Excellent location. We just arrived at the hotel after 36 hours of traveling. Air condition at the hotel was not working and did not work for the nights we spend at the hotel. After many complaints we could not achieve anything. We had booked three rooms and the third party had to go to another hotel because of overbooking. Terrible stay at Avignon

I spent two nights for work in the hotel. First, arriving at midnight I was given a room which proved to be already occupied. Quite an unpleasant moment to wake up someone at midnight. The room was almost clean but quite small. Pillows were very bad. Not really good value for money.

We were very pleased with our good sized room, lovely little balcony and where the hotel was situated. Due to it being right next to the Popes Palace, you could always find your way back. It was quite noisy at night but was to be expected and wasn't difficult to sleep once you closed the balcony doors. It had very efficient air con in the room which was an absolute must! Breakfast was ok but be wary of going too late, after 8.30, your choices were limited. The reception staff were pleasant particularly, the dark haired gentleman who greeted once when we arrived. My only issue was prior to the visit I had contacted the hotel to ask if they had any special options I could have for celebrating my partners birthday. Some hotels have offered a small box of chocolates with a happy birthday message, one prepared a pudding with happy birthday on etc this was the sort of thing I was after and was willing to pay despite most hotels doing this complimentary. However whether my request was lost in translation or the hotel had never experienced this sort of request, I'm not sure. After various emails back and forth and then explaining I couldn't see the room service menu, they explained a bottle of champagne would be in the room. No talk of price or selection etc so I assumed it was complimentary. A bottle of Bollinger (here would be priced about £40) was there on arrival and my partner was very impressed. I then received a email whilst we were staying there about charging me for it. I explained I would except this. I was not however expecting the €75 bill when we checked out. My partner also heard this and it really spoiled his birthday surprise to be honest. It was way more than I would have chosen or agreed to if I'd been given the choice. They really need to look into these sort of procedures! It put a dampener on the whole experience.

Hospitable check in with wonderful tourist support for directions and information. Excellent room (large and very comfortable) spotlessly clean and safe. Parking is underneath in a secure, discounted municipal lot. Breakfast was very disappointing as the food choices had not been replenished...no cheese, no baguette, only one yogurt left. This was atI 8 am on our only morning there. I would recommend the hotel highly but suggest patrons not choose the breakfast if it is an option.

The hotel is very conveniently located. Room was nice, the bathroom was large enough (the highlight was the rain shower). The personnel was extremely friendly! Good selection for the breakfast, including freshly pressed orange juice.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, from June 22nd to June 25th. Location is excellent, especially if you rent a car, as there is underground parking right next to the hotel. Hotel staff is also very helpful and solicit, and were directly responsible for fixing a major problem we faced: this time of year temperatures reach 35 celcius during day and 25-30 during the night, so air conditioning is a must. The air conditioning in our room didn't work, and with no fan in the room we wouldn't be able to sleep. Hotel staff was quick to give us another room with a fan, but again, no air conditioning. Next morning we saw many other guests complaining of no air conditioning. So this seems to be a problem of infrastructure of the hotel, and not just of some rooms. In sum: location great, staff really helpful, rooms with inoperative air conditioning in a 30 degree celcius environment at night - just plain terrible.

We spent 3 days in this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here. On the first night we had a standard room and we could not fault it. On the next two nights we had a Privilege room. This was a very large room and the room that we got had a terrace overlooking the papal Palace. The reception and breakfast staff were very pleasant at all times. Will be back.

Hotel ideally placed in city for visits to all attractions and amenities in the city. Hotel staff very helpful BUT air conditioning completely inadequate in a hot summer period room temperature around 25degC in the day and not a lot less at night. This hotel has no lounge or bar as such, you can use the adjacent restaurant but there was some reluctance for us to do this without buying a meal. The seating outside the hotel was only available at breakfast and then "chained up" for the rest of the day? We were in room 205 (at the rear) we reported the sink waste coming up in the bath waste on three separate occasions and had three visits from the in-house maintenance team but the problem was not resolved.

We booked a standard room so maybe the superior ones are different but we had an air con unit that just stirred warm air and didn't actually cool the room at all. So instead of that lovely feeling when you walk back into your hotel room after a hot day walking around a city we had a horrible muggy feeling. Having checked at reception it appears that all the air con on the hotel has broken down so I'm sure it will be nice once that is fixed. The test of the room was OK but the bathroom was one of those pre fabricated things with an over bath shower that fell off the fitting if you tried to adjust it. The corridor was dark and damp, probably a result of failing air con, and fittings are basic but the lobby is nice if rather small. Location is great between the main square but be wary if you're driving and make sure you get precise directions to the underground car park which is accessed from the ring road. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We travelled to Avignon by car for a night at the charming and quirky Opera. it is all but impossible to get to the hotel by car, and your GPS will not help - quite the reverse! Why does the hotel not tell you simply to go into the underground Palais des Papes car park (the hotel gets 20% off, if you get your parking ticket stamped by them), and then walk the few yards to the hotel? But once there, all is well. The Opera house is 30 metres away, and you are right on the main square, the Place de L'horloge, with its buzzing scene and plentiful restaurants. The rooms at the front were fractionally noisy, but it was so worth it for the views of the city. Breakfast more minimal than we had expected, but good enough. Room admirable.
