We, as a family of three, stayed here in late 2017 while doing a round trip of South Tyrol and northern Italy. While on our way to Venice, we stopped at Verona for the usual Arena cum Old Town cum Romeo and Juliet stuff. The San Pietro turned out to be an absolutely acceptable place to stay: The family room was small but clean, the staff proved friendly and good-humored and the breakfast was satisfactory. Located a 20-minutes walk from the old town walls and the Arena, the hotel is situated in a somewhat murky quarter, with the markets just over the street and the main station not far away. However, in the evening we managed to return to the San Pietro after our sightseeing trip not only by inexpensive public transport but completely unscathed so don't let the run-down area scare you too much. And you can park your car for free right on the hotel premises, securely locked away behind a large gate which is kept closed after dawn. All in all, when the price is right, there's nothing wrong with the San Pietro if you need a place to stay for a night or two.
Not if you want to be in a nice area, not if you want to in peace and quietness, not if you want good service, not if your navigator isn't updated because you'll never find it. Under no circumstance this hotel can be rated as a 4 stars.
I stayed in this hotel from 9th to 16th September 2017 and have no doubt to say that it is a good hotel. I checked into the hotel around 2:45 am at night and find no difficulty during check in. The behaviour of the staffs are excellent and they were always helpful. I always got prompt reply from them. The room was bigger in size and well decorated. The view from the room was also good. Though it is at comparatively longer distance from arena but I feel it is not a disadvantage. The distance can be covered by walking. I remember everyday l used to walk to arena and come back. The hotel probably provides shuttle service to arena. Probably the service is free, but I am not sure. The breakfast was good but the menu was same everyday. However plenty of varieties of foods are available. Overall I will recommend this hotel.
This Hotel has a great location if you are traveling with a vehicle, however we didn’t. If I would go back to Verona I would consider stay closer to the city center. The walk to and from city center isn’t that nice, large roads and heavy traffic combined with unsafe areas. I strongly recommend taxi. However… The hotel is nice and the staff is great, no problem leaving the luggage in the reception if you are arriving early. Ok breakfast and nice room. Even though the Hotel is located near large roads, the rooms are silent and soundproof.
We spent 2 nights in Verona and I picked San Pietro Hotel. Very clean property with great service - not over the top but absolutely polite and friendly. This hotel surprised me - our room was very clean (compare to some dirty 5 star hotels - hats off to San Pietro). Room was good size and comfortable. Bed and pillows - super. Breakfast - great. Simple, with very good choices and absolutely delicious. Even though the place for breakfast is not huge, it was well organized and the morning crew was very good at keeping it clean and ready for other guests. The only note is: there is not really "view" to Verona but it is not a big deal. This hotel offers shuttle to the center and even if you need to take taxi the ride is not expensive and it is like 5-6 minutes to Arena Di Verona. Overall: I would say this property is well managed. Our stay was really pleasant with simple and friendly Italian charm.
This hotel is very clean! The hotel staff is very kind and service here is helpful. The breakfast was included and they offered an excellent assortment...lots to choose from and it was fresh every day. Offered a free shuttle from the hotel to a location near the Verona Arena on nights there is an Opera performance from 5:30-830pm. You just have to book at the front desk. Historical Verona is approximately a 1.5km straight walk ahead. Very close to the Porta Nuova Train Station and with a recently opened South Entrance, you can walk out the back of the train station, and you're a 10 minute walk. We did it several times with our 9 year old daughter and it was so easy. We've travelled a lot in Europe in the past 2 years and this is one of the nicest locations we've stayed at. It's clean, safe and friendly and a good price. I would recommend this to family or friends.
Hotel and rooms were very nice particularly the deluxe room. Very spacious and a lovely big shower and shower head. the bed was comfy, and the room was generally very modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helped us with everything we needed without a fuss. The location is OK. We are both in our 20s so could cope with the 30 minute walk into town, however she may prefer to use the free bicycle rentals offered by the hotel or get a cab. I must say however the price of this hotel does reflect the slightly further location in comparison.p to hotels entree to town. A minibus service is offered to and from the opera on opera days. It would be great if the hotel extended this service to do a couple of trips during the days and evenings on non opera days. Although it is not a free service I think there would still be plenty of custom as it is cheaper than getting a taxi for two people. Overall a great stay and hotel.
When we first arrived at this hotel the exterior gave us a fright, it looks tired from the outside, I was very apprehensive about what lay in store for the inside. We walked inside and my mind was blown. The staff were incredibly welcoming, so kind and friendly and offered us an upgrade in our room. We accepted and were truly spoiled, the hotel room was so modern and fresh, it clearly has had a refurbishment in the inside, the bathroom was immaculate and it was the nicest place we had stayed in our month long honeymoon trip to Italy. The hotel also provide you with free bikes which we took into the city at night and drove around beautiful Verona. There is also free parking on the premises. We had a lovely breakfast each morning with a great selection to choose from. Would highly recommend a visit here. Thanks again to the staff.
If you have a car, it may be a hotel of good location. They provide free parking and it is a big advantage. The lobby has an old carpet or furniture smell and that is not very pleasant at all. The breakfast ok but the breakfast area is not very nice. They provide bicycles for guest but I don't think it is a good idea to ride bicycle in that area where there is a lot of traffic.
We enjoyed views of the snow capped mountains in the distance, to be fair though the hotel is surrounded by roads! The San Pietro is about a 25 minutes walk from Piazza Bra and about a 20 minute walk from the bus station/railway station. The room was a good size and the shower room was very well appointed, good size shower, excellent. There was no supper facility but the breakfast was of the highest standard. The hotel was clean and the staff were all very helpful and friendly, we wouldn't hesitate to use again.
