Highly recommend

I accidentally booked a room without a bathroom, but since the hotel wasn’t fully booked, they kindly upgraded me to a room with a private bathroom at no extra cost—without me even asking. The woman who checked me in was incredibly kind and gave me a full tour of the property, which was a nice touch. The hotel itself was beautiful, well-kept, and very clean. My room was also spotless and nicely maintained. I was surprised to see this hotel rated as a two-star—I would definitely consider it worthy of three stars. They do offer luggage storage, but it’s in a public area, so there is a possibility that someone could access or go through your bags. However, I had no issues retrieving mine. The breakfast was excellent—one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had, with plenty of options. The location is also very convenient, close to the train station, making it easy to get to without any trouble.

Our first time in Vernazza and we happen to find a pearl in the middle of a sea of hotels! The Pensione Sorriso, Eleena and staff were wonderful! There was such great and positive energy about the place. We were planning on staying only 1 day and decided stay for three days! The room was clean and comfortable. The area was right in the center of beautiful Vernazza and close to train station that made it easy to explore all of Cinque Terre! We would love to be back !!!

We were so happy with Pensione Sorriso! We were greeted on our arrival, given lots of information about the hotel, and shown our room. The staff member was excellent. I believe her name was Elenora? She was so incredible and helpful Friday & Saturday. We saw her working so hard for every guest to make sure they were happy and had everything they needed. We were so impressed by her. We will come back here for future vacations.

Amenities were good. Great breakfast. Noisy next to train track but we knew about the location. One star because during check in, the staff tried to trick us into paying extra 25euro to upgrade to a different room in order to get 2 bath towels, even though we booked a room for 2 adults. We ended up getting 2 towels anyways but it was very dishonest of them to say we had to upgrade in order to get two towels we should have gotten instead of one.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Sure, it's not overly fancy but sometimes simple is just fine. The beds and pillows, as others have noted, are pretty firm but not unmanageable. The staff is great. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Great location close to the train. Would stay again.

What a fantastic 4 day stay. I’ve been to Vernazza many times, however this was my best accommodation. Great service in all accounts, staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Great roof top terrace and breakfast was so yummy. I will definitely stay there again.

Sweet, Compact and close to everything!

Close to the train station and the Main Street of Vernazza. Our hosts were exceptional as they organized their time to carry our luggage back and forth to the train. The elevator at the station is out and the many deep stone steps made this all the more helpful. The room is tiny, as is the bathroom. Hooks to hang things would be helpful. The bed is futon style near the floor. Breakfast was filling and lovely— lots of pastry.

My friend and I loved our stay at Pensione Sorriso. The staff are friendly and helpful, our room and bathroom were clean, and we were happy with the in-room AC unit which worked very well. The breakfast buffet in the morning was one of our favorite perks, the food and cappuccinos were delicious and the outdoor dining area is very peaceful. The location is unbeatable, a quick walk up the hill from the Vernazza train stop. It was a perfect home base for exploring Cinque Terre, we were able to visit all 5 towns during our 2.5 days and Vernazza ended up being one of our favorites.

We enjoyed our stay at the Pensione Sorriso. The hotel is clean and modern for Italian standards. The bedroom and bathroom are pretty small but we managed just fine. The staff were great. Our reservation included breakfast which had several options to choose from. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there are lots of stairs to climb just to access the lobby from the street. This was not a problem for us, but if you have any type of mobility issues it may be extremely difficult to access the lobby and your room. On the plus side, the location is just steps away from the train station.
