Our stay at Atelier dell Artista was okay. The room was clean and in a good location. The main problem was the air conditioner didn’t work and we weren’t told until several hours after our arrival. The attitude of the host was, you shouldn’t need it anyway. We did need it, especially during the day. At night we had to sleep with the doors and window open. There was a coffee maker but no coffee and we couldn’t find a store nearby to buy some.

This property is conveniently located in Varenna near the Piazza San Giorgio. It’s a fairly significant walk from the bus stop up the hill with luggage to the facility. Best suited for younger and fit senior adults. The room is comfortable however the shower needs a good cleaning, as there’s a bit of mildew present. And although it really isn’t a big thing, the request that we wash the dishes seemed a bit odd. We only had a few, so we hand washed them rather than using the dishwasher. The entry area is like a fortress and once we figured out the keys, egress and re-entry were easy. Nice small patio area to enjoy fresh air and a pleasant view. Small yard could use a bit of attention.

Great rental and definitely a destination vacation a must see. We loved the culture and how they have preserved the past. Easy ferry rides to several towns around Lake Como. Will definitely recommend.

For the most part it was good overall. Perfect location when it comes to being close to everything. (Ferries, restaurants, small grocery store & attractions) Hot water, use it wisely. Will run out quick. Bring towels if you need more then one per person. There is two set only. Washer is good but no dryer. Will have to hang clothes outside for it to dry. Do not leave it in the room. Will take 2 days to dry. Trust me. But otherwise, it was a very safe location.
