The lobby is small and has little room to sit with friends. The room was adequate but didn't have enough light. When I requested an additional lamp from housekeeping, they said it was impossible. I had to beg the manager to send one up. Breakfast was adequate, although not much of a variety. However, service was atrocious.I had to make over 3 requests for a cup of tea; something that the service people should have offered of their own accord
Where to begin First impression of the reception was good until one looked at the grubby rug and as every second question from staff was what group are you in it is clear this is very much a “group” type hotel. The bedrooms are adequate but dated with cracked tile, poor grouting and lack of a sink plug in the bathroom. Not only that but the toilet seat and cover did not march the bowl and was of the thinnest plastic. However the shower pressure was excellent. One of the two electric plugs in the bedroom did not work but the room cleaner who was friendly, cheerful and helpful found an adapter for us. First morning we got a 5 am call. On complaining to reception the guy said it had been ordered (certainly not by us!) and in the middle of our discussion he took a phone call. Dreadful training. The duty manager checked the records and advised we were not on the call list but a 5am call is just that 5am! They were not keen to admit responsibility. On return that afternoon from a tour of the city I found, along with many others, that our electronic room key did not work. Fixed but no apology. The restaurant/ cafe is quite adequate and the person whom I think was the cafe manager Riya both competent and cheerful. Now back in hotel after watching sunrise on the Ganges and packing to check out and find the TV is not working. Cheerful guy just came and fixed it. Tried to log in to Tripadviser to make this review before checking out but the hotel WiFi denies me access - perhaps they knew what I was about to say? One might even mention that the lifts, particularly the inside of the doors, could do with a regular clean.
We spent two nights in this hotel as a couple in November 2017. The room was large but quite shabby. Relative to global standards, this place would rate poorly as a five star property. But as Varanasi itself is such a crazy, dirty place, it’s not so bad to recover from its intensity. Nights were difficult without ear plugs. The howling of the dog chorus started about 4am and didn’t seem to let up. The location is in a controlled zone away from the main city. There’s a creepy mall a walk away but otherwise, to see any of the real sites of the city, it a thirty minute car ride. We were on the club floor (also called business class)but found the Club lounge to be empty and unstaffed on numerous visits. It was strange. Similarly, the spa was unstaffed so we couldn’t arrange a massage. Staff were friendly and courteous, no reason to fault them but not going out of their way to be helpful like many five star hotels. Breakfast was alright, with a tasty freshly made Dosa available. We had worse at other hotels. Overall, provided you have low expectations, this hotel is okay in a fascinating city. This is an hotel that caters for the coach tour party, well equipped fir the purpose. Excellent friendly and very helpful staff, no additional cost for the good standard of wifi. A little noisy at dawn when many people will be getting up for the dawn celebrations on the Ganges.
Beautiful hall Nice room, but the clim did not work...they repaired, but we changed room after 30 min waiting....the locker did not work in the other one.... No bath robe and carpet dirty and spotted Restaurant buffet was almost empty the two evenings we were there (20:30) Not a five stars
We had a 2 night stay here in October. The hotel is well located. Rooms are very tired and need an update. Plug points missing. Dinner in Kebab factory was very good, service a bit slow. Breakfast and dinner in the main buffet restaurant EastWest, was poor. Staff only interested in the large groups. We were hurried out of the restaurant, even though we were ala carte not buffet, not given the option to order dessert as they needed table for large group. As individual travelers did not feel welcomed in the main areas! The bar was a nice little find, staff excellent and lots of knowledge of India. Swimming pool was a nice rest area for a couple of hours. General areas of hotel needed a good clean. The hotel is not up to standards of a Radisson but ideal for a 2 night break. Maybe just a note to staff that all guests have paid to stay there not just the large groups!
The location is good, limited parking but valet parking services handles it well, reception staff are professional and quick, check in was smooth, rooms were cozy with all modern facilities and tub in the washroom to sink in for relaxation. Room Service was fast, taste of the food needs big time revamping. Over all a comfortable stay.
The hotel is well located and comfortable. But rooms are old and needs renovation. Basic items like plug points to charge missing near bed side. TV is also not functioning properly. Food in the resturants are very good, specially the Kebab Factory. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
We all enjoyed our stay, room was really good. Selection of food for dinner was excellent, drinks by Indian standards was exterminate as they all are in India. Sula wine is local and a good price but not in the list. Good location Please send staff to Agra and help with customer service
Radisson Varanasi is exquisite property in the city, we really enjoyed our stay. The food at eastWEST is sumptuous with decent varieties of cuisine. We got good service by the hotel staff in all the activities and task were completed as assigned as our schedule was tight for setups. Rooms are clean & cozy, washrooms can be improved as per the property standards. Travel desk was quick and responsive, you can hire day cabs to go to Kashi Vishwanath temple & Ganga Aarti. One find lots of international tourist coming everyday. If you in Varanasi, please consider to stay here.
