overall very good, good value for your money.... close to shopping nice view located close to everything
Very nice hotel and friendly stuff. Breakfast was really good, very wide variety of food. I'm always happy if hotels have some pancakes and pastry. But we were not happy with our room. It was way too warm in the room and it was not possible to open window either. We adjusted thermostat, but it didn't help. Elevator was broken so we had to carry baby and stroller up and down stairs to get to the second elevator. We were told that elevator was often broken.... Our room could have been a bit bigger as well. We were two adults and two kids..with a double bed and sofa bed out there were not much space to move around. Also the light in bathroom was very bright and went on on a sensor, so we had to run in and out very fast not to wake up kids during the night.
Great location and a swift check-in. Claustrofobic small room in the 4 floor (401), the bath-room door stoppes more than half way due to the bed, so you have to sneek into the bathroom. A very cold room, maybe due to the extreme weather outside! Fantastic breakfast and staff! Overall a good stay!
This hotel Looks Nice and have a Good location, although nightclub music from next door can be annoying late at night thursdays. They put a gym inside a sauna with no extra fan so I guess Im not working out as I had planned to. I lasted three minutes in there. Just How did You come up with the idea of a combined sauna/ gym? Im Sorry but that is not a very functional service. Staff is Nice. Rooms are Ok but some rooms have incredible noicy lamps over the bed. Some kind of eletric sound. So, far from the most functional hotel I have stayed in. Clean and fancy though.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Friendly welcome and a surprise upgrade to a superior room, which was very nice for our romantic Valentines break. Room was a good size, with 2 floor to ceiling windows, that didn’t open, overlooking a grass patch between the various blocks of rooms. There was a nice wet room bathroom (set up as disabled friendly with bars and high toilet), but there was no mat for coming out of the shower, so the floor was very slippy. At 2am the room was a sauna like 24.8oC, the windows didn’t open, air con wasn’t working and the radiator was on full, and could not be switched off... we called reception and the very nice Night manager (Henrik) came up to have a look, he couldn’t fix it, so offered us another room. So off we wandered to another wing of the hotel to the only other double room that was available. It was cool, the windows openable and the bed comfy, so we managed to get a few hours sleep. There were no glasses in the room, so unable to have a drink unless purchasing from the minibar and also no coffee or tea making equipment, so we got up earlier than we had planned to wander back across the hotel to our original room, which was now a super toasty 25.6oC! at least we could have a drink though! While getting ready to shower, the room door opened fully and there stood the housekeeping lady. She had not knocked to see if we were there, she just opened the door and stood staring at me, (naked!) then said sorry and walked away, I shut the door myself, which was interesting as it opened out into the corridor, so I was technically stood in the corridor naked! The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice, and very friendly, helpful staff. On check out we were offered a discount of NOK200 (£20) on the rate we paid, which we took, but it didn’t make up for he lack of sleep, inconvenience of moving rooms or the embarrassment that had occurred.
The hotel is well decorated and has a contemporary feel. All the staff were very helpful and professional. Check in was efficient and the quick The breakfast was varied and the freshly cooked section was fantastic.
Perfect for an overnight stat in Kristiansand. Friendly staff, (Newly?) renovated room and hotel interior in general. Super friendly restaurant staffnand very delicious dinner. I will be back! Didn’t get to testnthe gym, but running should be done along the sea front in Kristiansand any way...
The Ernst is an excellent choice should location be important to you. The rooms are varied in size and facilities but are all fine, some just a bit too small if you are staying more than a couple of days. The general facilities are good. A decent bar and restaurant and breakfast excellent. The gym is not large but equipped sufficiently for a decent workout.
Stayed at the hotel for business, one night. Had a great first impression with swift and helpful staff. Room was ok clean, silent, large shower and bathroom. They were helpful with directions and where to find some dinner, they also have a ok bar, nice seating area and ok minus breakfast. Would have loved more fresh pressed juice or smoothies, otherwise they had everything you would expect from a Norwegian hotel breakfast. Price was ok, especially taking in consideration the location, service and a good night sleep. They have a small parking garage at the hotel, but remember to pre-book this. They also have a public parking garage 300m away for 160NOK/24h with plenty of space.
Arrived just after midnight due to delays with train from Oslo. Had already informed about my late check-in and when I arrived at the reception the wonderful night manager Nils Henrik greeted me with his usual smiling self and awesome customer service. I had already been checked in and got to my room only to find a nice and clean room. Due to a hectic morning I decided to order breakfast delivered to my room, as for Norway this was not too pricey and breakfast was delivered on time and was satisfactory. Not the cheapest hotel in Kristiansand but that is weighed up for location, location, location. Main street is close by, so is the ferry terminal and trainstation, no need for taxi or public transport.
