The hotel and staff were nice, but the room was outdated and had a musty smell. The breakfast was ok, and the surrounding of the estate looked great. Parking opposite the hotel and free. Some excellent hiking trails are nearby.
Booked a Christmas deal in this hotel and it proved to be a somewhat mixed experience. Reception was very friendly. Room and bathroom very dated (when was it last painted/decorated ??), but the beds and chairs comfortable enough, and the shower nice and warm. Breakfast buffet varied and plentiful and the special menu's for Xmas Eve and Xmas Day very nice and well presented. I feel a bit more could have been done to create a nice Xmas atmosphere; there was a tree in the dining room and some decorations, but 'something' was missing. But - and that was a big advantage under the circumstances - the staff were all very pleasant and friendly, which made it easier to overlook all the "didn't quite make it" issues. And the area of course is beautiful, the main reason for picking this location.
We were staying here for one night because we where have diner in a restaurant at near city. Because of that we planned to sleep in this hotel for one night. The room was big enough, had a tv and a nice few over the landsight. The only thing in this room that was really too small was the shower. The breakfast was good. There was enough choice. The people at the desk and bar where also friendly. This hotel is nice when you want to a walk in the near forest and in the nature surrounded by it. I think it's a good hotel for short stays.
The hotel itself is a tired looking dépendance of this beautiful country house and is in great need of a face-lift. A very uninspiring place with shabby corridors and I am glad we only stayed there for one night as we had to go to a party nearby. The room was very basic, the showerroom should be renovated. Not good value for money either, although the gardens and terrace were very nice. 10 euros per dog extra.... The reception when we arrived, was not very friendly although the service at the bar and on the terrace was friendly.
Found this hotel to be some what disappointing Travelled with my partner and her sister, took two rooms and stayed 4 nights, On cheek in we find you have to pay extra charge per night per room, to have a room with a shower!! Found the lady behind the counter to be quite rude and of no help at all. The décor is in different need of a face lift or at least a coat of paint, Rooms are somewhat small and two single beds instead of a double, One of the nights we were kept awake till 2am by a blazing roar from guests in one of the other rooms, When I complained to Management, Nothing was done, the following night I can only guess to the all night noise being from a football party going on, Restaurant only has a selection of 2 items on the menu, and the Breakfast is a joke, Bacon and eggs are cold and only a very small amount is placed in the "hot server" at a time, Does not help when one guest takes the whole lot at a time, (mind you that's only about 6 slices of bacon) Fawlty towers would be a vast improvement on this place.
Stayed here because we needed to be in the vicinity early the next day. From the outside the hotel looks nice: stately manor-like. The bar and restaurant look good and the breakfast is nice. The rooms could do with some improvement, look a bit old and worn out in some places, but still acceptable. Rooms are not big, but I did not quite mind that. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great location set in nice gardens , next to forest with lots of forest trails . Rooms in the older house behind the main hotel are much quieter. The restaurant is priced and limited it's easy to either walk or drive into town . At weekends breakfast isn't served untill 8 am , the packed breakfasts that they supply instead are very basic and beware several of our party were charged for these . There is also a charge of 10 euros per dog per night if travelling with pets
Old and outdated rooms... Top location yes but very steep prices for this old hotel. 2 stars not more. Toilet was not clean when we checked in. Good breakfast. .. Re staurant as described before, ok food but quite expensive
This is a very good hotel , the rooms are nice and clean all with great views , the staff were all very helpfull , free parking outside of the hotel , the hotel is next to a forest so plenty of woodland walks , it is also only a few minutes drive away from the neatest town with shops and restaurants The only downfall is that the meals are expensive . Breakfast is included I. The room rate and is one of the best I've had in Europe The hotel also welcomes pets 😃
The hotel was ok for the purpose: business meeting in a calm and cloister atmosphere. The old building behind the hotel is very nice and the meeting rooms are really spacious and well equipped. But the rooms were so small and not well mantained. it is cheaper.
