I stayed here in July for a short family visit. This hotel is great. It's extremely convenient to the Amersfoort Centraal train station, the buses that come from there, and the downtown area. Staff was great - very caring and professional. The breakfast buffet quite excellent with good juices, lots of varieties of Dutch breakfast specialties (there is such a thing), and Jura coffee machines. It was easy to extend my two-night into a three-night reservation when a storm threatened my scheduled flight path. Definitely will be here again.
I'll begin by saying that I am able to provide a good review of this hotel. It's centrally located, about 5 minutes walk from Amersfoort Station. The rooms, even standard ones, are comfortable with good beds and very good selection of TV channels for those who like to know these things. The breakfast is extensive with a wide selection of hot and cold items, all of high quality. Check-in was fine...but read on further in relation to this. Staff were generally friendly and welcoming. Like I said at the outset, a strong recommendation. I would stay here again. Now for the concerns...the first is a particular dislike of mine. It might not be for everyone. On check-in, I was asked for a deposit of 50 Euros per night to cover incidentals. I've always associated this practice as an American one and this was the first time I've been asked for this in a European hotel. It's not a practice that I approve of. Even if hotels are able to justify this practice...they should clearly state in their terms and conditions of booking that this is an additional charge. I refused to pay the incidentals charge because I don't use room service or mini-bars which are are always overpriced and tend to offer poor quality and value for money. I also think that €50 for each night (60%) of the per night rate I received is extortionate. My final concern is about the bathroom...the combination bath and shower are both excellent, however the high side of the bath makes getting in and out quite hazardous. I would be amazed if there hasn't been an accident, particularly as getting out was like walking on ice. Surely a health and safety risk?
Stayed for a 1 night stopover due to the good location near train station. Cant judge on B fast as we left too early for that. Spacious room, good bathroom with tub, amenities, AC, TV, wifi; excellent staff service. Recommended!
We had a one night stay during our recent travels through the Netherlands. It was a great experience. The location is very close to the train station and the historic city center. Hotel staff were cheerful and helpful, and we appreciated nice touches like the fruit flavored water available in the lobby. The room was great and quiet and the breakfast buffet was among the best of our vacation. We would definitely stay again!
Chose the hotel purely because of its location and wasn't dissapointed with either that or the hotel itself. Great place to stay for a week. Not likely to retutn to the Netherlands in the foreseeable future but if I do, I'll stay at this hotel again.
I stayed in the hotel for one night and had a pleasant stay, the beds are very comfortable, the bathroom could use some refurbishment. Excellent breakfast buffet and very friendly staff. Another plus is the location; few minutes walk from the train station and city centre.
The first nice welcome you receive upon entering the lobby is the friendly and polite counter staff. Everything was explained clearly. Lobby has free self-dispensing flavoured drinking water and mints - really convenient and is not something I've seen in many hotels around the world. Room was clean, quiet, spacious and peaceful. Bathroom is also nice but here's my only complaint, it did not have a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste. As for the breakfast spread.. you know how in many other hotels, the conversation right after breakfast is about how this was good but that was not? Here in NH, EVERYTHING was great! They served good quality hams, cold meats and cheeses, wide selection of freshly baked bread, fruits were fresh and tasty, scrambled eggs and bacon very well done.. the high quality of the breakfast was simply unbelievable.
Bathtub is uncomfortably to leave. With wet feet accident hazard... Breakfast was excellent. Great location also for trips to Amsterdam as train station is near. But Amersfoort is also worth to visit.
The hotel is centrally located. The bar is in the dining area, which on itself feels cramped. Rooms arr basic and bathroom small and not modern. Rooms could really benefit from an overhaul. But good enough for a sleep
Located at 7 minutes from the train station this beautiful hotel is a perfect location for a business stay in Amersfoort or Amsterdam! The staff is young but very professional and pleasant! The rooms are clean with nice bed and bathtub! Highly recommended!
