A salt hotel it is. Great service from the front desk and the room was large and well appointed. Plenty of electrical outlets. Breakfast was pretty good but dinner could have been better. We were very surprised that the waiting staff basically had no English. A fabulous pool and spa. A pity we didn't know about it as we left our swimmers in La Paz.

This hotel is a wonderful luxurious surprise on the edge of the salt flats. It is stunning to look at. Our room was large with a separate sitting area. There were a number of sitting areas throughout the property with tea and coffee available all day in the lobby. Breakfast and dinner buffets were very good. Staff were all very helpful.

We stayed over night with my family of 4. Besides the unexpected luxury you find in this hotel the best part was the service from the friendly staff, from the front desk to the bar and restaurant staff they were all very friend and even supplied a birthday cake for one of my family members. Loved the decor of the rooms and the hallways. Would have loved to stay more nights but had tours scheduled. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to the salt flats.

This hotel came as a very good surprise. Beautiful, warm, cosy, roomy, clean. Service was very good, people are nice and accomodating. Everything is there to make you feel home, away from home: spa, pool, pool tables, well appointed seats to relax, send e-mails or enjoy a lovely conversation. Breakfast and dinner at the buffet style restaurant was plentyfull, with variety and very tasty food. The gas fire places everywhere sure makes the place feel warm and welcoming, especially when you come back from the stunning and surreal Salar minutes away. So...a surreal surprise. Loved it!

Beautiful hotel, great experience but I hoped for better views of the Salt Flats! And the price was very high, we expected a bit more. Breakfast could use more cereal and oatmeal options for vegeterians. But overall a very nice hotel.

The Salt Flats are absolutely surreal. The Hotel Palacio de Sal is enchanting. We had a suite which was exquisite, dinner was lovely, enjoy the sauna while watching a magnificent sunset. Highly recommended staying here.

We’ve taken the free hotel shuttle leaves at 14:15 from “Hotel Jardine” in Uyuni town, the journey has taken 30mins to the hotel (other than schedule the shuttle costs USD35 per person). Since it is no point for us to arrive the hotel before the official check in hour, we’d rather stroll around the tiny city in the morning. When the shuttle is approaching the hotel, it was really close to the salt flat (maybe 5 more mins driving), the exterior is luxurious, so does the interior. Check in was pretty easy, they will lead us to our room and show the facility inside, the roof was built with salt block, we could hear some salt drops on the floor which was very interesting, no wonder there were staffs continually blooming the wooden floor. Each guest were offered a piece of salt chocolate, which tastes real good. The bedding was very comfy, there’s built in heater in the room and bathroom, amenities in the bathroom, most importantly a hairdryer; electric blanket, safe box, refrigerator, fan, lots of space to open our suitcases. After we settle down, we walked around the whole property, and we found an indoor swimming pool, quickly get changed our swimsuit and dig into the water. The water was warm, the pool itself was actually a jacuzzi, we’ve enjoyed the “water massage very much”. Surprisingly a server came and poured us glasses of tea and lemonade. This is definitely the best place in this hotel. We’ve had our dinner buffet in the hotel restaurant for USD27 each, although the food choices are not so many, around 15 dishes with local and western cuisine, the quality of each dishes were of 5-star, especially the salad bar and llama grill, we’ve ordered a small bottle of Riesling, the server was professional in serving wine, what a great dining experience! The only down side was the flushing in room, it was not working, only some water comes out in each flush, we’ve asked about that at the reception, someone went to check and say it was a water pressure problem, but I was once used the toilet at the lobby after check out, I found that the water pressure in here and the room were entirely different, which proof that the flush in our room was malfunctioning. Also there was a good amount of water and black things come out from the bottom of the shower. But for us, we just stay for one night only, so it isn’t a big deal. Breakfast buffet was good, with many kinds of fresh juices, hot and cold milk, tea and coffee, we could order scramble eggs, the desserts were yum! All in all, we’ve had a great stay in this salt hotel, recommended!! Check in: 3Apr2019 Check out: 4Apr2019 Room number 120

Aproaching the hotel makes you feel - where will we end up? But when you arrive at the front door, enter the hotel and meet the friendly staff you are feeling like in another world: it is luxery in the middle of nowhere or better said right at the border of the Salar! The non standard rooms are big and you sleep under a dome of salt blocks. The spa is fantastic - maybe the pool water should have salt water, that would fit! The restaurant - breakfast and dinner has good quality. Overall we would visit this hotel again and recommend it for people who look for something special!

This place has so much potential and yet failed us in so many ways. I was extremely disappointed with the level of service and communication at this hotel. CHECKIN: When we checked in, they did not inform us that we need to order Lunch 24 hours ahead. This means we can only eat whatever is at the bar. Which is a ham sandwich and chips. Very upsetting to hear. Other parts of check in was perfectly fine. Dinner: Dinner was a open buffet which we were fine with. What was upsetting was the waiter. In the middle of our dinner, he approach us with a check for our two soft drinks and then rudely taps on our table and said "make sure you tip." I thought maybe I might have misunderstood him. But he came back with our change and again taps on the table and said "Tip. you have to leave Tip!" Wow... are you going to follow us to our room if we didnt tip? Room condition: our heater was broken and one of the ceiling panels fell so we had a whole in our ceiling... I'm just going to leave it as that. Checkout: 12:01PM I was heading out the room and the phone rang and it was front desk screaming at me that I need to leave the room. Lady suggested to have lunch at the bar and reminded us that we have to pay for it. Yes we are aware that we would have to pay extra to eat at the bar. Free shuttle- Shuttle pulls up and broke down cause it was out of gas and we have to wait for another shuttle. We barely made our flight. Hotel management needs to re-train, fix up their hotel and re brand.

Even thought this hotel is made of salt, it really doesn’t do justice to the magnificent place that is the salt flats. Service was at most okay, the water in the shower was cold and the food choices were non existent, considering you’re in the middle of nowhere. Anyways it was not worth the price.
