Stayed for 4 nights. Excellent facilities for the price and entirely suitable for a short stay in Valletta. Renovated to a high standard. Breakfast very satisfactory. Staff charming. Must commend Aleksandra in particular: a most helpful lady who was a true professional: many five star hotel staff do not meet her standard of performance.
I would like to praise the hotel staff: Yelena, Sasa, Alexandra and Jean You're just charming !! Your concern for hotel guests is amazing From the very first moment, Jean had arranged for us to receive the room well in advance, and made sure the room was clean and organized. And at every request we had the staff handled quickly They also instructed us where to travel, what attractions there are and what convenient public transport there is in the area. The rooms are very good and large, the hotel staff cleans the rooms every day, Cleanliness and order at a high level. Breakfast is quite rich: sliced vegetables, scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, sausages, breads, three types of cereals, yogurt delicacies, a selection of cheeses, sausages and more. The dining room is intimate and has a unique atmosphere. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Valletta, only a few minutes away from most of the city's major attractions, very close to all types of public transportation: a bus terminal, taxis and a ferry to Salima. Amazing hotel, we enjoyed very much, thank you very much for everything. Barel
As I always say we travel a lot and therefore have a great deal of experience to draw on. So whilst I see many of the 5 star reviews as much as I want to I just can’t give this more than a satisfactory based on our allocated room. It’s biggest selling point is it’s great location. Within mins of the main attractions, bars and restaurants. But that creates some limitations such as space and noise. We knew that given the limitations on building in Valletta. So if you book a hotel in the city centre you have to expect that. However we were given room 100 on the ground floor next to reception and immediately knew it would be more noisy than planned - we asked if any other rooms were available but told they were fully booked. The windows from this room open onto a narrow space above the kitchen so in the mornings you hear them getting ready for breakfast if you haven’t been woken by the general reception noise you also get the smell of cooking drifting up. Additionally the air conditioning is connected to the floor above so if someone up there changes the temperature setting then your temperature has to follow their preference unless you switch yours off! We were told this by a member of staff who went upstairs and told them all to switch off theirs! Great service but shouldn’t be required. Some positives include the room has great WiFi, the coffee machines are good, the breakfast is plentiful (although a little limited) and the staff are really friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay a good one. Jean and Alexandra were so very helpful. You can buy the City Sighting tour tickets from them at €20 per person. We also ordered a taxi to the airport which again was €20. We had booked a private car from the airport which was €17. So it’s about right. Took only 15 mins on a Sunday.
Cleverly renovated former palazzo that has retained all the original floors and walls in main floor with contemporary rooms and bathrooms upstairs. Full breakfast in a beautiful stone walled basement. Wonderful staff, especially Aleksandra, who made sure we have the best time in Valletta and helped us with restaurants, taxis, directions etc. Every important sight such as St. John Co-cathedral and Grand Masters Palace is within a few blocks.
This renovated palazzo in the city of Valletta is excellently located to visit the city. Just around the corner from the Suq and a short stroll from everything happenning in the city. Staff are corteous, rooms are spacious and include all amenities expected. Works of art scattared around the common areas are a nice touch. Breakfast also merits a mention with unexpected options like smoked salmon and salad a fresh surprise from the usual fare. All in all a very convenient boutique hotel with accessible prices in a very competitive market where unfortunately prices asked almost never match the standards expected. Palazzo Paolina is an exception, well done! P.S. on a sorry note is the tragic state of the Palace Armoury and State Rooms. Elevators not functioning, noisy works in progress along with visiting tourists and a huge part of the exhibits missing with just a plain sheet of paper explaining they are being conservated. This world class collection deserves a lot better, Heritage Malta get your act together. Private ventures like Palazzo Paolina are setting high standards, try to keep up!
Lovely boutiqe Hotel. İn the city center. Rooms were clean. The personnel was extremely helpful. Breakfast is sufficient. Due to the structure of the Building the breakfast Lounge is Underground which makes it a bit humid.
This hotel is excellent in all aspects - quality, cleanliness, service, attention and convenience. Well appointed rooms with all conveniences. Outstanding, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast (included) in atmospheric setting. Very central and convenient locations. Cannot fault this property.
If you get a chance - take it. This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the centre of Valletta. Our room was brilliant and the roof terrace second to none. A beautiful conversion of a traditional Maltese building combining the old with modern design. Breakfast was great and staff very helpful. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you!
Like to say thank you to Alexander at the reception and her colleague who did everything possible to make our stay a superb one. Very clean rooms. This hotel is very central in Valletta great rooms considering it is in the middle of the town and very narrow streets obviously you are going to face another building. Excellent Breakfast. All staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a great time and will be back.
This hotel is well located, 10 minutes from the bus station, 5 minutes from the main cathedrals and very close to lots of bars and restaurants. The staff are fantastic, always smiling, and can't do enough to help you. Our room was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. They provide a great breakfast, good choices and all very fresh. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
