Beautiful hotel in Vail Village, everything about our stay was perfect. We travel quite frequently, and this hotel was easily at the top of our list of nicest hotels-5 out of 5 in every category. The grounds are just gorgeous, the spa is awesome, and the staff was so friendly and helpful! Stay here!!!
The Sonnenalp is a first-class hotel with all the amenities. The entire hotel is so well designed, with a great lobby, library, lounge (live music every night), and dining rooms... Our favorite was the casual Bully Ranch bar/restaurant. The Sonnenalp breakfast was fantastic, with an amazing variety of fresh fruits, meats, homemade breads & pastries. The hotel is about a five-minute walk to ski lifts, but the Sonnenalp has a ski concierge located right next to Gondola One, where you store your skis, poles, snowboard, and boots (with air dryers), and attentive staff. We were also very impressed that the owner, Johannes Faessler was a visible friendly presence, making sure that everyone was happy, and willing to chat and answer any questions. He has to be one of the top hoteliers in Vail & the Rockies!
The Sonnenalp is a fantastic place to stay when in Vail. The location can't be beat and the spa is excellent!
Wow. The Sonnenalp is really lovely....didn't get off the to best start as our bags weren't delivered to the room, a light bulb was out and it would have been nice to have water waiting in the room for us but other than the first 1 hour everything else was PERFECT!!! Excellent food (breakfast buffet and restaurant with all the windows are fantastic!), the staff is amazing, the spa and the free fitness classes are excellent, the trips the plan for you outside of skiing are super fun and the room is spacious with an UNREAL bathroom. The towels/bathrobes are great AND to top it off they leave delicious cookies in your room every evening. The base camp is a must -the BEST part? Very few kids.....this hotels is simply lovely.
Beautiful luxury, hotel, well located, close to restaurants and shops, friendly service.....one of the nicest hotels in Vail
We were only in Vail for the night which was disappointing because the city and the Sonnenalp are fabulous. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and cozy. We really loved the fireplace and the humidifier. The bathroom was fabulous! We would love to come back
Was able to enjoy a few days at the Sonnealp during October. Perfect weather, walked to the farmers market - in fact, loved it so much ended up staying an extra day. Cant wait to go back!
It was low season and the water heater was broken and therefore none of us had hot showers.
I was so looking forward to staying here. It's been on my list of Vail hotels and unfortunately when we were there they had no hot water. The lady at the front desk said that this was something that she could not prevent but what was strange is that this was a problem that seemed to be affecting only those who were staying there that night. It was off season so I am sure it was a planned maintenance issue which went badly. There were many empty rooms which they did not offer us to stay in. This is so weird. So, for this reason, I was really disappointed. Def. won't be staying there again.
We stayed for couple of days at the Juniper Suit. The room was very clean and well equipped except mattresses and pillows could be upgraded. Not comfortable. The stuff was friendly. Went to the farmers market. Did some hiking around town. Great place for family vacation!
Amenities were spot on. Able to rent both cruisers and mountain bikes from the hotel's attentive staff.
Sonnenalp is great. It does not get much better than that in Vail. Staff was always helpful.
Wonderful experience. Staff was really nice without being intrusive. Breakfast is excellent. Room was beautiful and really comfortable.. Best of all is the ski concierge service at base of main lift. Yes, not inexpensive, but worth it if budget allows.
