Stayed for several nights, and on some occasions housekeeping moved my possessions around, eg from bathroom to side of bed, or pile of books moved from one table to another on the opposite side of the room and spread them out. Felt intrusive. On one morning someone knocked on the door and immediately came in - I was in the bathroom and they'd left by the time I emerged. On the next morning, a young man burst in without knocking, saw me, said 'Oh' and ran out! If I hadn't been leaving that day I would have raised this. Service at dinner very grudging and disorganised. Food OK some nights but poor on others. Lovely location in the centre of Orange. Room OK but stark - nothing on the walls. Small fridge with complimentary water, cola and fruit juice, which was a nice touch. Later heard from other guests that their supplies had been replenished but mine weren't. Breakfast fairly limited (no eggs) but nice yoghurt and delicious array of cheese and bread. Suspect it would be difficult if you have a car as most of the surrounding area is mainly for pedestrians. Rooms seemed to vary a lot. Mine was spacious with a view, but I heard of others that were tiny or hazardous (because of steps) and with no view.
everything is perfect, but a front desk staff. There are 2 staffs at the front desk when we checked in. A little fat staff very patient and dedicated, another thin staff very impatient and not polite.
Stayed one night, clean rooms, big bathrooms, some work needs to be done as carpet, paint, etc. is a bit worn.. Breakfast was professional, with fresh coffee, fresh bread and so on. The bar and terrace are mostly used by guests from the hotel.
Good location and atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Perhaps we should have known, but were not aware that the restaurant was closed during our stay, it was not a problem as restaurants were close by. Surprised to find cleaner in our room when it had been cleaned earlier.
We stayed for one night on our way to the Côte d'Azur in this really nice hotel. Especially the valet parking of the cars, the friendliness of staff, the excellent breakfast have to be pointed out. The room and the dinner were very good, the breakfast excellent. We can recommend this hotel.
Very disappointing hotel. Rooms are quite dark and without atmosphere; the breakfast is very poor and at Euros 14 per person for a basic Continental, way too expensive. Check you get the correct category room as we were given one 2 categories lower and had to ask for the room we had booked. The location is good, being very central, but I would not recommend this hotel.
We stayed for a night in Hotel Arene returning from our vacation in Spain. The hotel is situated in the center of Orange, signed are posted to lead the way. The service personnel is very friendly and is parking your vehicle in the hotel owned garage, and returing the vehicle in the morning to the front of the hotel. Very good service. The room we had was small, but clean, as was also the bathroom. The fact that there is no way to close the shower led to some water in the bathroom, this could definitely be improved. Sleeping was very good, as there is no traffic during night. The breakfast was excellent, with possibility to sit outside in a provencial town surrounding. Check-Out went well, just a bit longer as the printer was not working, so the final invoice was done manually, good time for a chat with the receptionist. The hotel has an outside pool, that looked pretty nice, but we didn't use it. Overall I recommend this hotel and will come back if we are in Orange, also good for a couple of days in the Provence, as there are lots a restaurants nearby, also in the hotel.
Very well located hotel for visiting the magnificent Roman Amphitheater in Orange.Rooms and bathrooms well furnished, beds nicely firm and powerful showers. Despite being right in the centre of Orange the hotel is quiet. Small pool and sun deck were ideal at the end of a hot day. Parking can be a bit tricky as the centre of Orange is a maze of one way and pedestrianised/ bollarded streets. Restaurant was shut the night we stayed but plenty of choice in the square next door.
We stayed 3 nights at the hotel in August 2017. It is very centrally located with restaurants, cafes and shops right outside the door. We wanted a twin bed room and there was only one available on the lower level so view was not so good. However, we had a very large bathroom, fine bedroom and good air conditioning. Everything was very clean. We enjoyed jumping into the hot tub and pool after a day of sight seeing. It was also very handy to have valet parking at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel.
Very good hotel and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and the bed was excellent ( I even sleept well, which is not often the case in hotels). Good place to stay to visit Orange or for just one night as a stop over.
