No water service, no food service, no bar service, no air condition service, no restaurant service...everything is a NO and really bad service. If you are looking for a good vacation, this is not the place.
Spent a night here in Mid-March and liked most of it. The hotel itself is located just outside the walls of the old town and next to the train station, making most everything easily walkable. The rooms are the largest that we have stayed in in France, with a separate sitting room and a large bath with both a shower stall and a bathtub. There were two queen beds in the room with comfy mattresses. Power outlets were few and far between and frequently required unplugging lamps. Suggestion to management -- install lamps with power outlets and USB ports by the beds. The breakfast was serviceable with a decent variety of hot and cold offerings. The bad part is that the room was roasting hot. When we tried to put the HVAC on cool, the air blowing out only got hotter. When we complained, we were told that the only alternative was to turn the heat off altogether. We did that, and the hot air stopped blowing, but it was still quite hot. The only alternative was to leave the screen-less windows open and hope that pigeons didn't come to visit in the middle of the night, which made the room temperature bearable after a an hour or so. I don't know how the A/C works in the summer, but the lack of ability to control room temperature would make me think twice (or thrice) about staying here again. Otherwise, great value for the money.
This hotel is a great one in our vacation when we visited Le Festival d'Avignon 2017; since it's super near the old town of Avignon and also it's just about 3 min walk to the TGV of Avignon Central. The breakfast and the room are both awesome for us. If we have the chance to visit Avignon next time, I definitely will book this hotel again.
My friend and I were looking for a reasonable priced hotel within walking distance to the key attractions, restaurants and shopping for two nights in Avignon. We needed two beds, convenient parking and a reasonable sized room by or near the fortified wall. We must mention, Heather at the front desk was so welcoming, extremely helpful and totally bilingual. She really helped with recommendations. She is extremely well versed with this region. The room was very spacious with useful pocket doors. The WiFi worked great, mini fridge had 2 complimentary bottled waters on chill. We enjoyed the separate sitting area and two queen beds. Room was bigger than expected, had a window that opens for fresh air and very quiet. We parked the car underground, took the elevator up and left it for two days. This location is right across from the wall and entrance. You can walk everywhere. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was 15euros. The fresh coffee units were great and no waiting. We were so pleased with this property we stayed a third night and day tripped to Arles only 45 minutes away. Oh, and L’Occitane shampoo and shower gel, which added a nice touch.
From the outside this hotel looks average and the roadworks directly outside do nothing to help this but as soon as you walk into the foyer you can see that you are in a nice hotel. Booking in was easy. We were on the first floor overlooking the City Walls. A wonderful sight as the sun rises. Our room has two large double beds with ample room for storage and a bar fridge. A sliding door separates the lounge room which has another tv, desk and coffee making facilities. There is a seperate vanity with on wall hairdryer next to which is the toilet, shower and full size bathtub. Impeccably cleaned daily. Breakfast is worth the 15 Euros with a wide selection of items. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling with children or alone!
Wonderful huge room, with adjacent sitting room. Great views looking at the "walled city". Road construction out front made it a little challenging for the taxi service, and our tours, but obviously this is not the hotels fault. Very nice shower, however we seemed to have a little problem with controlling the water temperature. The front desk was very helpful, especially Heather who went over and above with her helpfulness in whatever we needed help with. Nice breakfast area and good food. Would be wonderful if this area could also serve dinner..
An arrival with a main entrance closed by works on the street. A disaster. The hotel clean, spacious, old, i.e. little updating of their rooms, their elevators always busy for service. An unattractive bar, where at 8pm they hesitate if they will attend or do. If you want a late check-out they tell you that you should pay Euros 15 for each additional hour, i.e. they have no have a real late check-out. Finally they accede and give us 1 hour of late check-out. . But the important thing the hotel satisfied with. Looking other hotels around, this is a luxury, of course you are light years far to be able to say that they are 4 stars. Who would grant them?
We visited here at the last minute as we were due to travel into the Alps but it had been snowing so we decided to head to Avignon instead. We originally booked in for one night but it was so nice and in such a perfect location that we stayed for two! We had a Superior room which was laid out with two double beds, a bathroom and a sitting room. It was very nice. The staff in the hotel were very polite and also very helpful, in particular Heather was extremely helpful and recommended a fantastic place for dinner on our final night, she even called ahead and made a reservation for us! The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the old city as it faces the old city wall, the only annoying thing was the roadworks out front as they were confusing and limited access to the front of the hotel. I suppose the good thing is that they won't be there forever! All in all a very nice stay.
Stayed here for two nights, had a junior suite, which was very nice, with a little lounge, & two double beds, bath & separate shower, & toilet. Staff were very helpful , especially Heather the American lady, told us of a great Pan Asian restaurant called Colonial, she called them up for us. My daughter is disabled so we needed room with her scooter. All was good, the owner was waiting outside for us when we arrived. The car was in a car park below the hotel, just took the lift straight up to the reception. Overall all was good, they were all very helpful.
A friend had stayed here and loved it. The location is good and were leaving on the train the next day. We were "upgraded" to a ridiculously large two-bedroom, two-floor suite. Had we known, we would not have gotten two rooms. First problem: no air-conditioning. We were sweltering and, of course, there are no screens on the windows so when we opened them, we were infested with mosquitos. Evidently, the air-conditioning is turned off in September - no matter how hot it is outside. The beds were hard as rocks. The icing on the cake was that when we tried to leave our room in the morning, were were locked in! A locksmith had to be called to let us out. The front desk lady was calm but completely uninterested or unconcerned regarding the situation. We were on the third floor. What if there had been a fire? A heart attack? Any emergency? Zero apologies from anyone, and the locksmith said the locks do this from time to time and need to be replaced every two or three years. After a rushed breakfast (which was excellent, I will say), we made it to our train on time.
