The Space:

Welcome to a comfortable Faroese home designed for slow mornings, fresh air, and simple, relaxed living.

One of the home’s most unique touches is its local-inspired bathing setup, created for the people who once lived here and loved starting the day the Faroese way: a brisk walk down to the fjord for a cold dip, followed by a steaming hot shower.

• The toilet is newly renovated and finished beautifully, giving you a fresh, modern space indoors.

• The larger and only shower is located in a separate shed connected to the house, offering a surprisingly cosy, spa-like routine—especially after a swim, a hike, or a windy day outdoors.

Inside the main home you’ll also find a bright living area for relaxing after a day exploring, a dining space for shared meals, and a practical kitchen for easy home cooking. The home works well for both short visits and longer stays, with heating, storage, and the everyday essentials you need to feel settled.

Large windows and the surrounding landscape give the property a calm, “away from it all” feeling—ideal if you want peace, privacy, and a genuine Faroese atmosphere.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive access to the entire home, (except for one storage room, that the owner uses) during their stay. You’ll have full privacy and can use all indoor spaces freely, including the kitchen, living areas, bathroom(s), and bedrooms.



The Neighborhood:

Válur is a small, quiet area connected to Vestmanna, known for its peaceful setting and close access to nature. This is a great base if you want to explore the Faroe Islands by car—whether you’re planning hikes, scenic drives, or day trips across Streymoy and beyond.

Vestmanna town offers useful local services, and you’re well positioned to reach both coastal viewpoints and mountain landscapes. If you’re after a more authentic, local feel—without the noise of the city—this location is a strong choice.



Getting Around:

• Recommended: A car is the easiest way to get the most out of this location and explore the islands efficiently.

• Parking: Available at the property.

• Nearby access: Vestmanna is close by for supplies and essentials.

• Airport: Vágar Airport (FAE) is reachable by car, (time varies depending on route and conditions).



Other Things to Note:

Boat tours to the Vestmanna bird cliffs are highly recommended and considered one of the highlights of a visit to the Faroe Islands. Weather can change quickly, so we recommend bringing warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear.



Check-in is from 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Please respect the house rules and remember to dispose of trash before departure.



We offer extra flexibility



Early check-in or late check-out can be arranged for an additional fee of 500 DKK each, subject to availability.

A baby crib and high chair can also be provided for an additional fee of 400 DKK and must be requested in advance.



Please note that a local tourism tax and administration fee apply to all stays. These are standard requirements in the Faroe Islands and will be arranged separately closer to arrival.
