Situated in the center of Kristiansand within walking distance of sights, restaurants and shopping. I attended an expo at the hotel and it was convenient to stay there as well. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room (402) was very small, but clean and quiet. The bed was comfy, but the tv was on the small side and I wound up using my iPad most of the time. Too bad the Wifi was nearly nonexistent. I had problem working as the WiFi dropped out all the time. When watching Netflix it buffered constantly. Very annoying. The bathroom was small and I had some trouble getting in and out of the shower stall (I’m of normal build just FYI). There’s a gym which offers some free weights, a stationary bike, a crosstrainer, two treadmills and a machine where you can do basic exercises. Ok for a hotel gym, but there’s so much potential wasted here. Breakfast offered a wide variety that should please most guests. The even had a chef who I think was making pancakes. In general I really liked the hotel and its staff, but as the lack of working WiFi made it hard to work and play I can’t give a higher rating than 3/5.

One of the best hotels i Kristiansand. Very helfull og service minded reception. Single room are small but very nice designed. Good and service minded bar but could have a couple of more food choices on the meny. The in door parking are very narrow so be aware, easy get stuck if you have a big car. Excellent breakfast!!!!

Very good location, just a block from the Marken pedestrian area with numerous shops and restaurants, short walk to Bystranda beach and ferry to Denmark. Main complaint we have was our room had sloping ceiling, and we could not stand up in about 1/3 of our small room. The ceiling was so low in one area, that even top of chair hit ceiling. For Americans: remember many Norwegian hotels do not furnish wash cloths and bath mats

The hotel is very well located in the city centre, close to the bus and train station without this being in a dubious location. In spite of quite a lot of traffic outside, it was nice and quiet inside. The rooms toward the streets had windows that could be opened. The rooms and the reception area come across as a bit dark with all the brown colour scheme which is in fashion in many hotels these days. There was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room I stayed in, so if you prefer to have that in your room, make sure to book one of the right category of rooms! The staff was very diverse regarding service. When I checked in, there was not any information given, nor anything to make me feel welcome. The staff in the breakfast room did not even look at the guests, let alone aknowledge anyone. The breakfast itself was really nice. Fresh omelets being made, lots of nice fresh fruit, lots of choices. The breakfast room had good capacity, but a bit dark in corners. The bed was a bit soft for my liking, and the room had carpeted floors, not my favourite thing in a hotel room. The room was also a little bit worn around the edges. The minibar was quite good, the tv didn't have many channels. The standard room is not particularly big, but absolutely adequateThe desk in the room was a bit low, so it was not very handy as a working desk for any length of time. The air condition wasn't very effective either, but with the possibilities of opening the windows this was a minor problem. But I wouldn't want to have a room facing inwards towards the reception area.

Loved this hotel! Located in city center, close to shopping, restaurants and the city beach. Nice room and bathroom, tea and coffee facilities. We had a spacious excecutive room. Nice breakfast. Hope to be back!

It is quite expensive this hotel. But it is very nice and the staff is positive and pleasant. The rooms are a bit small, but the standard is quite high. We have the deluxe room. It had ok size bed, TV, mini bar and the bathroom was quite nice. Big shower though.

Modern hotel in the middle of town. Excellent service at check-in and a breakfast buffet to die for. We booked fairly late as the visit was quite ad hoc, and still got a room for a descent price. I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Kristiansand with work, and this is by far the best compared to the others I've stayed at. We arrived by car, and getting a place to park the car for the night was no problem at all. The only thing that I did not appreciate was the incredible slow elevator.

One night stay, early check in offered & modern facilities. Room was quiet, cool & could be made dark with blackout blinds - perfect for sleeping. Bathroom was a little small but functional. Bar service was outstanding and checkout smooth, my best hotel in Norway.

Pros: Very good breakfast, Clean rooms, Friendly staff, Perfect location, Good mini bar, Very quiet room and good sleep. Cons: The lift was small, very slow and couldn't fit more than a few people so with the baby buggy it was a long wait. Same with getting into the hotel as it's not pram or wheelchair friendly. The rooms didn't have any body cream or tooth paste. Shampoo that was stuck into a bag on the wall was bad and gave my little one a skin reaction. No water bottles or tea making facilities. We had a baby and couldn't boil water to make some food cause as mentioned no kettle, the hotel decor was tacky and trying too hard maybe. Looks a little outdated. Maybe don't try too hard with tacky arrangements and focus bit more on individual rooms.

Stayed there for 2 nights with baby and dog. Negative: Check in was 15.00 hours, but we were told to come back at this time, so we did, only to be told it will take longer and we should go back to town, were we just came from (with dog and tired baby). In all fairness could have gone for a lukewarm tea in the lobby. Room was a family room, which was more expensive and smaller compared to other Clarion family rooms. We tried to move the couch to put in the baby crib and were disgusted by the amount of trash and hairs under the couch. Also the baby crib arrived even later... after l=already a late check in... Positive: staff friendly, location very good, breakfast good. The interior deco is interesting, you may like it or not so much... All in all a few unnecessary issues which made the stay unfortunately very disappointing.
