Highly recommend this hotel. It is only a 2km walk, along the river, to the center of Verona. The hotel has secure underground parking so if you have a car it is perfect. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the staff are extremely gracious and helpful.
This is a Nice hotel with helpfull and Nice staff and safe parking facilitet. Breakfast is good for a italian hotel and coffee aswell. Walking distance to center of Verona is around 2 kilometers so Do not be affraid of using your legs.
I was there on business so i didn't need to be in the middle of town. Which was handy... Arriving late, it was difficult to eat within walking distance, and the hotel didnt offer anything. Room was fine, but I did get mosquito bites (probably here) and during the night someone was smoking so that the smell was very obvious in my room. I did mention it, and they were apologetic. Saying all that, the staff were decent, the room a nice size and breakfast plentiful and decent. Not my favourite, but it wasn't over expensive.
The hotel was ok but wallpaper missing from walls and shower very dated makes me question the 4*. But the staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice but i have to say it was like sleeping on a concrete slab!! It was the hardest bed i have ever slept on but maybe some people like this :/ definately not me. It was a short bus ride into Verona town centre and you could buy bus tickets from the hotel reception for €1.50 which were cheaper than buying on the bus. Overall it was a pleasant stay and i would return but maybe with some springs for the mattress :)
I will start with the negatives -It is about a 30 -40 minute walk into town (depending where in town you want to go). That is fine unless you want to pop back for a shower. It can feel very long after a day of sightseeing in the heat! No tea/coffee facilities in room Positives - comfy bed - most powerful shower I've ever had in a hotel room. Big room. Everything was clean and fresh. Staff were very kind and even printed our boarding passes for us. Everyone spoke English -
It was alright but honestly I splurged on this hotel as a one-off treat so I was looking forward to some luxury after paying as much as I did, and I don't feel like I got much more than what I usually get for half the price. My room wasn't quite as luxurious as the pictures suggest, it is essentially as small and basic as any typical Italian hotel; were it not for the room service and mini-bar I would have expected this to be a 3-star hotel. Very few plug sockets too, and none near the bed so I had to sit in a metal chair by the wall in the evening while my phone charged! Definitely expected more from the price and the hotel listing. That said, the people complaining about there being too few lunch/dinner options at the hotel need to get a life haha get out and explore Verona instead then! Good location; fairly quiet, a bit spooky at night but as a lone female I was perfectly safe. The number 11 bus leaves a few times an hour from right outside the hotel to the train station (and I think onwards to Piazza Bra/the arena). The 28-minute trek to the train station isn't a pleasant walk but if you allow more time you can walk via Piazza Bra, which is allegedly a 25-minute walk but feels much shorter, as it's past two large and pretty piazzas (good lively place for dinner if you don't want to walk far from the hotel, and lots of places to pick up a gelato on the walk back at night!) and along the Arno with a view of the castle bridge. From there it's another 15mins to the station but there are two large supermarkets in Piazza Bra which are good for breakfast. Failing that there's a Lidl very close to the hotel which actually has better (and cheaper) pastries and bread! Couldn't find a late-night supermarket nearby but the Pam in Piazza Bra is open 'til midnight. Offered a free shuttle service to/from the opera. Very clean room and communal areas, a couple of English tv channels which is a rarity in Italy, good selection of free toiletries, spacious shower with shelf and a seating area (good for shaving your legs tbh haha). Hairdryer was good enough that I ended up not using the one I brought with me which is rare. Mini-bar was stuffed full of goodies but there was still room for a few of my own drinks! At check-out they simply asked me if I'd had anything from the mini-bar that needed to be added to my bill, I appreciated that trust! Also one night I came back and the bathroom light immediately blew; I went down and asked reception if they had a replacement bulb but within 45 minutes someone came up to my room and repaired it for me, very good service for 10.30 at night! Would stay here again if I booked in advance and got it for a better price!
Stayed 2 nights for the Opera. Good quality hotel. Were advised by the Tourist Information not to walk back late at night. Strange, my sister lives in Italy and has no concerns. Anyway, we were delighted on check in to be told the hotel offers a lift to the Opera 6pm and back immediately performance finishes - free of charge. Wonderful and thank you. The 3 of us shared a room and plenty of space. All as it should be and extra pillow x 3 delivered when requested. After a busy sightseeing Sunday came back to find no food available. The man on duty suggested a restaurant 15 mins walk away which was ok, fairly priced with unusual dishes on the menu!!!
Booked a room at the hotel as a surprise trip to Verona for my fiance. On arrival, we was greeted by friendly and pleasant staff. They told us where the attractions in the city was and they gave us a map showing the locations. The hotel however doesn't have the normal plug sockets (i.e the three pronged plug) so bring an adaptor if your electrical equipment doesn't have the two pronged plugs. On our first evening there, we couldn't have dinner at the hotel as the restaurant was booked for a private function!! They don't do lunch neither, other than few sandwiches, toasties etc. The room was clean and spacious. There are transport links to centre of town from outside the hotel and they've off street parking located at the basement of the hotel
Thr Montrésor provided absolutely everything we required: a calm environment away from the centre of Verona at a fraction of the price; comfortable, clean rooms; warm and receptive staff across the language-barrier; a full and varied breakfast at modest price; shuttles to and from the Opera; a regular service bus to the centre of town within 50 metres; further public transport to Lake Garda around the corner; close to San Zeno (10 minutes walk, with restaurants and bars to suit every taste open throughout the week). We were 9 varied personalities, all wanting value for money and receiving it in full measure; not a single reservation ... thanks Montrésor David F
We spent three days in this hotel which is about 15 minutes by bus from the city centre and were surprised how comfortable the beds were. The room had a very big shower area and a safe. There is a very good breakfast available at a reasonable cost and the staff a extremely helpful. They even supply bus tickets and the stop is just around the corner. A Shuttle bus for the opera is also available on request which we thought was a bonus.
