We stayed with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Plus side; great location, only 2 min walk to the slopes, close to town centre and rooms clean and tidy. Downside; spa smelt like a sewer, rooms extremely basic and had no tea coffee making facilities in room, boot room was overcrowded(you get your own locker with superior rooms). Tip: ski passes can be bought for less money at the bottom of the ski slope, you will Need passports to prove age of children/ teenagers. Ski lessons are available to book at the bottom of the slope all within 2 mins of the hotel. Overall good value
This is a rather expensive option but you pay for location which is excellent. The room was small but the beds comfortable. The staff are very helpful and courteous. The breakfast buffet is rather repetiive and boring, the coffee is awful. The wifi was poor, sometimes it didn't work at all. A lot has been made of the head waiter, a curious and colourful character, who 3 times kicked the back of my chair in his rush to be efficient. The restaurant food was rather hit and miss but the half-board seemed like a good idea from a price point of view. The spa was never warm enough and there were sporatic problems with the room heating.
Hotel Europe Cervinia, Great location for the slopes and ticket-office for lift-pass, multiple restaurant choices and shopping. Comfortable rooms and nice small wellness area. You can also acquire a lift-pass in reception area. Take time to enjoy a full breakfast in the nice restaurant viewing the mountains.
Hotel Europa is not a bad hotel by any means. When booking I had expected that it's location was its main advantage; near to the lifts. But on arriving in Cervinia you quickly realise that as the town is so small and there are a good number of ski lifts higher up and lower down the town that you are never really that far away from a lift. So I now realise it's not necessary to pay Hotel Europa rates when there is so much better value to be found throughout the town. The problem I think with Hotel Europa is that Hotel Europa lacks a soul. It's recent facelift tries to make it a "cool" hotel but it misses the mark. And when that happens then it simply becomes irrelevant. The hotel rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean, the dining room spartan and the breakfast experience unsatisfying. It took me three breakfasts to figure out how to muster a breakfast that nearly matched other less prestigious hotels from the limited fare and quality they had on offer. The staff are fine and friendly enough but have little to offer. The spa area is only good for a powerful shower and is again completely lacking in any real thought of how the guests would use it. The pool is not really a pool but rather a large communal bath as you can't actually swim in it. To do so they would need to instal a treadmill pool system or increase the pool size. They could do this as they do have ample space in the basement area ad you really do feel like you are rattling around in that space. The spa area did serve as an excellent facility to change in on the last day when we had checked out of our room but needed a place to refresh later on. My acid test is whether I'd go back. In this instance I wouldn't. Not even if offered a better value rate as I know I would find an alternative in Cervinia that had an owner with passion and a hotel with a "soul".
We initially had reservations about booking The Europa hotel due to the low score people had given the food & the absence of cupboards. However, we were very impressed with the food, there was far too much & both breakfast & dinner choice & quality was excellent, absolutely no complaints. The lack of cupboards wasn't a problem either, just had to be very organised & tidy. I can confirm that the wifi is slow (about 1.5mbs) & the signal strength is weak wherever you are, we used the WiFi in the Copapan (about 4mbs aswell as happy hour between 4 & 5pm, buy 1 drink & get another free, €10 for 4 pints of beer is good value). The room in the hotel was too warm at night with no way of turning the radiator down. We found all the staff very pleasant, cheerful & helpful. We have used several hotels in Cervinia & the Europa is a joint favourite with the Breuil hotel & we will definitely be going back.
We had one week at the hotel, skiing. This was our second visit. Great location and good price. Updated rooms. Nice bathroom, clean and warm. Good food, good service and helpful staff - we will return.
Positives 1. Very friendly restaurant staff who cheers me up every morning breakfast. 2. Reasonably good and fresh breakfast spread. 3. Good location, very close to ski lifts and city centre. Negatives 1. Little amenities in the room 2. Intermittent/Weak WIFI access in room. 3. Room's sound proofing is poor.
Had a lovely stay at Hotel Europa, situated very convenient close to the lifts and all the nice restaurants and bars. All perfect but a suggestion would be to have a more cosy bar area with nicer chairs and lightning. A bit expensive though..
The positives: good location near chairlifts and main shopping street, spectacular backdrop with the mountain just behind the hotel, nice looking lobby and entrance, cheap basement car park charges (€10 per day), good service from front desk and concierge (they helped booked our restaurants before arrival), and good breakfast. However, my room (222) was pretty dated, too warm with the central heating (had to open the balcony doors each time I get back to the room), with no tissue box or mineral water provided. The design of the shower over bathtub made it impossible to shower without wetting the floor. The balcony view overlooking the chairlifts and ski slopes was nice though.
Stayed w/c 18 march. Generally excellent as per other reviews, but rooms need some hooks to hang all the ski stuff every skier has, come on management, that is an easy thing to do. Also the walk in shower splashed out onto the bathroom floor every time but plenty of towels sorted that. The boot room isn't 4 star, the boot heaters in the lockers didn't all work but the blower ones did but they were very packed. Half board food was very good, except the orange juice at breakfast was just awful as others have said. Also agree previous comments about the smarmy head waiter... Beds very comfortable with nice small pillows. Overall though location, cleaning, food, staff very good. Recommended
