Affordable stay in Vail

There aren't many affordable options in the heart of Vail, so this was the best option for having everything within walking distance. The lodge is showing its age a bit, but overall it's still well kept and clean. Perhaps the biggest surprise to me was the lack of A/C. Fortunately I did not spend much time in my room during the day, and at night it cooled down with the window open and fan blowing. Aside from the lack of A/C, this lodging met all of my needs. It was clean and comfortable and did have plenty of amenities. More importantly, you can walk out the back exit and you're right at the trail and main thoroughfare that takes you both to Vail Village and over to the Lionshead area and gondola.

Ok for a brief stay

A one night stay during a road trip. This is an older property, but economical for the Vail area. There is NO AC! I missed this in the hotel description and it was a warm few days. They provide a tower fan that made it livable. Great location, walkable to Vail Village. Ok for a brief stop.

Nicely appointed

I loved the dual sinks and ample counter space. Bathtub was in a condition I would take a soak in if I'd had time. The only I didn't like was the lack of sheer layer beneath the weighty curtain, since our room overlooked the parking lot and Interstate. Divided compartments for waste vs recyclables would have been nice as well.
