We were at this neat, stylish, and elegant hotel for 5 days and are amazed by all the services we received. We got a room with no "view" but since we booked a package tour, we also didn't expect a room on the 8th floor. When we were in our room our window had an issue. Called the Front Desk and within a second after we hang up the phone, the maintenance guy was already knocking on our door! Within 5 minutes we get a new room. The size of the room is very airy, you can easily do the workout in your room or even in the bathroom. Love the separate little glass door between bathing area and toilet area. Breakfast is very impressive with all kinds of variety of food and drinks, you named it! We have seen this kind of amazing breakfast at Van Der Valk- Eindhoven in Holland, and at Royal Orchid Sheraton in Bangkok and there you will see the same things every single day. But not here in SH Valencia Palace. Their Chefs really spoil all the guests. The receptionists at the Front Desk are all helpful and friendly. And if you really want to dig into Valencia, then ask for Jose Rosa, he has excellent resources of knowledges of his hometown. And that ,believe me, will make you much more enjoy your trip in this beautiful city. What I like most is the atmosphere of your own privacy in this hotel. All the personnel treat us professionally and they are well trained. They must have a very tough MD, I guess. I am certainly not an easy or friendly guest but you have to try and prove whether this appraisal correct or not?
Was at the hotel for a business conference and some of the hit and miss during my stay. I didn't managed to check out their gym or swimming pool. For the meals, it was taken care of by part of the conference, so F&B experience could be different for other guests. Good: - friendly staff, even we had language barrier, they tried their best. The front staff were great, the team in the breakfast - was "functional". - Very spacious room. I don't think its out-dated or old, the design is just not gear toward the modern style. Otherwise, everything works in my room. - Location isn't too bad - walking distance (10mins) to eateries, shops. Bad: - The room / hotel does not provide iron & ironing board. For business travelers., the only option is to pay for the pressing services - 1 small bottle of water a day which is not enough. When i request for another bottle, it was considered as mini-bar consumption. Thankfully i got it waived during check-out. I have not stayed in other Valencia hotels before so there is not benchmark for comparison. While you cant compare this with other international brands, but overall, this hotel delivers.
Using the SH Valencia Palace as a base we went to Valencia to discover a city we’d heard and read a lot about and came away really happy with our stay Concerning the hotel. We’d read the reviews, especially the negative ones and I have to say a lot of the minus points raised weren’t there. There was a kettle in the room, the air-conditioning was quiet, the hotel didn’t look old or in need of a serious refresh, the breakfast room was spacious and air-conditioned, the staff spoke English and as to whether the hotel merits its 5 stars well more on that in a minute but I will say this now: when I stay in an upper class hotel an attentive service is what I expect, not distributors or the coffee makers you find in Budget hotels. The hotel Check-in/Check out/Conciergerie: Friendly, efficient and English speaking The Restaurant: We arrived at the hotel at 3 pm went to the room, left the bags and went in search of Lunch. At 3.30 We went to the restaurant where we were served a Paella, Salad and drinks. Yes the restaurant was just closing but the Headwaiter still served us and with a smile, so a big thank you to him from two tired travelers The Room (#437): A classic double room with Minibar, safe, ample space in the wardrobe for everything. The double bed was big and the bed covers big enough and warm. The sleeping quality was very good. The room technicians (chambermaids) were all friendly and did a great job. One minus point I could find in the room was that the window either didn’t close properly or wasn’t sound proof. We could hear people speaking in the street below but after a while it goes quite and if you don’t support ambient street sounds then take earplugs along. Globally it was a nice room but perhaps lacking a bit of character. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped with complementary goods. and a bidet, always a plus point in my books The only minus point I could find to say about the bathroom was the glass door to the shower/Bath unit. Water sprays/Leaks over onto the floor and if you’re not careful it’s slippery Breakfast: On arrival the receptionist offered us a special discount breakfast rate, a much appreciated gesture. Again the room was spacious and well ventilated, not noisy, cramped or dim as I’ve experienced in other hotels. Breakfast itself was plentiful and varied with local/Spanish specialties as well as the same scrambled eggs you find the world over, along with Tortillas, pancakes and omelettes, which certain reviews had commented on. Personally I had no issue there, probably because we’re early risers so the staff weren’t rushed and took the time to spare a couple of words with the guest. All in all it was a pleasant stay, the staff were friendly, the service was professional, the hotel fresh and well serviced. Does it merit five stars. Probably. We didn’t try the Wellness facilities or swimming pools which is where the qualifications for obtaining 5 stars might be found, along with the room sizes, 24 hour service etc. The only little detail that would have really added the 5 star to the whole, for me, would have been if the hotel had the character/atmosphere of a period palace. But as I said it was globally a pleasant stay and another hotel to add to the list I wouldn’t hesitate visiting again and recommending.
Terrible hotel, even though the suit was specious it was old and dated. Nothing felt really clean. The AC was loud and only works if it's on high blast and the lowest temperature, and so dirty God knows what I was inhaling all night, woke up with a headache. T. V has only Spanish on it, very annoying cause other hotels in the city has the option of removing the dubbing. At SH they blocked the option. The room service I tried twice it was disgusting food. The breakfast held in the basement with ugly oily food, the automatic coffee machine... You get my point... I would not give them 4 stars. I can say the staff was very friendly and really tried to help but mannegment resisted. The spa was decent, nothing special.
We stayed in room 703 that was superb. The hotel was a wow factor, the breakfast was a joy. My only slight irritation, was the omelet chef had an annoying habit of making you wait until he finished cutting up melons before he would serve you (he did this 3 consecutive days). Otherwise every other aspect of this hotel is wonderful.
We stayed here for a 4 day city break before heading down the coast for some R&R. We chose this hotel for the rooftop pool and the spa. When we checked in we were given a discount voucher for the spa, for later in the week. Unfortunately when we tried to book the spa it was closed because it was 'broken' and it wasn't going to be fixed before we left. The rooftop pool area needs a refurb. It's not a terribly pleasant place to relax. Our room, 539, had fantastic views over the Turia . It's also on a busy road but we were not disturbed by traffic noise. All necessary toiletries are provided and replenished daily. Robes & slippers are also provided. There is no tea/coffee making facility in the room. Breakfast is very good. Everything you would expect including an omelette station. We loved the machine for freshly squeezed orange juice. Get your coffee from the waiter it's far superior to the machine. The staff at breakfast are all friendly and attentive. Our special thanks go to the assistant manager who handled a customer service problem for us.
hotel well located great rooms with all the required amenities, staff very professional and helpful top marks to the bar staff team, Josie Lopes was a star, she was always smiling and able to give you your "special time" while ensuring the rest of the customers were looked after as well, Breakfast was superb with a wide and varied selection, would return if in the city again.
Good location by with view over the park, very nice room, very clean, very friendly staff in the reception and bar. We didn't get a chance for using the pool or roof top bar because we were there in March and they weren't open.
Our adapted room was perfect and a good size. Nicely decorated and lovely sheets and towels. Parking underground. Taxis outside as well as a bus service nearby if you don't want to walk across the "river" to town. The staff were very accommodating.
The Hotel is very well located. Key word: the space. The volumes are big and it is very confortable. Rooms are quite ok. Service room : perfect. Food: breakfast is amazing Special mention to the bar team : cocktails are excellent and people are very nice. I recommend a break there if you have time. Definitively, you will enjoy!
