We totally enjoyed our stay at this property. The service was excellent. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel has been renovated in parts but not completely. We were in the older section that looked dated but it was quite and pleasant. We used hotel transfer to and from airport. The only complaint is the drivers excessive use of the horn. It was typically not necessary and it was totally annoying.

Clean and comfortable as you'd expect with all the usual amenities however the location is not particularly central, quite a distance out from all the action. Food was ok but not exceptional and more geared towards the western palate.

Approx 2 miles from the Ganges, this hotel is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the Ghats and city centre. Rooms are moderate in size and has excellent facilities, including bathrobes and USB points. Exceptionally clean throughout and the food (approx £9 for a main course) is at a high standard. Pool is clean and the gardens are lovely.

I haven’t stayed in the hotel because I have a home in Varanasi so that’s not needed but we celebrated my birthday in the restaurant of The Gateway Hotel Ganges. Food and dessert was great... staff was good too. I really liked the starters but if they could do something special for someone’s birthday then it would be great!! It’s obviously an upscale place so please think out of the box and make the birthday person feel special so that they’ll eagerly wait for there birthday so that they’ll come again for celebrations!!

We had a wonderful stay here. Everything was very comfortable. Good amenities. The pool looked inviting. The food was excellent with a wide variety of selections. The location was also very convenient. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a topnotch respite for your exploration of the Ganges with all its color, emotion and bustle, tucked back behind two intersecting streets. Beds are comfortable; bath, though not large, has modern amenities; immaculate room though smallish; and we found excellent service. In fact, when I attempted to leave the restaurant after lunch with a dinner bread and Sprite for my ailing friend, the waiter insisted that he carry it on a try to us on the 5th floor. Turndown was always on the scene with a smile. This hotel has an excellent gift shop; save some rupees for their wide array of silk scarves, among other clothing and jewelry items.

Family holiday - started on a slightly sour note, we didn't get the rooms of choice and no work desk - wrote to the management and they immediately rectified it to our satisfaction. The rest of the stay we simply realised how exceptionally good the staff was - day 2, me and my wife fell ill, probably something we ate the earlier night didn't agree with our stomachs - the hotel made doctor and medicine arrangements and provided food to our suitability. For our 7 month old daughter, the hotel accomodation whatever food we required and whenever we required it. With the Nadesar Palace next door, you can use some of their facilities such as dining, spa, etc All in all, a great stay.

Varanasi is such a powerful city. The hotel was located near the center of town so getting to the Ganges River and back was not difficult. THe service was ok. THe rooms were fine. Free wifi helpful staff. Interesting shops on the lobby floor with interesting decor. Needs to fix up the backyard. IT has potential. Not large with a boutique feel.

The great trip of varanasi and the hotel management is too good. Buildings are good and great. The reception is very cool and near to my room. I feel very good and comfortable in hotel. Overall best quality service and excellent food delicious.

A stay at this hotel is always looked forward to by our family. The staff is attentive, buffet breakfast is wholesome and is a huge spread and it is very ideally located. The rooms definitely looks cramped once the luggage is opened but the service covers up for it . Though it was quite full when we visited in January but individual attention was given. Various tips regarding a tour of Varanasi was given at the help desk which was so welcoming. The bar though is small but the service and the knowledge of the main bar tender is amazing. Our family gives the hotel a five star and we are looking forward to our next visit
