Hotel Leopardi is a good hotel, polite staff, rooms are clean, bathrooms clean, all confort you need. Breakfast buffee very good (except the bread which one morning was still frozen in the middle., If you want an expresso just ask the waiter. Parking for busses, garage for cars free. wifi working well. very good dinner for the group, meals and drinks in the bar are quite expensive
Verona is very busy city with constant concerts, etc. We weren't able to get a hotel inside the walls, so ended up at Leopardi. Modern, clean, comfortable, en suite bathroom, safe in room, good breakfast with many options. 2 blocks over river from old city, easy transport by bus into the center, 10 minute ride, but fewer buses after 10:00 pm. Very quiet neighborhood, few restaurants nearby.
spacious room with modern bathroom. Plenty of space for clothes etc. Nice selection at breakfast. Ample free parking Friendly staff thoughout. Location is good, maybe 15-20 mins walk to the city centre; hotel is easy to reach from the motorway and good access to roads leading to lake Garda and the Valpolicella region
The hotel is rather modern from the outside, but very cosy inside. The breakfast buffet is well assorted and the food was fresh and delicious. The room was big and airy, the bed comfortable and the bathroom fine. A little more hot water would have been nice. The restaurant had a varied menu and service was kind and relatively timely. The meeting room was well equipped and had good audiovisuel facilities, good acoustics and plenty of water
plus side: good breakfast, nice crew, good location, free parking, nice clean rooms. down side: hard mattress, not enough pillows (just one per person, not enough here), and the shower is weired and dosent have any glass. I would give three and a half stars.
My husband, two year old and I stayed here for two nights. On the second night we returned back to our room after a day in the city to find puddles of water on the floor outside our bathroom - with more still coming down from the ceiling. We immediately called reception and a man came up. He said there's a fault with our air con system. He left a bucket and towels and said that the maintenance person could not come until the next morning (when we were checking out). We asked if we could be moved to another room but he said the hotel was full. He suggested we turn the air con off for the night. It was an extremely hot evening but we turned off the air con and tried to go to sleep, listening to the water dripping into the bucket. Needless to say none of us slept very well. It wasn't particularly safe either when walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night. My husband spoke to an empathetic lady on reception about it the next morning who ensured the details were recorded on our account and suggested we email the manager re. compensation, which we did. He replied that his personnel had done all they could and it did not justify any compensation. Incredibly worrying that a hotel manager is only bothered by finances and not about the comfort and experience of his customers. What kind of hotel do not keep any rooms empty, just in case?! We find it astonishing that the manager felt it was acceptable to pay £90 a night for this experience. We were so much more comfortable on a campsite the following night. Not one to complain usually (in all my reviews, I'm not sure I ever have before) but this experience and management response was awful.
Basic hotel that offers a hard mattress on a firm bed (which did not suit our backs). Thankful that we had only planned for a 1 night stay. Basic buffet breakfast offered. Basic customer service experienced. Overall an average hotel.
We arrived in Verona for just 1 night. There was secure parking at the back which was ideal for our hire car. Staff were welcoming on arrival and directed us into main town Verona as our room wasn't quite ready. We walked into Verona which took about 25 minutes. Really lovely place, would recommend visiting Juliettes balcony but it was very busy there. Our room was really spacious with a huge bed. Very clean everywhere and nice shower. We both slept very well! Breakfast was really good. Lots of choice in a spacious and clean restaurant. Can't comment on the spa as didn't have time to experience this unfortunately. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone visiting Verona.
I will start with the most important thing: this is not or should not be a 4 star hotel. I can say that I am an experienced globe trotter, and I've been in 4 star hotels, but this one should lose a star. We got a room with some wool blankets thrown on the upper shelf. The blankets were not the cleanest either. But really, wool, greyish blankets thrown on the top shelf? The room had a funny smell, of disinfectant, as if they were trying to cover something else. The grout in between the tiles in the bathroom were a bit… filthy. So… Don't get me wrong, I don't say that it is a bad hotel (it has some advantages that I mention below), but I definitely say that prices should go down, and the number of stars should be revised. A plus is that we got a free parking space. Also, it is close to downtown, but still quite easily accessible by car. In my opinion, a bit more than a mile is close, because I walk a lot, so walking 20-25 minutes to the heart of the city is not a big problem for me. My main issues are with the cleanliness, number of stars and prices. They are just not properly adjusted in my opinion.
Check in was ok, as were the room and the bed. However, the shower had no protective curtain and flooded the bathroom floor making it like a skating rink, and soaking the bath mat. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Room very dark at night as blinds used instead of curtains. Breakfast was terrible - undercooked bacon, scrambled eggs which were so watery, a duck could have swum in the pan. Star rating should be radically reduced. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
