Our second visit and it only gets better. They have added a nice spa with a pool. The restaurant serves great food and the service is excellent. Very rich breakfast buffet. Rooms are well appointed. The Hôtel staff is very friendly and attentive to every need. A shuttle is offered to the lift or to the center of Courmayeur. There are very few hotels around Courmayeur offering a similar price service ratio.
We stayed for one week, and despite many issues happened to us (unrelated to the hotel), the staff was informed of this and endeavoured to make our stay a real dream, even if our problems were not due to them. We were with our dog, and not only he was "allowed", but he was really WELCOME! Very hard to find a similar kindness. Great location, super food, abundant and tasty breakfast, lovely staff, rooms, nice spa, amazing shuttle, everything together was more than perfect. We'll never forget our holidays! Thanks so much! P.S. Romeo will miss you!
Beautiful hotel. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Very clean and the whole hotel was maintained to a high standard. Lovely spa and pool area which we went in everyday. The pool is small but lovely. The food at the restaurant was incredible. We ate lots of meals here and they were all fantastic. They even told us we could order anything we wanted off menu which we did lots of times. Very child friendly.
We went with friends for a 5 night ski break in this lovely hotel . Very rarely am I compelled to write a review about a stay. But this hotel was faultless ! The cosy alpine décor. The view .The log fires. The superb spar. The food. The service. The list could go on, but most importantly the lovely staff, who could not have been more helpful and attentive We would recommend and return any time Thank you
A very welcoming and cosy hotel. The perfect romantic ski weekend with my wife. Really friendly staff. Very relaxing atmosphere with little living rooms to enjoy a quiet drink next to the fire. Amazing views of the maintains. Excellent breakfast spread. Brilliant spa area with modern swimming pool and sauna. The shuttle service is good and makes up for being slightly out of town. We'll definitely be going back.
We've just come back from a long weekend in Auberge de la Madison in Courmayeur. There were 6 of us celebrating our friends birthday. We had a fantastic time. The hotel was really lovely, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The beautifully decorated rooms in a cosy alpine chalet style. We devoured a delicious Italian four course meal every night, with fantastic wines. The spa was incredibly relaxing after a hard days skiing. Ambient lighting and a choice between a steam room or sauna to soothe those aching muscles. The swimmimg pool that leads outside, with views of the snowy mountains behind. Our rooms were immaculate and kept that way be very discreet staff. The beds were enormous and very comfortable. We really couldn't fault it and had an amazing time. We will definitely be back.
We booked this hotel as we wanted a few days away in the mountains - we weren't too bothered whether we skied or not, but wanted somewhere scenic and relaxing. This hotel exceeded our expectations on all counts. We booked a superior room which had double aspect views towards the mountains and Mont Blanc. The first few nights were midweek and the hotel seemed quiet...in our room at night and in the morning there was absolute silence - bliss! The final night was a Friday night and there was a fiar bit of noise from other guests in the corridor and next door. The hotel runs a shuttle during the day into Courmayeur at your request. We never had to wait for it. It stops running at 1930 in the evening, so you need to taxi back. If you ring the hotel they will book a taxi for you - be aware it's about 15 euros so you need cash. The hotel bar is very comfy - there are several small rooms around the chalet so you can find a quiet corner to settle in. The spa area is excellent. We didn't have any treatments, but LOVED being in the outdoor section of the indoor/outdoor pool, looking at the mountains whilst the snow gently fell. The sauna and steamroom were also great. I would say the most impressive aspect of our stay were the staff. They were unfailingly polite, enthusiastic and ready to help and suggest anything that made your stay better - from reception to bar, dining room, and the chaps helping with your car and luggage. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning.
This is quite simply, the easiest five star review I've written to date on TA. First let me tell you what I was looking for: I was looking for a winter resort that had a spa and was located near the slopes. I looked at over ten winter resort areas all over Europe before settling on Courmayeur. What's funny is that after choosing the location, I agonized over selecting a place for our family to stay (myself, husband, two kids 7 & 14). I still agonized even after finally settling on the Auberge and booking. From the first contact over email, the level of service at the Auberge blew me away. And emailed I did .. back and forth .. back and forth. Dinner reservations, spa reservations, ski rentals, lift tickets, dinner recommendations out in town .. each one answered, in English, with exactly what I needed to know. We arrived early and our room was ready -- our rental car was parked for us and not touched until we left again. They provide a shuttle service to the city center and the slopes, which is so convenient. We used a taxi once (20E) to travel from dinner in Dolonne back to the Auberge. Our room was absolutely perfect for us -- two twins made up for the kids, plenty of room, lovely view from the balcony. Lots of towels to go around (thank you!) and it was well cared for when we were out and about. The hotel itself is absolutely fantastic, from the moment you walk in the door. We spent happy times in the lobby on those couches enjoying a glass (or two) of wine .. kids with hot chocolate. They put nibbles out every night for guests to enjoy. The spa is wonderful. I booked three treatments there and my husband had one; we were pleased with all of them, the ladies are just fantastic. The pool area (and the steam room -- oh, the steam room with its aromatherapy that is just heaven in your nose) was well loved by our kids who took turns swimming inside and out. We did the half board and loved breakfast every morning -- the view just can't be beat .. and this morning the moon was up as well. We did dinner one evening at the hotel; we ate out in town every other night (one night walked up to La Palud and one night at Fuoripista). We preferred to not do the full board and would have made the same decision after eating at the restaurant. Auberge is perfect for families, couples get aways, singles, romantics -- we saw them all over this weekend. We would return in a heartbeat and am aggressively recommending to all of our friends hankering for a bit of a ski trip this winter.
The service was impeccable, picture-perfect location facing Monte Bianco and the decor quaint and inviting with wonderful deep sofas for lounging and reading. It's in Entreves, a lovely smaller town just down the road from Courmayeur, so a short drive or taxi from shops and most restaurants but walking distance to the tram up the mountain. The frequent sound of cow bells were a treat, and the indoor/outdoor swimming pool amazing. The breakfast is not to be missed, and the evening we had dinner at the property was exceptional. A dusting of snow in town our last day made for especially lovely memories.
The excellent reviews given to this hotel are fully deserved and I agree with what the majority of the reviewers have written. I will only point out a few details: - The TV has Sky Italy. Most series and films can be watched in their original language, which is often English. To do so, you simply press "i" and then choose the language (or ask Reception to send someone to show you how to do it: they are always happy to help). - We got a junior suite facing the front of the hotel, and it was a bit dark (but it had the most practical walking closet I ever saw in a hotel room!). Rooms facing the back of the hotel or with a view of the Mont Blanc should be brighter. - Dinner starts at 19:30, which is really too late for people who have been skiing all day. 19:00 would be a better dinner time. The restaurant staff and food are exceptional. It is very convenient to include half-board when booking. Dinner consists of 4 courses. They let you choose each one of the courses from the menu among 5-6 options, and you can mix and match as you wish: they are very flexible. Trust the Maitre if you don't know which wine to order. - The spa is a bit small, but what bothered us most was people leaving their bathrobes on the few lying chairs available ("booking" them), while they spent all the time in the pool or elsewhere. So all the chairs were empty but no-one could use them. This is something that should be addressed by the spa staff. Don't be put-off by the negativity of this review, because it is an exceptionally good hotel, the rooms are super clean and comfortable, the food is of prime quality and - most of all - the staff is out of this world.
