This was our first visit/stay in Vail. We aren't skiers, but I saw Vail is supposed to be a faux Europe, so I wanted to see for myself. I would say it's pulled off pretty well. Long time businesses are here and it adds an authenticity. Everything in our room worked properly, nice bed & shower. Lots of walkability from the space. I went to the Betty Ford Alpine Garden and read all the plaques, that is my idea of a good time! Still an impressive display covered in snow. I learned a lot and loved it.

Room was comfortable, cozy, clean, and spacious. Staff was friendly. Fireplace inside room startled me after turning it on the next morning with a loud explosion and the protective glass shattered. Staff at front desk was non-plussed and offered neither an apology nor any credit/accommodation. After I returned to the front desk I politely asked for a credit and was then offered a valet credit but only after I initiated. This was an opportunity to provide excellent customer service and the staff dropped the ball in a major way. Big disappointment.
