I'm sorry to say this, but this is not a three star hotel. The service was very helpful, the hotel was satisfactory. It has a good connection to the middle of the city (bus station close to the hotel), quite a big parking. Unfortunately if should be urgently renovated.
So old, maybe older than my father, and never been renewed. And small rooms, you cannot even put your luggage on the floor and open it. And dirty (see pics) And the staff... Bad and not polite, and they pretended me to pay all the week during the checkin. Simply crazy, never saw before. I booked for all the week but I left after one night
Last saturday i was invited by a friend of mine to get a dinner, he stay at this Hotel, we orderd 2 shrimp kroket, pasta chicken pesto and a dish mixced grill with Zuurkool, the food is delicious, and taste very well, so it is good to go overthere, Go and find out, in mine opinion it is ok!
We had a 3 hour business meeting with 13 people. The meetingroom was basic but ok. Wanted to have dinner after the meeting, There was onliy choice out of 2 menus, We could not choose a la carte. The quality was very average. Not bad but products seemed to come out of convienience packages in stead of self made. Price of all together was very good but it was not only low price we came for. The experience in the restaurant was a bit of a DDR feeling. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They could not do more in this older facility.
Was ok but we'd stayed in Gouda the week before & that was more modern & felt much cleaner. Although the hotel was non smoking, our room smelt of smoke & we had to sleep with the window open as my husband is asthmatic. Bar was ok but nothing special.
On the plus side: very good value for money. It's a very simple hotel, but also quite cheap. The hotel seems clean, but only the easiest to reach surfaces, and things have quite a worn look. There's a fairly new LCD TV bolted to the ceiling in one corner. The old holes to support the previous CRT TV are still there in the same corner of the ceiling, together with a huge black stain where the old (hot) TV used to be.
The hotel is OK if you are looking for a simple place to sleep for 1 or max. 2 days. Pricing is moderate but rooms are small (tiny) with hardly space to move. Rooms lack any atmosphere but maybe we are demanding too much Don't bring a large suitcase because there is no luggage rack nor the space to put it. There are not even hooks to hang your jacket. Second set of towels is in the wardrobe: confusing...... Desk is tiny but WIFI is good. Confusing / non-functional TV remote. Staff not very "outgoing" but looking at other reviews we may have met the wrong ones / bad day. We didn't take breakfast as IKEA is very close by where you can get a breakfast for 1 € in a somewhat more lively atmosphere. Shopping Centre close by with several restaurants.
The hotel is really clean and the food is 10/10!! The staff literally couldn't do anymore to help they was amazing! Especially Claudia she went out her own way to help us! Everything was perfect except the location. It took us about 20 minutes to get to amserfoort central on the bus then from amserfoort central to Amsterdam central took us about 1 hour on the train. But just across the road from the campanile there is amersfoort town which is also really nice and has a lot of nice things to see. It takes about 5-7 minutes to walk there so it's really handy! But I would defiantly go back in the summer as we went for new year 2015 and would really like to see it in the summer! I would defiantly recommend.
Really what you see is what you get here. No extra fancy facilities or services but just the essentials you need when staying for the night. The rooms are fine for sleeping. There is a little desk but minimal space to comfortably sit at it. The beds were perfect! The bed in our room had a soft mattress so I had nothing to complain. Shower was good, bathroom decent and last but not least the included breakfast had all the essentials for a nice meal. Do note, it's still pretty isolated from the centre of Amersfoort. You'll need to drive a good 10~ min before reaching the city centre.
We stayed here for 4 nights whilst on a coach trip visiting The Hague, Schweningen, Delft, the Keukenhof and Amsterdam. Wasn't looking forward to it having read some of the previous reviews but have to say we found everything to be fine. The room was small, but we only wanted to sleep in it, so that wasn't a problem. It was clean, as was the bathroom with loads of hot water and an excellent shower. The breakfast provided was continental, what else would anyone expect, and was plentiful. It was not a problem to find something to eat and drink. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer in the bathroom for those who use one. The Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant, allowing one of our members who had flown in to book in for the other 30 of us, so we got our key cards immediately we arrived. We did not find the main road noisy and it certainly did not disturb our sleep. We found brilliant Chinese and Italian restaurants within a 10minute walk from the hotel but did not visit Amersfoort itself. The hotel was perhaps a little tired but I did not find the Restaurant sticky underfoot or dirty as a previous reviewer said. We also enjoyed sitting on the outside terrace in the sunshine. All in all we enjoyed our stay and we got what we paid for.
