The Leopardi Hotel was a comfortable stay with a very good breakfast on offer. Room was typically Italian in decor, good size, bathroom functional, no road noise. You can use your external USB hard drive to watch your own Videos. Hotel to city in cab is about €15. More so, Verona is another amazing Italian city that should be visited.
We chose Hotel Leopardi for its secure parking facilities and its convenient location, on walking distance from the historic center of Verona. Like many streets in Italy, the street where Hotel Leopardi is located is a narrow and unidirectional road, so it is not the easiest to arrive at. Our room was pretty interesting; the lighting was poor, that we needed to use the shower in almost darkness and there was no real motivation to read a book in the evening. Additionally, the curtains in traditional Victorian style could not fully cover the window (1.0 meters of window were uncovered) and appeared more like an ornament, - which presented a challenge for sleeping in addition to constant noise of the air conditioner. Furthermore, the room lacked coffee and tea facilities and when asking at the reception, they simply referred to the hotel bar. The breakfast was hosted on the first floor in a room without ambiance and character - the staff was of little service and the music with nightclub-like sounds was quite intense for an early morning. The staff did not seem to experience any issue here and was not capable to fully express themselves in proper English - a bit odd for a 4* hotel. In fact, the irony is that the cleaning lady comprehends and speaks English well and could provide us with assistance when needed. In general, the food provided during breakfast hours was more of 3* quality and did not meet our expectation nor satisfaction. For our stay in Verona we booked ourselves tickets for an Italian concert in the Arena - yet we still needed to pick up the tickets somewhere. When explaining the matter, the lady at the front desk lifted up her hand to quiet us - which was simply rude. Moreover, as she could not provide us with the relevant information, we left the hotel and figured it out on our own (there is a ticket selling point in one of the niches of the arena). The next day when our stay came to an end, we were just relieved; Verona is a beautiful visit and definitely worth your visit, we just do not recommend Hotel Leopardi.
The staff were helpful and spoke English. The room was clean and functional but wasn't as high spec as we thought it would be. The breakfast and service is excellent.I was disappointed that there are no tea/coffee making facilities. There is a LIDL a two minute walk away which was useful. We found finding the bus from the station to the hotel confusing but discovered you need bay D1. It is bus 11,( or 95 in the evening). It drops you a 2 minute walk away which is ideal. If you catch the bus from the opposite side of the road it takes you via the station to the Piazza Bra in about 15 minutes.Use the GPS system on your phone to track where you get off.The Wi Fi in the hotel was great for our purposes.Check out was easy but you get charged a Tourist tax,(which is the same in all hotels). I would stay again.
Arriving along the canal by bike - a very convenient hotel. 20 minutes easy walk from centre. Reception areas all very smart, room have slightly old fashioned dark wooden furniture, but good (firm) bed and sheet/blanket rather than stifling duvet. On street but no noise. Air con worked OK. Bathroom had annoying shower with low water pressure, a curtain and ill fitting hose. But great thick towels. Another annoying pull out hairdryer. I guess there are more up to date rooms elsewhere in hotel. Great breakfast.
Room is fine, but the noise from the road is too much. Soundproof systems should be improved. Ok wifi, parking and breakfast. Sauna is NOT free, and this is not clearly mentioned. Fitness center very poor, but it is possible to run. Massage center prices in the range (around 60 eur). Logistic is good, just outside the city center
This hotel is set on the outskirts of the centre near to the wonderful San Zeno Basilica which breaks the walk into town perfectly. The staff are first rate and the food is excellent. The hotel also has ample car parking.
Great hotel, only 20 minutes walking to the city centre. Very nice walk The breakfast was very good, great selection. Staff are very friendly and helpful ( Valeria and Morena the best) The WIFI did not work in the room. Room very clean and spacious. Toilet very clean but the shower tiles could do with a revamp Fitness centre and spa is EXTRA, 20 euros for the facilities for 1.30 hr
This hotel is excellent for seeing Verona and the Opera. It is quite an easy walk into the centre and during the opera season runs transport to the Arena. If you do not wish to walk Taxis are freely available at a reasonable price. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The food was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Leopardi is a very nice hotel in easy walking distance from the centre of Verona, with parking, so a great option if you are driving. They provide family rooms - ours was spacious with comfortable beds for all, a nice clean bathroom and good breakfast.
Was a little disappointed with this hotel if I'm honest spa was amazing a must but as for the room the shower was awful and the beds were like sleeping on the floor but I have to say biggest disappointment was are dining experience at the restaurant. The man who serves gives no quality of service the ambiance is none and the food I had was a steak full of fat so very disappointing. Positives are reception staff and the spa and within walking distance to the town
