The pulled pork with barbeque sauce was delicious, as was the Brie and beetroot tart. Brilliant chips, lovely service and amazing views from the restaurant. Highly recommended, will return again soon, may stay the night this time.

Stayed there 15,16th Oct 19. Lovely historic family run hotel. Great rates off peak, excellent hearty food served in dining room come bar , at reasonable rates. Warm fires, cheery staff, if you want to see how hotels used to be ,then this for you. Would go back any time.
We stopped at Valentia Island and had a coffee and a scone here, it was nice, and we got at table with view, it is very old school and charming. It was the only place open we we've been there actually, but it was fine.
I did not stay in the hotel as we were staying with a friend in Knightstown, but had a lovely meal there. The restaurant also has a large bar which was always crowded with tourist and locals. For our meal, my spouse had Fish and Chips with mushy peas. I had the pan seared salmon, which came with mashed potatoes, asparagus, mashed carrots, mashed parsnips and broccoli. Just a warning, portions are large. The food is very good, and the hotel itself is worth a visit. Although Queen Victoria never stayed there, her son did, hence the 'Royal' in the name.
I spent 2 wonderful nights the The Royal. It is such a distinctive looking spot when you see it: a modestly majestic looking hotel literally a stone's throw from the water. Happily, the Royal isn't "just another pretty face." My room, a standard single, was much larger than I expected with a big comfy bed that was so very, very comfortable. The windows let in plenty of natural light and fresh air but the curtains did a great job of keeping the sun out in the morning. The room was very quiet, too. The wi-fi was fast though I never made use of the TV so can't speak to the selection of channels, etc. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and good pressure, too. The room itself as well as the halls, stairs and striking lobby were all spotlessly clean which can't be easy given the often rainy days I experienced leading up to, and during, my stay there. Finally, the check-in was very warm, friendly and efficient - many thanks, Brid! Brid also helped to book me a trip to Skellig Michael (which, alas, was cancelled due to the weather) and arranged a taxi from the Cahersiveen-side of the car ferry. If you are ever in Valentia and need a hotel with plenty of character, a great restaurant and bar on the steps of the Atlantic, treat yourself to The Royal.
Stayed here last month, good room, great location, decent breakfast with amazing staff. Vincent, in particular was very helpful - he even helped fix my car puncture so if and when i return to Kerry, I'll be staying here. Highly recommended!
Hotel Valentina is right in the centre of Kingstown on Valentina Island with great views over the mainland. The bar/restaurant within the hotel offers good food and a great atmosphere, including a good variety of options for breakfast. Room was large and had everything needed and staff were really helpful.
Large room with comfy beds. Restaurant served good local produce including several seafood dishes and food as served quickly even though they were busy. Breakfast was hearty. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Easy parking on the road outside.
