Cons: The blankets were not entirely to our liking, but that's personal. The hotel's breakfast is okay-good, but since the hotel is located so close to the city-center I recommend having breakfast there. =) Pros: We absolutely loved the location of the hotel. It's conveniently placed on just a 10 minute walk from/to the city-center and train-station, which makes it perfect for exploring Amersfoort. The room was clean, well maintained and the bathroom pretty big for hotel standards. I usually bring my laptop for late-night movie/series watching in bed, and was pleasantly surprised that they had an HDMI and VGA connection board right underneath the (42") TV for easy access. Loved that! Especially in combination with decent internet... ;) We can recommend this hotel to anyone that would like to visit Amersfoort.
Already stayed here once, the hotel is nice enough but the service is disappointing. Booked three rooms for a follow up business trip in March but due to a mix up with a work colleague one of the rooms is not required. Called the reservation desk within a couple of hours of the booking to see if is a possibility of a cancellation. Reservation desk made no effort to accommodate. Very disappointing as would normally expect there to be some flexibility calling within a few hours of the booking. Ultimately quite a self-defeating approach as we will be visiting the city a number of times over the next few months and would've stayed in future as well.
Stayed in the Mercure hotel for five nights with our baby daughter to see family. Parking is within the multi-storey attached to the hotel and it was really easy to go from car to hotel reception. €7 a night for parking. We booked a privilege king size room and it was so worth the upgrade from a standard room. The big windows make the space so light and the sunrise is nice to wake up to. There was so much space to move around and it was a nice surprise to see a proper crib set up and not a travel cot. Nice addition of a nespresso coffee machine so the morning coffee was really nice. Fridge and safe located in the cupboard underneath. Lots of wardrobe space. On floor two there's a gym, trampoline 'gym' space, restaurant and bar. Down a few floors via the escalator is access to some shops including a couple of supermarkets. Handy for grabbing a few drinks/snacky foods for the room! Access to the hotel rooms is via keycard which is a nice security measure. Hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. Hotel is located by the new shopping area and it's about a 15-20 minute walk from the central town. The cinema is across the road along with another big supermarket (doesn't accept credit cards). There's also a really good all you can eat (and drink) sushi place called Sushi Today in that area. The train station is about ten minute walk in the other direction but there are regular buses that stop right outside the hotel. Looking forward to coming back and would stay here again.
This is my second visit to this hotel and once again it didn't disappoint. Really professional staff from check in to checkout. A special mention to the young lady on reception called Liselotte, who actually lent me her own iPhone Charger when I didn't have one. Liselotte went above and beyond good service and is a credit to the company. Overall great value for money.
Nice Hotel. clean and decent rooms. Hotel has no private parking, but there are enough places where you can parc. Big shopping centre across the street with lot's of shops and a cinema. Friendly staff.
Our second visit during New Year’s Eve was made extra special by the floor to ceiling window with a view over all the fireworks! The room itself was spacious with a sitting area in front of the large window, an excellent bed, large TV, good bathroom with walk-in rain shower, bathrobes and hairdryer. The breakfast in a windowless room is an awkward mix: buffet but also staff that walks around with cappuccinos and other coffees, eager to remove your plate the second it is empty. You can order your eggs any way you like from the chef. The buffet offers bread, yoghurt in a glass (?) to go with the fruit and granola you put in a bowl. Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, American style pancakes, bread, croissants, lots of typically Dutch sweets to go on your bread and some savory like cheese and ham.
We spent our Christmas holiday at Mercure Amersfoort and it did not dissappoint. Clean beautiful room and friendly staff. No problems checking in and out. In fact was very fast. Room was pretty and clean. No real view though.Still, the location is walking distance from shopping mall, Amersfoort city center and the central station (the latter is about 15 mins, 10 if you are the sporty type) All in all, we had a good time.
Friendly reception, plenty of parking space in this modern hotel.easy to reach by car or Train. Close to the old city center. Amsterdam or Utrecht can easily be reached by train.thos hotel lies behind the railway station. Restaurant in hotel available with good service. Rooms are modern and fully equipped. The beds are of good quality. Wi fi thru the hotel is free of charge.
I stayed at one of the premium rooms of Mercure (on the 10th floor) since I booked via the NWO (as I was presenting at a NWO supported conference in Amersfoort). The staff were friendly, the room comfortable. After returning from the trip I needed a receipt from the restaurant/bar of Mercure to submit to my university. When I contacted the friendly staff they immediately helped me out. Definitely a wonderful place to stay if you are going for work.
