This hotel is located right in the centre of the city within easy walking distance of the famous tourist destinations and plentiful restaurants. The room was clean and adequate with free Wi-fi but the bathroom was in need of some refurbishment. Reception staff are very friendly, helpful and speak good English. No private parking, but they do offer a 20% discount to parking within a short distance.
A very good price/quality performance. The location is perfect: in the middle of the old center and 2 minutes walk to the palace. Large rooms, recently renovated I guess. Breakfast really fine for French hotels.
We, three girls stayed in a Triple room on 27/28/29 July. There were still lots of Festival activity. Reception desk : We arrived after 20:00. To our surprise, the front desk insisted that we only booked and paid one night, despite that we have the print out from BOOKING.COM to show that we did book 3 nights, moreover, the name on the receipt which he tried to give us WAS a totally stranger called Daniel. The man can barely speak English and he refused to check further...until that the girl waiting behind us came forward to say that her partner is that Daniel who booked 1 night. It was such a relief for us. The man finally believed that he made a mistake and apologized..... Room:The hotel was at a extremely busy street but the sound-proof is excellent. The room size is good and air-conditioning is cool -- we need it because the weather is hot ! About the pillow, yes, it indeed needs some quality improvement. Bathroom: size is good. But there were only two small bottle of shampoo and a very-tiny soap. We are lucky that we brought our own bottle. There's no hair dryer so we need to borrow one from front desk. They said they only have one hair dryer so we need to return it every morning ( we stayed there 3 nights) We didn't try the breakfast.
Location is fabulous on the main shopping street of Avignon and easy walking distance of various places of interest. The entrance is messy it needs someone to take responsibility for it and clean it up a couple of times a day. The receptionists was great spoke good English and gave us bits of information that were useful. He helped get our cases up the stairs which was good as there is not a lift. Also booked us a taxi that arrived promptly. The sleeping room was fine with TV and air conditioning. Bed clothes and towels are clean. However, there was a great deal of dust under the bed. The bathroom was a let down. No plug for the sink, no fitting for the shower head so to shower you wet yourself, put the shower head in the bath then soaped up and rinsed off. There was mould on the walls bits of paint chipped off. The toilet bowl was badly stained and needed a good bleaching. Breakfast was disappointing as nothing seemed fresh. The coffee machine constantly dripped and had a bowl to catch them. A fellow guest moved the bowl and did not replace it the man in charge of breakfast for some reason scowled at my wife as though it was her. Across the road there is a bakery that sells excellent fresh food if you feel the need to buy extra. What the hotel needs is for the manager to do several things first inspect every room and note problems. Then employ a handy man to go through the hotel and rectify all the minor things wrong. He also needs to give his cleaners a pep talk about their cleaning responsibility. WiFi was good in the room we stayed in. With its location this could be a fabulous hotel with a bit of effort and getting people to take pride in their work.
The location of this basic hotel is very central in town. Rooms are spacious, but a bit pricey as Avignon is a popular tourist spot. Free Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Friendly staff. Affordable and nice breakfast. No private parking, but they'll provide you 20% discount to parking halls nearby.
Just returned from a stay at Danieli Hotel. Pro's - Location is great and the staff was friendly. Con's - No elevator, pillows are an embarrassment (actually I've never encountered worse), bathroom was recently remodeled, but the shower leaked badly at the base, most of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work. Towels were likely once white but were more of a concerning yellow color. I agree with some of the other reviews - manageable (but not exactly pleasant) for one night, but tough to stay any longer (we were actually booked for two nights but checked out after the first night)
We arrived for 5 night stay to fing hotel undergoing renovations. No elevator so had to carry heavy luggage to top flóor. Met by friendly carpet layer on our floor...made French connection and got to ròom. Newly finished and dust in wardrobe but soon cleaned by manager. We cane to love the olace with way workers mixed with wanting to assist and not be inconvenience. Request for directions to laundry at reception saw our washing done for us..location is ideal and close to Carrefore and Mcdonalds as breakfast option. All in all 10 out if 10 for trying. Thanks
Reviews are always subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinion which will usually be based upon personal experience. So here's mine. This is truly a 5* hotel in the old style. Sublime elegance at its best. The staff all know they are there to offer service in the traditional manner and, without exception, they achieve it. I was last here with my parents many more years ago than I will admit to and memories really are made of this. My wife's suggestion to celebrate my recent birthday here was pure genius. Thank you all at the Danieli. We will be back.
The hotel is being refurbished at the moment so not all the rooms were available. The ones we stayed in with our group of students were therefore clean and new although not completely finished. The breakfast was basic but the croissants and bread fresh and tasty. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the location is perfect, on the main street of the Town, so easy to reach monuments in a few minutes. It's next to a hostel which can be noisy. If you are not bothered about frills but want a great location it is fine.
Hotel is very noisy and dirty. You could hear everithing happening outside the room. We found what looked like rat poo on the pillow. The wifi didnt work. The location is good however the hotel is terrible.
