It is not my first time in this hotel and was good as usual. Montevideo is a very nice place with a very kind population, many restaurants with excelents foods and beverages. I recommend the city and the hotel.

Excellent service, in a very good location. As usual in NH hotels, all is OK, from the checkin to the checkout. Only one suggestion: open the restaurant on Sundays, because there are not many options in the zone this day.

I was hesitant to book because of negative reviews on this site, but I am favorably disposed to the NH chain so took a chance. Not disappointed. Yes, the room was a bit tired and worn, but very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Breakfast not automatically included, overpriced.

Good hotel. Beautiful view of the coast from just one side of the building. Good gym, no pool. Nice terrace. Only sauna with no one to attend, you have to handle yourself, turning it on. The male showers of that sector did not work the electric light. There were no large towels or soap there. The heating in the locker room was off. In the lobby gentlemen's bathroom the automatic light was turned off within minutes. The trash can in that bathroom was small and filled with paper towels. In the rooms there was only a small bottle of shampoo and rinse cream. There should be at least two of each, if they are two passengers. When we entered the room an employee asked us to come in to check the refrigerator. That should have been done before our entry. At breakfast there were posters on the tables suggesting to order salchicas or eggs passed by water, but they had extra cost. The good thing is the Sunday breakfast schedule, very wide, from 7 to 12 am. Good beds. The room phone had many buttons and did not understand how to answer it. It was not clear the wifi system. The first day was connected directly, the second had to ask for the password that was not in sight. The room was very hot and it was not clear how to lower it, there were no instructions, we tried with the keypad, but it looked like it did not lower the temperature. In the elevator it was not clear the ground floor (lobby), it gave to confusions with floor of restaurant. When it arrived at lobby the elevator marked "-1", when it should mark "0"

Clean, decent sized rooms. Very centrally located. Good breakfast. Get a room on the river side as city side very noisy in morning. Good for large groups. Not very romantic for couples. Helpful staff. Lifts dodgy. Dinner in restaurant was poor.

Hotel very well located, the best view of the city, large rooms, super friendly staff and good breakfast! Parking in front, guarded 24 hours. The best hotel to stay in the Old Town, close to everything, and very accessible to get to the Rambla.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The hotel is in a poor state of repair and does not live up to the images on its website. This was particularly the case with the 9th floor terrace at the top of the building. It was a rubbish dump with decrepit furniture rather than the amazing feature promised on the website (or the image in the lifts.) The hotel bar had little or no choice and had absolutely no atmosphere being in a walkway to the 'restaurant' Getting a lift was not easy after checking, in as neither lift would come to the Ground Floor. Later in our stay I discovered why, hotel staff would switch the lifts off while they worked on a floor delivering messages etc. I have never seen tables cleaned by sweeping the rubbish onto the floor at breakfast. But even more concerning was the cold food that masqueraded as hot e.g. the scrambled eggs. Our room had not been cleaned properly for some time as it had discarded tooth floss, rubbish and balls of dust under both beds. The shower fittings were broken and the sealant around the shower panels was black with mold. The design of the bathroom lead to some interesting gymnastics as you had to squeeze past the sink and toilet to get the shower was hard even with my svelte(!) frame. The hotel is situated along the sea front but if you are unlucky enough to be at the rear of the hotel the view of run-down buildings coupled with almost 24 hour traffic noise is less appealing. The view from our window was the roofs and balconies of a row of run-down properties just meters away across the busy street.

Friendly, clean, restaurant good food. Great location. Room a bit worn down but clean and service was very good. Would stay there again if in Montevideo. Great place to go for long scenic walks along water front.

For me, this was not a good hotel. The address was promising but we got a tiny, cramped room at the rear with a view only over the street to derelict buildings. The public areas are large but poorly designed and with no comfort. It is like a Soviet hotel from the 1960s, complete with an unpleasant odour in the corridors. It seems to be run for the benefit of the staff, which might explain a lot.

The hotel, located in the old part of town, is outdated, room smells, and is noisy. TV did not work, and had to call maintenance 5 times before they showed up after 3 hours. No restaurant, only a sad bar. Nothing to do in the area. Montevideo is one of the nicest cities in South America but the area where the hotel is located is the only bad area of the city. No good restaurants in the area. Definitely will never come back to any NH hotels.
